Yes I'm aware V.rex would likely be heavier than its canon mass, but, the specimens were actually weighed according to the book so we're sticking with the canon weight. I also think T.rex's better anatomy, IQ, fighting adaptations, etc will let it take the edge over its descendant.
I also do plan to return to this, the T.rex vs V.rex section just took a lot longer since I had to go pretty in depth.

I'd like to argue otherwise on the V. rex vs T. rex section.
      V. rex was faster, more agile, most likely had a better biteforce, was way more armored, and had more sturdy/robust bones.
In the Skull Island book it was stated that the V. rex was extremely fast and agile for its size, and that's shown in the movie when it first appears.
The book also shows a skeletal diagram and states that a single hit from the tail is enough to shatter bones.
Do take into mind that the ones shown in the movie are inbred.

      1. Disney Carno would kill easily and quickly JW Carno, because it is wayyyyyy oversized. Completely, see slightly larger, the size of a T-rex, while JW Carno is actually very accurate and close to a normal real-life Carnotaurus in term of size.
As Carnotaurus was a very large abelisaurid (even one of the largest), and, ironically, was around the same size than Disney's Iguanodon !
      1. Between Moma T-rex from Ice Age and Rexy from the Jurassic franchise, it definitively Moma rex winning.
Moma rex is HUGE and oversized to a point she could even likely dare to fight Roland Emmerich Zilla, and she's around half the size of most classic Godzilla iterations from the early movies of the latter !
Already, she's gigantic when compared to the woolly mammoths protagonists that are Manny and Ellie.
And Woolly Mammoth in real-life was around 3 meters height at the shoulders (and almost the same size than an actual Asian Elephant).
And Woolly Mammoth is already a tall animal when compared to a human.
A normal T-rex is around 1/4 the size of Moma Rex here....
      3. Same results, it's Rudy from Ice Age which win upon Spino from JP3.
Rudy is already slightly larger than Moma Rex, and Spino around the same size than a Jurassic franchise T-rex (and a Jurassic T-rex is the same size than a real-life T-rex).

My personal opinion on King Kong's AP scaling:
While the Small Building level meta for King Kong is the most common and most popular, I'd like to argue that he can even be as strong as Large Building level to City Block level, and this reasoning is based on him being able to both no-sell and overpower the Vastatosaurus Rex's bite force.
When it comes to the general information regarding the V. Rex, it is said to have a bite force ranging from 8 to 9 Tons, which is easily in the Large Building level ranges. However, if you wish to refer to the World of Kong novel - which is canon to the Peter Jackson film - you can get the V. Rex's jaw power up to a whopping 23 Tons.
Not only do we see King Kong survive being bit by one of the V. Rexes in the film or even overpower the last one's jaws, but just as well, all the scars on his body are the result of past battles with these dinosaurs, so him scaling to these Large Building to City Block metas is consistent.

This was lovely, although a T.rex ambushing Kong is rather improbable given his usual living places are either his cave or the bamboo spot we saw in the movie where a T.rex physically cannot reach. If there was an ambush attack, sure it'd do vast damage if we use lower end calcs for Kong, rip flesh out, and it'd also do no damage if we use higher ends which are a one shot and some more over the calcs you used.
I overall do agree that in a IRL logic scenario, it would be far more interesting.

Where my Skull Island has a wide variety of dinosaurs alongside large bugs. prehistoric mammals brought over by the first generation of natives.
And multiple reptiles from the mesozoic to cenozoic from land and sea, along with 6 species of pterosaurs.

I think it'd be more realistic to say the natives were actually some form of empire. In every version of skull Island these "tribes" supposedly created massive stone monuments that were similar to Aztec temples.
I think they're history would be something like this.
Ancient empire arrives with extinct creatures*
Said empire starts creating giant monuments*
Some of those extinct creatures escape during that process*
A cataclysmic even happens that splits that empire into several tribes*
Fast forward to the first expedition to skull Island*

    • @colonelhammerhead3025
      @colonelhammerhead3025 3 месяца назад +1

@Liam-lx8xb that is actually what happens. They are a bronze age civilization that arrived to the island 5500 bce. However, they moved their surviving civilization 500 years later as they were a South Asian atlantis. They originally lived on a landmass that was home to prehistoric mammals and where the Kongs originated from.
They have formed a very close relationship as the natives provide caretakers. Women who are trained to heal, care, and assist with maintaining the Kongs and keeping the 2 species in a mutual relationship.
However, when the Landmass began to sink, they rapidly took as many animals, artifacts, people, and more with them to Skull Island. They had set up outpost and mining towns on the 2 sister islands of Skull island to mine bronze and expand their territory.
It is here where they made a great project of building the great wall and cities along the coastline.
The city where Ann is given to Kong is the first city built on the island and the capital of the civilization. Each city has their own Kong troop and focus heavily on one of the gods in their pantheon. With the Kongs in similar positions as Zeus.
Upon the 3 thousand years of construction of the cities and first great wall, the civilization began to construct a 2nd wall beyond the first. While the 1st wall had their delays from the wildlife, the second one, however, would be constantly attacked and breached.
This would heavily affect the Kongs, bringing down their population.
Even the major floods that occur on the island broke the 2nd wall.
It was in the 16th century ce that the construction of the second wall would be severaly damaged, causing it to be abandoned.
Those close to the first wall were spared, but those who were not either died by wildlife, famine, or disease or were assimilated into the exiles. The descendants of law breakers and traitors who were able to survive the Jungles of Skull Island.
With the arrival of the Western world, the Skull island future has changed forever

