True, very true. How far must the man's pain comes, how much must one man bear.. And how much he must sacrifice, to give everything from himself, from his soul, from the very him for LOVE. This is devotion, passion, forgivness, honour, all the values which Jamie represents in this show. Really touching ❤️❤️ great actors 👏

I have a huge problem with this show!! I love it so much, because in scenes like this one, I can not take anyone's side!! For me, both Claire and Jamie have right!! Everytime they argue, they have their own point of view! And I like that!! That's why I love outlander!!! It creates and builds characters with pros and cons!! And of course perfect acting from Caitriona and Sam!!

Always. Claire wasn't right here. If fate wanted Frank to be born, he would've been born anyway. Plus, as it turned out, Frank was not even Jack Randall's descendant.

Seems a weird lapse in logic for me that Jamie wouldn't realize their entire life together would be erased in Frank didn't exist. She was only in Scotland BECAUSE of Frank. Surely asking to delay a man's life by a year is a small price to pay when it means losing Claire and everything they've done together? I know it's harsh and unfair, but I thought they'd at least MENTION this possibility.
But on the other hand poor Jamie was nearly killed by BJR and is still in pain, depression, sexual crisis and constant nightmares - The chance of taking revenge would be a great satisfaction and balm to his soul.
I recently watched this episode and this scene is really hard to watch. I hate when Claire and Jamie is fighting. Makes me feel sad.
I hate when Claire makes Jamie do things that goes against his ethics. Face it without Claire coming to Wentworth, Jamie wouldn't have had to give himself to Randall.

She asked something impossible. Sure she never thought one second, that Jonathan W. Randall might not be Frank's REAL ancestor. Jamie accepte her demande because hé loves her. What better sign of true love?

How is it that no one talks about poor Fergus? If Jamie had taken Randall's life at the time, Fergus would not have been hurt a little later on. But it's a shame Claire wouldn't have known at the time that Frank wasn't actually...
If Jamie never took Fergus into his family, Fergus would not have been in that room with Black Jack Randall, Jamie would not have challenged BJR to a duel and Claire would not have lost her baby. It's a domino theory

I started to watching outlander in the last month i am in the season 5 now but i miss young claire and jamie already 😩😩 they have aged them so quickly.. and i didnt like to watching america’s story.. i have interested story of scots and characters in the first two seasons

What does Claire mean that she saved Jamie twice. Unless she means that after saving him she brought him back from suicidal thoughts. Also at end of S1 she thought Black Jack was dead so that would mean Frank was too. Though in the end we know that it doesn't matter if BJR is dead where Frank is concerned.
I think she knew he wasn't dead but said so to Jamie to calm him. She knew he died in Colloden and not by the bulls, even told Jack how he was going to die
It is acted with such maestria! ... but it's also the scene which convinced my husband he couldn't watch anymore of it: he can't stand Claire's behaviour!
WHAT. She's the most reasonable. He wants to do something that could put him in jail when they are already searched in the UK, only to get revenge as if that would erase the suffering he has from his trauma. Jaime should be THANKFUL for having such a partner that does SO MUCH for him. They both do, they're an amazing team.
@M it's different here. She didn't know black jack randall wasn't frank direct ancestor........if there is no frank, there's no claire and jamie, since he is the reason they travelled to scotland in the first place.

Keeping score and demanding the impossible from Jamie is a true low point in Claire's behaviour. How selfish of her to choose Jamie and yet bargain for Frank. Say what you will but Claire has been truly selfish in France...so sad that she had to lose Faith in order to realise the consequences of her actions. Notice how Jamie didn't contradict her when she said the whole Faith incident wasn't even BJR's fault bit her own..he quickly forgave her.. meaning she is responsible....

Never liked Frank and I was absolutely on Jamie's side on this one, too. Jamie's always right. Claire only a few times.
I mean the thing is tho no matter how much we may or may not like Frank him not exsisting just for the sake of getting rid of their imidiate problem of Jack breaks time as its Claire marrying Frank and going on that trip thats the reason Claire even ended up in the past...
I think it's unfair that she asks him that. He want to recover the peace and those by killing Black Jack Randall. Her husband now is Jamie not Frank. She couldn’t ask him that. It’s unimaginable ! Furthermore, if Claire leaves Jamie killed Black Jack, Faith will be still alive
But remember that it was on Frank and Claire's second honeymoon she went through the stones. She probably wouldn't have been in Scotland, if it wasn't for Frank. And therefore, Frank was the reason that Jamie and Claire met in the first place...

If frank was never born, they never would've met
In conclusion through out the show everything happens as it is supposed to happen something called fate , Frank was BJR's brother's son so he would have certainly existed but the events would have turned out in some other way , Claire couldn't change the future during the entire course of the show ,so what's to happen will happen with or without Claire 🤣🤣

Man... If she'd already known that Frank wasn't a direct descendant of Randall, or even if she didn't care about him and let Jaime get his revenge right then... Fergus wouldn't have been attacked. This makes me very angry with her.
This is the moment where I truly disliked Claire.. she irritates me in this scene. She doesn't realize that future/time can never be changed. By her asking Jamie to spare Randall's life, that's already what happened in history.. that's how he ends up dying in culloden. Because from the beginning, claire spared his life even before she falls through time. Time is like a loop and very complicated.
