Crazy to think that years later, they are living on a ranch with a mixture of biological children, adopted and step children, and at least half a dozen of grandchildren.
You can see after Claire walks away that Jamie is disappointed that she can't give him any children. But he did not show how he felt to Claire because he loves her so much and does not want to make her upset! That is true love...
I think that something worth noting about this scene is that Jamie always cares for the well being of Claire above all else, even when having children is something he wants in his life, the first thing he tells her is that maybe is for the best because of how dangerous and painful pregnancy and childbirth can be. That's how much he loves her, he prefers that she is safe and healthy over his own desires and how important it is to have an heir, when he is the laird of Lallybroch.
In the book is Geilis the one who tells Jamie that Claire is barren. After Jenny 's hard and dangerous delivery of a new baby, Jaimie tells Claire that he prefers her to be safe than to suffer something like that. Many women died in child birth, like his own. You can read the scene by its own or understand the character through all the story.
@@glendys_a Thank you for letting me know those details, I haven't seen those books available in my country or language on libraries. But I'd like to read them eventually. I was thinking that too, that his mother also died to child birth, so he new first hand how dangerous it could be.

That scene reminded me of my aunt who was unable to have children, she was suffering a lot of pressure from her in-laws as well as her husband's betrayal, I wish there was a Jamie for her, to tell her that it's fine to be without a child...that it's fine that he will love her regardless of children.

The truth is quite different, the problem come from Franck, but he blames her for it because he thought this problem dont concern him because it's for others not him. And after she returns when she was at the hospital, he was angry with her because she betrayed him and also because he realized she can have children but not with him that show the idea that the problem come from him.

I felt Claires pain, my husband and I waited twelve years for our second daughter, we didn't want hormone therapy or artificial conception. We'd given up on it when it happened.
The pain through those years, the desperation, the frustration, it takes a great toll on you.
If I could give my fertility to any women like you I definitely would because I don’t ever want kids actually and neither does my husband. I wouldn’t be with him if he did want them because I’m 37 years old and the older I get the more I don’t ever want them and neither does he and he’s 43 .
Lovely scene, but you cut the video too soon. The scene ends with Jamie sitting in a very disappointing way, his hands speek volumes.

I just like this video because it has a personal meaning to me, 1 of my aunties have had infertility issue for long time, my uncle in law (when he married her) was like, ok with it. Then some time later my auntie found out that he has a kind with another woman for more than seven years behind her back which shattered her. I wished she had someone like Jamie, she deserved a happy life.

The name of the soundtrack is Outlander: Season 1, Vol. 1. Music by the great Bear McCreary. The song used for the outro is Fallen Through Time, if I’m not mistaken. Really beautiful soundtrack 👌 I must say.
i hope there will be season 6
They are working on it. I read they signed even for a seventh season. There are 8 published books and 2 new in the making. The story goes further , we may have 2 or 3 more seasons of the show.
