After I put my new blade in I noticed the magnetic blade gauges, which I could tell were important but I didn't know how to use. Without the gauges' help, my blade cut but would not pull the board through. Will try to re-adjust using your technique and the gauges...I bet it will work perfectly. Again, thank you!

Ok, I’m not even sure if you still check this, but I did as you said, but when you say stops on the back, are you talking about the other blade clamp? Because I took it off also, should I not have done that? And how do I know when I put it back on, that it’s right? I have done it about four times, and it grabs the would and shoots it out like a bullet!

I am glad to have watched this video prior to attempting the blade replacement, and was able to obtain the magnetic blade setting blocks and allen key online. I figure the open end and sockets are standard sizes. Again, thanks alot Don.
fillister head machine screws, haven't heard that one before, i think they are actually called socket head cap screws, nice video, i will meditate on this
Greetings and thanks for the detailed video. If I heard you correctly, you said you sharpened your second set of knives. How???? And at what degree? I'm currently knee deep in a project with Hickory and I'm on first name basis with my sharpener. Love to attempt sharpening myself.

@@donaldporta thank you for the reply Donald! It was happening even with 0.5mm. Watched so many videos and it turns out all I needed to do was re wax the base 🤦🏻♂️. It had ‘gummed’ up I think the term is!
@@rafalrafal8977 Hi Rafal, I used Triplewax car polish but I think any car polish would work just to give it a smooth surface. Hope you get it sorted, it’s really annoying .
I think the 733 is the only Dewalt model that needs the magnetic guides. Definitely a design defect. That must be why I got mine for such a good deal. ha,ha

Pk Landfried I sharpen mine with a Makita power sharpener to 40 degrees. The stock knives were like 35 degrees.

Where and how did you get that magnet and I am assuming it holds the blade back while tightening..
They should be mounted on the cover that is removed.

Have you ever had issues with this planer not feeding properly? Mine gets stuck all the time
only if I am taking too much cut, or the wood is rough cut and the rollers aren't making good contact with the board,

Those are cap head screws (alen head), not fillister head screws (standard straight slot head).
