Yes - that's what I want too, although it still won't be AS small as a standard 15" laptop. Comparing it to a lowly Inspiron that has a 0.65" bezel thickness (total 1.3"), a bezel-less 17" laptop with a bezel thickness of 0.25" (total 0.5") will still be 0.7" wider. My 15" M4500 has slightly narrower bezels than the Inspiron (1.1" total), so the difference is even greater - about 0.85". This is assuming the 15" screen is 15.6" and the 17" screen is 17.3", and a 16:9 aspect ratio for all.

And No I wouldn't buy that mainly because I won't pay higher price for a workstation grade GPU when a regular gaming GTX is more powerful and a lot cheaper. Game creators tend to pick gaming laptop over these.

I was in architecture student when I bought this back in the day at served me very well. Everyone had this laptop MacBook Pro users had a tough time keeping up. It was very expensive though.
So when I started architecture school, there were two laptops that came recommended. This one came first. I bought it with all the upgrades and it was basically $5000 by the time I was done with it. I needed something extremely powerful because we did a lot of rendering and I had a very long workdays. fast forward. I eventually dropped out of architecture school and went to premed row and now I’m getting ready to apply to med school and I’m still using this laptop. 😂 it has served me so well. even though it was basically $5000 after all my upgrades, it was well worth the money after all of these years (7/8 years) I remember some of my friends bought brand new MacBook Pro’s years after I bought this and when they let me try it out, it felt abysmal compared to my older laptop. it had a wonderful graphics. That’s extremely important when we’re doing architectural work. now the cons is that it’s just too heavy and my battery is just not lasting very long, even though I replaced it. I’m looking for a new machine now. That will last me the same I have high expectations. I’m not quite sure what kind of laptop today would be the equivalent.

Same it’s a great laptop but the battery is very good. I replaced it multiple times and it’s still just doesn’t hold up other than that. It’s a great laptop still on today’s age

great machine but please redo this video and stop being so bias it would be helpful, the keyboard is horrific probably the worst out there, made out of plastic typeset keys and the travel is sticky at best, the computer is great but has some serious heat issues, and the build quality is regular dell awfulness with basically no QC available. Great machine , but yea this is also for students especially artistic students lol, and Tobias it is not the most powerful laptop out there come one dell precision 7720, ThinkPad p71, etc. etc. good video try to review the dell precision 7720 with the p5000 if you can get your hands on it, I would like to see that

I came to this review because my xps 15 that I've had for less than 2 years has broke for the fourth time in four months... I bought the xps because I thought it was the best quality laptop I could get so that's how I justified spending 2000 on it. , however if this is the best quality laptop I could buy, then I think I'm ok with no laptop, but if there is a better quality laptop that won't break down every month then I would be more then happy to pay for a laptop that lasts
Would get this over the xps 15 but this is significantly more expensive than the 15. I really wanted that Xeon and the 4K display, but there's so many incompatible parts hat they make you spend over 2300 just to get those two features. and that's with 8gb of ram

Just as some constructive criticism, maybe try speaking a bit faster or speeding up your voice in post. I usually don't have to put videos on 1.25x speed, but even that was a bit slow at times. Also that "link in description for benchmarks" is a bit unacceptable.

I don't think you quite understand what this laptop is about. A professional graphics card is not necessarily better or more powerful than a GTX chip. This laptop is far from the most powerful laptop you can get your hands on. This laptop was destroy video editing, but there's an XPS 15 that's cheaper than this and offers more graphics power. The professional Quadro card is more for computational work (like mathematics research) and engineering applications such as CAD and rendering software.
It is taking more than 2 hours to render 8 minutes 1080 60p video at my precision m5510, My specs are i7 6800HQ, 32gb Ram, 512 SSD Hynix Nvme, 2Gb M Quadro graphics card. Please tell me why is it taking so long, previously render was faster. Thanks
I really don't get why it's so hard and fantastic when someone makes a monitor with bezels less than point five centimeters, when pretty much all smartphones have pretty much no bezel...! Everyone just freaks out when it's a little thin, but If that bezel was on a phone, everyone would just hate on it day!
Too many problems with this machine - unfortunately this is what I got from my workplace. It is the 4K version with i7-7820HQ, heats up and shuts down occasionally, too much light leaks off the sides of screen, backspace button already making sounds and missing key strokes, laptop fans beat the noise of my ceiling fan even when doing moderately intensive work. My previous M6800 was quieter. Battery life is okay - built in speakers are nice for such a thin machine.
Tobias Dahlberg I have an offer from dell to get my 2016 xps to replaced with another dell. the xps 13 was nice looking , but had driver issues and faulty display components, m2 bay issues. I have another option go go for alienware, because I do not care much about weight. thicker machines tend to have better thermal management. the p50 keyboards i like more. ram packaging is better too. Thinkpads at my workplace never break, even the lenovo ones.
That's a pretty specific question that you're unlikely to get an informed answer for here. That being said, I use one for development work (Python) on Linux and it's still performing just fine.
When I see an enter key shaped like that, it's already a deal breaker for me. I'm a software developer and I type a lot. If I will be mistakenly typing backslash instead of the enter key, and if the left and right arrow keys are double height, then this laptop is not for me.