@@colonelhammerhead3025 Badass. I don't think they'd have Kongs directly as a god though. More like a sacred animal closely tied to that god. @Liam-lx8xb demi gods would be the better term. Also, the Exiled have a split off branch from the original pantheon. Where they view the residers(the natives behind the great wall) as enemies and any associated with them are seen as the same.
And the Exiled mostlh use weapons and tools out of flint and bone with their warchiefs using bronze.
They show up and fight Kong, Ann, and the crew in several scenes before the final battle on Skull Island.
Where the wall is laid siege by a Exiled warchief and his warband who after Kong saved Ann from their fortress saw it as a sign to attack once more.

As their tusks are actually poor weapons, as they don't use them usually against predators but between each others, in intraspecific relationships.
Mammoth's tusks are even worse than the straight up ones of Modern Elephants or Gomphoteres, because they are curved in a way it cannot be used as an efficient piercing weapon to use against the theropod vulnerables parts.

I think vastatosaurus would win most encounters with tyrannosaurus, it is around the same weight, though probably averaged higher since it's 8-10 while most rexes are 8-9 tons. It's taller so it has the higher chance of getting a good hit on the skull, and though its bite may not be as strong, it's much more agile and a lot faster. Also tyrannosaurus' teeth are not sharp, quite the opposite actually, so a chunk being ripped out of Kong is a little over exaggerated, though its bite would absolutely destroy any skin or muscle tissue

I disagree on the counterpoint about Prehistoric Planet. There's plenty of videos of smaller scavengers scaring off larger predators off of kills.(Ex. Vultures v lions) In the Quetz's case, the T Rex takes it seriously because it's taller, it's being aggressive, and it has a huge sharp spear for a face. The Quetzes were pretty able to strike at it farther than it could reach them. To top it off, the Rex didn't even give the meal up, it waited until they left and finished it off. Obv the Rex could have killed them, in theory, but it simply thought it wasn't worth the risk of getting hurt.

    • @godzillakingofthemonsters5812
      @godzillakingofthemonsters5812  3 месяца назад +1

That LITERALLY never happens. A single lion chases off entire groups of vultures, marabou storks, jackals and even hyenas of certain numbers.
Considering the nonsense T.rex took and walked off the beak of a Quetz is the least of its worries. There is no reason for the T.rex to take it seriously.

    • @lenosflarrethedragonking4300
      @lenosflarrethedragonking4300 3 месяца назад +1

@godzillakingofthemonsters5812 If it was struck in the eye, or it hit a major artery, it would be a detriment to its survival. I'm not saying a rex would never chase off quetz. In the millions of years that both of them had lived together, a huge variety of interactions would have happened. A lot of times rexes would've ambushed and killed quetzes instantly, but in others quetzes would have stabbed rexes in vulnerable areas, possibly leading to their death.
As for lions, I couldn't find the video I was refencing so I'll concede that animal specifically. But you can still look at similar interactions. Groups of cheetahs being scared off by vultures(admittedly less impressive than lions, but cheetahs are still stronger and should win the fight easily). There's also geese chasing off tigers, a silverback gorilla, and standing its ground in front of a cow. Cats are known to be ballsy too, slapping gators to make them go back in the water. These are instances I remember seeing on youtube, but there's pry more examples. These are animals that pose no actual threat to the bigger ones. Compare that to quetz, which could inflict way more damage. At the end of the day, weaker animals can win an exchange by just convincing the other that they're too much of a threat. Not saying it's that common of an occurence, more often than not these animals get their bluff called and packed up. It just depends on the animal being challenged and the circumstances.

