Be mindful, When you are A "Christian" all the record label needs to Do is take a Song you create, that's giving All Praises/Worshipping Jesus. I grew up loving them, Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary. They made gospel music that appealed to a younger crowd. My religious dad, aunts and uncles couldn't stand their music and didn't want us listening to it. It was the weirdest thing, like we're praising and worshipping which is what we're supposed to be doing. But you're mad because you don't like how it's presented??? They were also the biggest hypocrites (drinking, drugs, cheating etc) so I kept listening to it anyway. Some boomers are a trip 😂
Yes my grandma would call it jazzy but what she still doesn’t realize was that music was changing across all genres. Well the world was changing generationally. Just because it’s not Mahalia Jackson. Doesn’t mean that it won’t reach someone and send a message.
Thank you for giving these ladies their flowers. They made such a big impact in the Gospel community but was often bullied by the ones who should have supported. Trin-I-tee 5:7 is still one of my favorite Gospel groups.
They were before their time because gospel artist today show way more than a haircut on social media... They definitely didn't get the props and recognition they deserved for paving the way..they were trendsetters and bringing people to the lord.... Period. A dope and fly group... God's grace is still in rotation...I'm glad they're still friends ❤️
They were before there time indeed. Because now, there is virtually NO STANDARD in the so called gospel music industry. The point is SUPPOSED to be glorifying God and leading people to Him. Not just being another style. Help us Lord 🙏
It's amazing how a community that has a reputation of love and acceptance also has a reputation of being the most judgmental. I can't think of any other group that judges you as harshly as the Christian community. If you aren't adhering to what they think is the standard, you get shunned.
Christians are supposed to be the “light of the world, salt of the earth”. The problem is too many ppl want to have 1 foot in the world and 1 foot in holiness. Trust, many ppl bashing Christians will wish they listened to the so called “judging” when Christ returns and denies many into the fates of heaven.

Trin-I-tee was much like the Clark Sisters of the late 90s and early 2000s because they couldn’t get how a contemporary gospel group who melded secular sounds with sacred lyrics could be the way they were.
I honestly think its jealousy and thee word being weaponized to justify it.. they saw these ladies getting success through Spirituality without Shrinking themselves.. And they couldnt let that be. .. Crabs in a bucket mentality.
I really liked them growing up & loved their sound together. I feel like they were modest in the way they dressed but at the same time they were stylish. Nothing is wrong with that. The church can be so harsh towards women. Even the duo Mary Mary says the same thing. Very talented women.

I posted why they were booed. I was there on the front row. Krystal Rucker sang Changed by Tremaine Hawkins and dumped the house. People were in tears and worshipping for 30 mins. They couldn't get the house back together. the girls got up with the wrong song. Put you hand in the hand..... hip hop. The people weren't ready for that. It was quiet when they finished then the low rumble of booing started. It was sad and wrong.
They were not that far off from Mary Mary in the way they presented themselves. I guess the only difference is Mary Mary pressed on and were just too big to fail due to the judgment they also received. They should have been HUGE! They could have been those girls in secular music. I see PJ Morton doing the same thing and operating in that Gospel/R&B lane. Many other artists made it happen as well.
I always thought it was weird the RnB stations in michigan city, south bend, and chicago/gary played the heck out of this song. I always thought it was really odd that they did not break through like mary mary / jill scott!
My ex barber told me that when he was doing secular rap he had no problems but as soon as he got saved and perused gospel rap…….! The trouble came sooooooo fast!

You know, i remember Trin-i-tee 5:7 in general. They were the Destiny's Child of Gospel music. I might have told my mom about them since she listens to Gospel music, which is more my mom's lane. Gospel music is very rare for me. Once in a while, there's a gospel song i do like.
Growing up only listening to gospel they were my favessss. The balance of the extreme highness and lowness of their tones was absolutely beautiful. I wish they were still together but their music will forever go platinum in my phone.

They fired her because she was a minister outside of the group, and they wanted her to focus more on the group and stop doing her ministry. They fired her when she refused, and they hurried up and got their makeup artist to fill her spot. The whole thing about her focusing on her family was crap. I guess they made sure that story never got out past the magazine, cuz you can't find it anywhere online now. But I never forgot that, because Terri was my favorite out of the group.

Terri left the group because she was pregnant with her daughter. You can see that is very visibly pregnant in the 'God's Grace ' music video in which she sung lead. They didn't kick her out. All of the ladies are still friendly to this day.

