As others have said on here already Lindsey in the violinist. She began her as a dancing dubstep violinist who posted covers of all different types of music from rock, to movies, opera, holiday, and video games. I've followed her side about 2012 and have seen her multiple times live. She was also my first concert after live performances were allowed again. She does a Christmas live set every year two, which I've seen 2 or 3 times. It's awesome. She's one of my favorite artists and love her entire catalog of songs, whether covers or off of her different albums. She also has a comic book series telling the story of her recent album Artemis. Shatter Me was the first song Lindsey had written lyrics for, and she had typically used guest vocalists for most of her songs, only singing on a few songs herself. This song was originally written with the intention or hope of Amy Lee from Evanescence singing but that did not work out. Evanescence was one of Lindsey's favorite and is actual my favorite band. Lzzy Hale from Halestorm did the vocals here and did them well. I personally love Halestorm also and think this is a great combination. A few years ago, I got to see Lindsey and Evanescence co-headline their tour. During the show, the each respectively came onto each other's set and played a few songs together, one of which was Shatter Me, and it was awesome. Two of my favorites performing an awesome song together. They also have been featured on each other's recent albums. Great video with great musicians with a great message about breaking free from the shell you put yourself in and finding out who you are inside and accepting that.
I got to see Amy Lee sing lizzy Hales part when evanescence was on tour with Lindsey. Was awesome. Go see Lindsey any chance you get. Christmas tour was awesome as well.

I absolutely love this song/video. It’s my favorite of Lindsey’s. I certainly love and appreciate the message, for one because it applies perfectly to the way my life has been going for a few years. However, I do hope y’all appreciate the story in the literal sense too. I think of it as sort of a Pinocchio story. The ballerina starts as a simple automaton that knows nothing beyond the snow globe, but then a conscious mind emerges and begins to wonder and think, and desperately wants to know what is beyond. I think Lindsey communicated a lot about the ballerina through actions and expressions.
Those 2 ladies are fire but. Damn, Lzzy Hale is the Rock Goddess of the 21st century. Please check out Hailstorm classics, I Miss the Misery, Freak Like Me, It's Not You and Rock Show. LIndsey Stirling is amazing. She has a very long list of covers and original songs. I saw her live about 5 years ago. I have never seen a person dance for 3 hours and play a violin without a break. Now this was in the middle of July in South Florida where it was in the 90's and like 100% humidity. This girl was amazing.

I believe i‘ve heard that Lindsey originally wanted Amy Lee from Evanescence to sing on this song. I feel like we got lucky with Lzzy though - her distortion adds a rawness to the chorus that gives me chills every time. And Lindsey ultimately got her song (and a whole tour) with Amy, so it’s a win for everyone involved 😍

I believe i‘ve heard that Lindsey originally wanted Amy Lee from Evanescence to sing on this song. I feel like we got lucky with Lzzy though - her distortion adds a rawness to the chorus that gives me chills every time. And Lindsey ultimately got her song (and a whole tour) with Amy, so it’s a win for everyone involved 😍