    1) You should have labelled/written the dinosaurs in the title and thumbnail/title screen of the video as "Normal Dinosaurs" instead of "Real Dinosaurs". Because the Skull Island dinosaurs and cie are true dinosaurs but not Prehistoric species from the Mesozoic, instead entirely fictive ones which have descended from the latters.
They are true dinosaurs but have evolved in a way very differents and a point that made them very apart/derived from the ones, said "typical", that we are used to from the Mesozoic.
    2) I think none real-life normal genera or species of dinosaurs and cie, and entirely accurate scientifically as we know them today, would survived and established on Skull Island.
The local denizen species are way too evolved, better adapted and superior in many ways than normal typical dinos as we know.
Skull Island dinosaurs have evolved to be resilients and adapted to almost everything typical dinos aren't.
Such being physically resilient and tough to survive important and high injuries, bites, falls into the ground or hits from others dinos or from the landscape (better to remember that Skull Island have a uneven and unstable ground, with end up with plenty of cliffs, hills and moutains).
Most Skull Island dinosaurs are twice see third more robust, strong and thicker than their ancestors.
And while they can face and received with ease and few injuries several hits or impact from others species or accident within the landscape, typical dinosaurs wouldn't and almost all would die at the first high injuries or the first fall into the ground.
    Especially the large species.
(Because like elephants, a Sauropod or T-rex falling into the ground by accident would result with almost most of their bones being broken and crushed due to the impact with their body in contact with the ground, made worse due to their heavy weight).
In comparison to Skull Island species, typical dinosaur are very, very fragile in constitution...
Aside all that, it was a good video. 👍🙃

      1. This is really, really stupid, because Skull Island is fictional.
      2. None of this holds up to actual analysis, of the film or any of its supporting material. V.rex is slimmer in the chest and stomach, with big feet but other than that, it's a physical downgrade to T.rex in every way. The Skull Island species are a lot more fragile than you're pretending they are.

@@godzillakingofthemonsters5812The movie and official expanded book made great emphasis and established strongly that Skull Island is a very condensed, dense and unstable ground/terrain (not only mentionning that the island in question is rather small, way more that it was once used to be) and making the ecosystem very competitive in almost everything.
Forcing all of its inhabitants to evolved, adapt and reinforce/consolidate themselves to very high extremes.
To be able to handle all the hard pressures they face permanently and move within this very dangerous, deadly and trickery landscape, both from the others species and the terrain.
Skull Island dinosaurs aren't more fragile than real-life/normal ones, even demonstrated as slightly to highly more resistant to most things.
The Vastasaurus rex is completely shown onscreen to be ridiculousely resilient and resistant, and we all see it facing and receiving clearly and obviousely powerfull hits, falls and impacts from both Kong and the ground several times during a single but long fight that take around 10 good minutes, and each of the three specimens involved individually.
With T-rex, the fight would have being ridiculousely short, less than 20-30 secondes.
As one or two hits of Kong would have been enough to break bones of their head, neck, or ribs, and/or destabilize them enough to likely fall on the ground.
And a normal T-rex wouldn't survived a single fall into the ground, because it's bones would break at impact with the ground, reinforced by its own heavy weight.
It would likely not die at the moment directly, most of the time, but made it unable to continue the fight and in a very vulnerable position, enough for Kong or a Vastasaurus to finish it.
If Elephants die directly or not long after falling into the ground in real-life, with very rares instances of survival, so a T-rex, larger and heavier would have much chances.
While Vastasaurus have evolved in a way to face these problems.
How it even possible, I don't know, but it's still manage to do it.
Plus, given T-rex was more likely social when young, that mean if with adults T-rex, it would be one single T-rex against Kong, which could easily win upon the T-rex in a 1v1. Either if it's younger T-rex, the three T-rex would be smaller and less developped and robust , enough that Kong could kill them with powerfull hits more easily and quickly than with an adult.
It's not the sole example, the Skull Island Brontosaurus manage, we don't know, to survived impact with the ground at a fast speed, as scene in the movie.
It's not known if the herd at the end of the sequence survive after the accident, but with normal sauropod of the same size, all should have died directly and no more moving, instead of surviving for at least some additional minutes.
Because the sauropods would break their bones with the ground like T-Rex upper, especially the ones of their neck, here being crushed as hell, and die instantly without pain.
Breaking the neck of a animal made it die directly, without pain.
So, a normal Sauropod which the neck is more than exposed and subject to break if falling with the ground wouldn't survive at all such same accident we see in the movie.
Aside all that, it's also worth noting that your video, as it is about what would happen if normal dinos were on Skull Island and how would they face the local residents, imply that these normal dinosaurs species are introduced on it while there already before them the local residents.
Already it's a problem, because as I said it upper, Skull Island is already a very competitive ecosystem, and obviousely all the niches possible already filled.
Most introduced, if all, normal dinosaurs wouldn't be able to insert themselves, outcompete the local residents and establish on the island.
In addition they would completely unused and adapted to the local landscape.
And not having the needed behaviors to avoid problems from the landscape and residents specie, which them have co-evolved with the landscape and between them for around 66-65 mya.
Skull Island as a setting is completely unlike all known biomes, habitats and formations from the fossils records.
Some species of normal dinos could survived and last on the short term, but unlikely on the long term and able to outcompete and replace th already present species.
Of course, all that is just my opinion.