I agree. It's i listened to katy perry's new interview about christian pop. I remember their was alot of complaing about christian groups (which they were sort of right) being more interested in making pop/wordly tunes. This was one of the hidden gems of this era!
He will and always be a musical genius to me. Yes, his habits and addiction has smeared him but I truly believe in redemption . Hope he holds on to the Great I Am love and get back up 🙏

My favorite songs by them are My Body, Imagine That, How You Living, If They Only Knew, and especially What HE Wants. I did a choreography to How You Living back in the day, for my church.

The Christian community was a one of the most judgmental group of people. I remember Mary Mary sharing the same stories of being judged over their attire. I guess come as you are isn’t really a thing, huh? I loved My Body.
People say this because the Bible gives the World what God says is right and wrong. We generally want to live however we see fit and not be challenged to change. Christians, usually (hopefully) read the Bible so see what God says and speak what God says.
I love these ladies....their style was so cool...they should have kept on going in spite of the backlash from the Christian community...they deserve better than that...times have changed and no one should be judging their look... actually, they were ahead of their time with their look as a gospel trio ❤️
I remember when they came out. I was actually in the service when they got boo`d sitting on the front row of Mason Temple in Memphis TN. This is the church MLK gave his "I've been to the mountain top" speech before he was killed. It was a midnight musical at the Church of God in Christ Holy Convocation. Krystal Rucker got up and sang Tremaine Hawkins "Changed". She sang that song so until the people were weeping and the Spirit of God was heavy in the building. It was over 30 mins until they could quite down and go on with the musical. Since the spirit in the room was so heavy... anyone spiritually led would have picked a song that would have been in the flow. Instead they got up there and sang Put your Hand in the Hand. A 180 degree turn around and the people weren't ready for that. When they finished it was holy quiet at first then you hear a low rumble build. I couldn't believe they started booing. I've never been in a Convention where anyone was booed. I felt sorry for them. I don't think they ever came back to the convention. it was wrong to boo them, they made a big mistake. But as a singer you have to know your audience and they just showed they were not spiritually in tune. I will say this... the next night Karen Clark got up at G E Patterson's church and sang a hip hop make over and her group was doing the head banging like a heavy metal band. I dare say the same people that booed Trin-I-tee 57 was cheering Karen. I found it a little hypocritical. They were a little too sexy for Gospel at that time. There was limited space for their type of music, it's quite different now. Anyway, that's the story behind the booing. It was just the wrong song at the wrong time.
Ahhhh so they quenched the spirit with the wrong song for the time, singing God’s grace may have been a better choice. The booing was unnecessary though.
The booing was definitely unnecessary but its imperative that ppl understand Trinitee 57 was DEFINITELY a little sexier than the other groups-virtue, Ramiyah, MaryMary, Out of Eden. Mary Mary got backlash during their third album era tho but I never heard anyone else get trashed as much as T57 that their career just died down. Not to mention the management issues. They were being marketing as the gospel destinys child and things were just OFF. They didnt really have a brand or a statement sound. The Kiss was one of their worst albums. It was just all over the place. And none of the members showed their personalities. Virtue and Out of Eden were some of the best girl groups from back then. I miss Virtue the most!
I wonder what happened to them. I used to watch their videos when I was younger when it always comes on BET every Sunday morning/afternoon. Get Away and I Still Love You is my favorite songs from them. I didn’t know that My Body was very controversial at all. Yes I do remember the gospel version of 106 and Park too.
I remember that this group (Trinity) had one of the biggest rnb songs from this video. in the late 90s/00s I do remember there being alittle controversye b/c they took on more of a worldy look + sound. I thought to myself wow this is good! Good why arent they playing this right next to Toni Braxton? TLC? I didn't realize that they were managed by matthew knowles and beyonce around this . Now i felt it was alittle bit if test group before they released their survivor (and their Jesus Say Yes video) album. You dont hear or see this group anymore. Thanks for the story!
I heard God's Grace on the radio one morning and was like wow I forgot all about them! When I was a Christian lol I listened to them, Kirk Franklin, Detrick Haddon, Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Clark Sisters.

