Chester said in an interview a few months before his passing that his head was a "bad neighborhood" and that there was another Chester that wanted to take him down, well sadly it looks like the other Chester won :(
Chester left a legacy of amazing art that helped and inspired millions, had family and friends that loved him and will always remember the best of him. We all die eventually, the other Chester didn't take anything more than what we all go through eventually. Chester just burnt brighter for a shorter time than a lot of people. That's how I like to think of it. RIP.
I believe chester had borderline personality disorder, I suffer with it and I'm constantly fighting another "me" in my head, he makes me think the world is against me and constantly brings me down
@@wezbian88 Chester when he was a child was bullied at school as well as abused from 7 till he was 13 years old by a family friend. Then on top of that when he was 11 years old his mom left after his parents very messy divorce and he was home alone a lot because his father worked long hours as a detective in the police force. All of that just compounded and led to Chester doing drugs and alcohol by the time he was 17 years old. At 17 years old he was doing hard core drugs just to numb the mental pain he was dealing with. When he started with Linkin Park he was still doing drugs but at one point his band mates helped him and he stopped doing drugs for a while but every now and then he would have problems and go back to drugs but then he would get sober again. Worst place for Chester was to be in his head alone because that's when he had the most darkest thoughts.
The lyrics says everything :( people hated this song and the album in general soo much when it came out, surely that had an impact on Chester too he was suffering rest in paradise Chester 💔
Many people didn't like jt. But a shit ton of people also liked it. Just like me. I loved the album. All the songs have great meanings. They don't HAVE to go nu metal on their albums. Let artists make what they want. If you don't like it leave is all. But never hate on what they try to change
I loved this song and album. I haven’t cried more in my life than when I listened to this album. They have helped me through things that most may not understand.
Linkin park seriously got me through a big depression. They helped me come to the realization I was in an emotionally abusive relationship. They literally saved me. It broke my heart when he lost his battle to depression.
Here's the story of how this song came together, according to things the band members said in various interviews: Three members of the band (co lead vocalists Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington, and lead guitarist Brad Delson) were sitting in a room with songwriters Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter. They wanted to write a song together, so they were talking to try and find a topic, but at the moment it was still small talk. Chester was asked "how are you?" and said he's fine (Mike said about it in an interview: "when Chester says he's fine, you know he's not actually fine"), but a few minutes later suddenly said: "you know what? I'm not f***ing fine. Do you want to know what's really going on in my life?" Apparently, that same morning Chester got some horrible news, that went on top of some things he was already dealing with and overwhelmed him. It's unknown what the specific thing that happened was, but sounds like it was really bad. He told them that, and then everyone started sharing what's going on in their life, and that brought upon the idea of the song- it talks about that moment when one problem builds upon another and everything becomes overwhelming, but then you realize that you're the one causing all this hurt to yourself by holding on to these problems, and you should just let go. Sadly, Chester couldn't let go. A few months after this song was released, the depression he suffered from, as well as a plethora of other issues (including, but not limited to: grief following the recent tragic death of one of his closest friends, Chris Cornell; struggles to maintain sobriety after prolonged battles with drug and alcohol addiction; and shame and disappointment from fans' negative reaction to the latest album) became a burden that was too heavy for him to carry, and he died by suicide on July 20th, 2017. He was just 41 years old.
Yes 2015-16 SUCKED for Chester it was awful but he also said towards the end of 2016 things were getting better and all of 2017 he was LOVING it. He said it was going f*cking awesome and how excited he was about the album coming out and all of the plans they had coming up for that year. He said all of that like 2 days before Chris Cornell died...
It would be correctly to say that Chester was one of the authors of lyrics for this song (along with Mike, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter). Brad is also one of the writers for this one but not much of lyricist.
Sometimes when things, bad things keep happening, even when your working so hard to make things better. You just began to feel useless. Things do just get heavier. It wears you down as the years go by. I'm just losing the will. I just feel beat down. Two steps forward five steps back. Linkin park has been the one band I can go to anytime and I can relate to so much. Please do Iridescent- Live though. Live in Red Square. Or The Messenger Live I. Madrid. So good. RIP Chester. Miss you.
Can you pretty pretty please have your next Linkin Park reaction be to their track Iridescent? It holds so much personal meaning for me and has helped me through some hard times. Love y'all! ❤

The music video for this song was the last music video that Chester ever did. It is sad that he didn't get the help he needed when he was a child so he had no idea how to deal with the traumas of his childhood in a healthy way. He was always looking out for other people especially his fans. He was known for stopping concerts when people got hurt in the mosh pit and he always reminded people at every show that if you see someone fall help/pick them up all because he wanted everyone to have fun and a good time at their concerts. He was a funny guy who loved to have fun and he also would do pranks on people. If you want to see the funny side of Chester bennington then watch the videos of some of the funny things Chester did.
Whoever that has the “Miracle drug” that’s pulls me out of my depression, anxiety, PTSD”, and agoraphobia., serve some up, I can’t get the right combination, and it’s been 10 yrs. I know everybody things I’m playing the (depression card) I’ve heard it all. That’s why I stay to myself, (not explaining why I don’t feel good) blah, blah, blah. So you don’t tell anyone! All better🥺
here is a group for you, listen to the Hu band....song is wolf totem, make sure its the official video.....then listen to the song for women by the same group with Lizzy hale as singer. Youve never heard a sound like this

I have to disagree with a lot of what is said in this video. Depression mental health is very serious. When you deal with depression the worst thing to say is “you need to just let it go”. It’s not all willpower if it was we wouldn’t be depressed. Please just be mindful when talking about mental health. This song and one more light was the last two songs Chester sung before his depression took over and he took his life. Rest his soul. It’s very serious. Love your channel just wanted to point some things out. Keep up the awesome reactions.
I disagree, I think a lot of it is willpower. Mental health is very important but too many people nowadays claim they have depression when in reality they are just depressed which are two very different things. Actual depression is a chemical imbalance in the body and mind that makes it almost impossible to manage your emotions well without some type of daily intervention like therapy or medication. And its not that large of the population that is actually clinically depressed. What people suffer from today is that they were raised to not know how to handle their emotions in real life situations so whenever anything happens to them they act like everything is the end of the world. There is also a huge lack of the last few generations learning accountability for their actions. They blame everything on metal health and a t like the world should cater to them. Needless to say, the only person that has control over your brain is you, and a lot of people act like they can't control their thoughts, emotions and feelings etc, when in reality its the one thing in this world that most of us do have control over, but too often they don't have the willpower to hold themselves accountable.
Some has to get the anger go like in a song ,or on a paper, some people train alot to have the mentality on the string you know, some people run alot, some people read, some people talk to others, some people have a logbook I can do a list in a while. Most of these people just do 1 thing not all of them, thats the issue. You can't stop because you need a change in the life you know not he same rutin, same minds, same mood, same yeah I guess you got my point now....people need new postivity in life and how you fix that? Standing still or moving forward? - OFC moving forward, new memories, new friends with another mindset, you change your living like moving to a new city, you do something different for a change I mean it helps alot ! My point is people need to change the fear, change the demon inside the head, make your life better not worse don't do to the same thing all over again, think more open and clear. It's hard like hell, but for real another person can't change your life, only you can ! I hope this can help ! Keep going strong !

Sometimes, we carry things that are too heavy and mean no good to us.
And "Letting things go" is not easy for everybody.
Always a struggle....one day at a time!
This song was Chester’s cry for help. RIP sir.

You really need to see this song live from their last tour before Chester passed away.