Trin-i-tee 5:7 is talented and one of my favorite groups. The hits they got, they should’ve been as big as Mary Mary. Gods Grace, My Body and Put Your Hands are my favorite songs by them. Chanelle was my favorite in the group vocally. Her low registry is life!!! It’s a shame that they wasn’t embraced musically like they should’ve been. 💯💯❤️❤️
My mom bought my their 2nd album when I was a teenager along with Mary Mary Thankful album and since then I've been a big fan, to this day they are on my Gospel Soul playlist. In terms of their dressing I never had an issue with it I think they wore clothes that were appealing but at the same time it wasn't revealing but you know at that time the traditionalist would have an issue about anything once it doesn't look or sound like them. So you were obviously not part of the church - it is amazing how those of you who aren’t even saved want to tell saved folk what they should accept. Wow! I remember when I first seen Trinitie 5:7 in the 90's I was blown away! I didn't know they faced all that hate from the church community! I was Loving them! I also remember the "My Body" song! When I first heard it I was shocked and shaken-up but I loved it! Wow! I was a teenager then....haha!
I and my Children of Glory Gospel Group from back-in-the-day, sang Trin-i-tee 5:7 songs along with so many others as our theme song moments in church events, concerts & etc.😊❤ This Gospel Music inspired us & spoke to our hearts!
We are so busy looking at the outer appearance while God is looking at our Heart. People should start looking at themselves and working on themselves. This is why a lot of people stay away from the Church. My Daughter was a little girl and loved them. The enemy does three things. Kill, steal and destroy. It’s a lot of that in the Church. Focus on Christ and not people. God will deal with them.
Who cares what your daughter loved? It only matters what God loves and approves of. So he will deal with you for trying to tell the truth church what they should do🤷🏽♀️.
I absolutely LOVE Trin:i:tee 5:7 they were the best female gospel group. I remember singing my first song on stage at church when I was 7. I sung spiritual love. I will never forget the scrutiny they received for being themselves. God has a way of spreading his word no matter how people may look or sound. They influenced many lives and I’m proud of them. I’m a Christian and I never judged them. I thought they were so cool and down to earth and could relate to a girl like me who was also judged in church. Christians have a way of shunning people who are only trying to do the work of the Lord. That’s why still to this day they can’t be stopped. What God has for them has truly been for them. Thank you ladies for inspiration and showing us how to love God and still be able to be who we are no matter what people think. As for you churchy Christian’s who have countless times judged and made people feel less than to God, May he have mercy on your soul.

As a person who went through the judgemental b.s. from the so called Christians I totally understand. As a result I have grown wiser. And now I remain on defensive mode towards pastors and so called Christians I once knew. Now I'm more fierce- spirited then ever and not always in a GODLY way. All because of my experience with people and pastors from my home church. I'll never be the same after the damage my church family inflicted.
My family enjoyed their music and yes, I played their CD out! Good upbeat music to listen to when traveling, cleaning the house and if you have the video, put it on the large tv screen and have a good ole worship time in the Lord!

i have always loved trinity 57 & still do, i continue to play their cd in my car at full blast. God is surely not behind these people who makes anyone feels bad especially what's called the church, God will deal with them all. God Is Love just because they didn't fit their mold, Not suppose to but God's he do what he needs to do, shame what folks do out of jealousy.
I never got why they received so much hate. These types of artists are who actually made me want to listen to Christian music. I remember my Sunday school friends, and I played their tape out when it was released.
Trinitie are very beautiful and talented women. I enjoyed their music and still do. But as a Christian, I also listen to secular music - I never felt the Trinitie group as Bona fide gospel. For me it was more than how they dressed. When I listened to Mary Mary, I felt the gospel vibe from them, but not Trinitie. That is why it was easy for Chanel to go and do Tina Turner because in her heart, she was leaning more towards secular than gospel. One is not a gospel singer just because they sing songs that seem to be inspirational and church like. People can see through that. You can wear choir robes and sing James Brown- that don’t make you a gospel singer. For me, their vibes leaned more to secular than gospel. That does not change the fact that I like & enjoy their music. But when I want to hear gospel spirit filled music, Trinitie 5 7 does not come to mind. They are more of entertainment for me and it’s okay to be entertained
i remember when they debuted they reminded me of that other girl group 'Tre', you know the girls that sung in the beginning of Bone Thugs and Harmony video for Tha Crossroads.

It's amazing how a community that has a reputation of love and acceptance also has a reputation of being the most judgmental. I can't think of any other group that judges you as harshly as the Christian community. If you aren't adhering to what they think is the standard, you get shunned.

Trin-I-tee was much like the Clark Sisters of the late 90s and early 2000s because they couldn’t get how a contemporary gospel group who melded secular sounds with sacred lyrics could be the way they were.
I honestly think its jealousy and thee word being weaponized to justify it.. they saw these ladies getting success through Spirituality without Shrinking themselves.. And they couldnt let that be. .. Crabs in a bucket mentality.

I really liked them growing up & loved their sound together. I feel like they were modest in the way they dressed but at the same time they were stylish. Nothing is wrong with that. The church can be so harsh towards women. Even the duo Mary Mary says the same thing. Very talented women.

I posted why they were booed. I was there on the front row. Krystal Rucker sang Changed by Tremaine Hawkins and dumped the house. People were in tears and worshipping for 30 mins. They couldn't get the house back together. the girls got up with the wrong song. Put you hand in the hand..... hip hop. The people weren't ready for that. It was quiet when they finished then the low rumble of booing started. It was sad and wrong.

They were not that far off from Mary Mary in the way they presented themselves. I guess the only difference is Mary Mary pressed on and were just too big to fail due to the judgment they also received. They should have been HUGE! They could have been those girls in secular music. I see PJ Morton doing the same thing and operating in that Gospel/R&B lane. Many other artists made it happen as well.

You know, i remember Trin-i-tee 5:7 in general. They were the Destiny's Child of Gospel music. I might have told my mom about them since she listens to Gospel music, which is more my mom's lane. Gospel music is very rare for me. Once in a while, there's a gospel song i do like.

Growing up only listening to gospel they were my favessss. The balance of the extreme highness and lowness of their tones was absolutely beautiful. I wish they were still together but their music will forever go platinum in my phone.

They fired her because she was a minister outside of the group, and they wanted her to focus more on the group and stop doing her ministry. They fired her when she refused, and they hurried up and got their makeup artist to fill her spot. The whole thing about her focusing on her family was crap.
I guess they made sure that story never got out past the magazine, cuz you can't find it anywhere online now. But I never forgot that, because Terri was my favorite out of the group.

Terri left the group because she was pregnant with her daughter. You can see that is very visibly pregnant in the 'God's Grace ' music video in which she sung lead. They didn't kick her out. All of the ladies are still friendly to this day.

People say this because the Bible gives the World what God says is right and wrong. We generally want to live however we see fit and not be challenged to change. Christians, usually (hopefully) read the Bible so see what God says and speak what God says.

I remember when they came out. I was actually in the service when they got boo`d sitting on the front row of Mason Temple in Memphis TN. This is the church MLK gave his "I've been to the mountain top" speech before he was killed. It was a midnight musical at the Church of God in Christ Holy Convocation. Krystal Rucker got up and sang Tremaine Hawkins "Changed".
She sang that song so until the people were weeping and the Spirit of God was heavy in the building. It was over 30 mins until they could quite down and go on with the musical.
Since the spirit in the room was so heavy... anyone spiritually led would have picked a song that would have been in the flow. Instead they got up there and sang Put your Hand in the Hand. A 180 degree turn around and the people weren't ready for that.
When they finished it was holy quiet at first then you hear a low rumble build. I couldn't believe they started booing. I've never been in a Convention where anyone was booed. I felt sorry for them. I don't think they ever came back to the convention. it was wrong to boo them, they made a big mistake. But as a singer you have to know your audience and they just showed they were not spiritually in tune.
I will say this... the next night Karen Clark got up at G E Patterson's church and sang a hip hop make over and her group was doing the head banging like a heavy metal band. I dare say the same people that booed Trin-I-tee 57 was cheering Karen. I found it a little hypocritical.
They were a little too sexy for Gospel at that time. There was limited space for their type of music, it's quite different now.
Anyway, that's the story behind the booing. It was just the wrong song at the wrong time.
Ahhhh so they quenched the spirit with the wrong song for the time, singing God’s grace may have been a better choice. The booing was unnecessary though.

The booing was definitely unnecessary but its imperative that ppl understand Trinitee 57 was DEFINITELY a little sexier than the other groups-virtue, Ramiyah, MaryMary, Out of Eden. Mary Mary got backlash during their third album era tho but I never heard anyone else get trashed as much as T57 that their career just died down. Not to mention the management issues. They were being marketing as the gospel destinys child and things were just OFF. They didnt really have a brand or a statement sound. The Kiss was one of their worst albums. It was just all over the place. And none of the members showed their personalities. Virtue and Out of Eden were some of the best girl groups from back then. I miss Virtue the most!
I wonder what happened to them. I used to watch their videos when I was younger when it always comes on BET every Sunday morning/afternoon. Get Away and I Still Love You is my favorite songs from them. I didn’t know that My Body was very controversial at all. Yes I do remember the gospel version of 106 and Park too.

I remember that this group (Trinity) had one of the biggest rnb songs from this video. in the late 90s/00s I do remember there being alittle controversye b/c they took on more of a worldy look + sound. I thought to myself wow this is good! Good why arent they playing this right next to Toni Braxton? TLC? I didn't realize that they were managed by matthew knowles and beyonce around this . Now i felt it was alittle bit if test group before they released their survivor (and their Jesus Say Yes video) album. You dont hear or see this group anymore. Thanks for the story!

Trin-i-tee 5:7 is talented and one of my favorite groups. The hits they got, they should’ve been as big as Mary Mary. Gods Grace, My Body and Put Your Hands are my favorite songs by them. Chanelle was my favorite in the group vocally. Her low registry is life!!! It’s a shame that they wasn’t embraced musically like they should’ve been. 💯💯❤️❤️

My mom bought my their 2nd album when I was a teenager along with Mary Mary Thankful album and since then I've been a big fan, to this day they are on my Gospel Soul playlist. In terms of their dressing I never had an issue with it I think they wore clothes that were appealing but at the same time it wasn't revealing but you know at that time the traditionalist would have an issue about anything once it doesn't look or sound like them. Wow! I remember when I first seen Trinitie 5:7 in the 90's I was blown away! I didn't know they faced all that hate from the church community! I was Loving them! I also remember the "My Body" song! When I first heard it I was shocked and shaken-up but I loved it! Wow! I was a teenager then....haha!
I and my Children of Glory Gospel Group from back-in-the-day, sang Trin-i-tee 5:7 songs along with so many others as our theme song moments in church events, concerts & etc.😊❤ This Gospel Music inspired us & spoke to our hearts!

We are so busy looking at the outer appearance while God is looking at our Heart. People should start looking at themselves and working on themselves. This is why a lot of people stay away from the Church. My Daughter was a little girl and loved them. The enemy does three things. Kill, steal and destroy. It’s a lot of that in the Church. Focus on Christ and not people. God will deal with them.
Who cares what your daughter loved? It only matters what God loves and approves of. So he will deal with you for trying to tell the truth church what they should do🤷🏽♀️.

I absolutely LOVE Trin:i:tee 5:7 they were the best female gospel group. I remember singing my first song on stage at church when I was 7. I sung spiritual love. I will never forget the scrutiny they received for being themselves. God has a way of spreading his word no matter how people may look or sound. They influenced many lives and I’m proud of them. I’m a Christian and I never judged them. I thought they were so cool and down to earth and could relate to a girl like me who was also judged in church. Christians have a way of shunning people who are only trying to do the work of the Lord. That’s why still to this day they can’t be stopped. What God has for them has truly been for them. Thank you ladies for inspiration and showing us how to love God and still be able to be who we are no matter what people think. As for you churchy Christian’s who have countless times judged and made people feel less than to God, May he have mercy on your soul.

As a person who went through the judgemental b.s. from the so called Christians I totally understand. As a result I have grown wiser. And now I remain on defensive mode towards pastors and so called Christians I once knew. Now I'm more fierce- spirited then ever and not always in a GODLY way. All because of my experience with people and pastors from my home church. I'll never be the same after the damage my church family inflicted.
My family enjoyed their music and yes, I played their CD out! Good upbeat music to listen to when traveling, cleaning the house and if you have the video, put it on the large tv screen and have a good ole worship time in the Lord!

God is surely not behind these people who makes anyone feels bad especially what's called the church, God will deal with them all. I never got why they received so much hate. These types of artists are who actually made me want to listen to Christian music. I remember my Sunday school friends, and I played their tape out when it was released.
Trinitie are very beautiful and talented women. I enjoyed their music and still do. But as a Christian, I also listen to secular music - I never felt the Trinitie group as Bona fide gospel. For me it was more than how they dressed. When I listened to Mary Mary, I felt the gospel vibe from them, but not Trinitie. That is why it was easy for Chanel to go and do Tina Turner because in her heart, she was leaning more towards secular than gospel. One is not a gospel singer just because they sing songs that seem to be inspirational and church like. People can see through that. You can wear choir robes and sing James Brown- that don’t make you a gospel singer. For me, their vibes leaned more to secular than gospel. That does not change the fact that I like & enjoy their music. But when I want to hear gospel spirit filled music, Trinitie 5 7 does not come to mind. They are more of entertainment for me and it’s okay to be entertained
