Episode 8 is split into 2 parts as we sample 6 different restaurants in and around Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria.
The first of our trio is Tipsy Bee, which is located in the Puerto Rico Food Market, opposite the Commercial Centre and Mogan Mall. Tipsy Bee offers a wonderfully laid back atmosphere, serving bespoke gin cocktails and offers a great menu. A great place to start our reviews.
The 2nd restaurant is based in the main Commercial Centre of Puerto Rico, Churrasco Steakhouse. We sample garlic mushrooms to start with a bottle of wine, but the main meal was somewhat of a disappointment to us, especially as this place was ranked 7 on TripAdvisor.
The last of the 3 is based on Playa de Amadores, Zenubia restaurant. Here we sample a garlic bread starter and mains of Grilled Salmon and a mixed kebab. We really enjoyed the food here and the setting was perfect for our wedding anniversary, A great place to finish off part 1.

We stayed in Amadores last time we went and ate at zenubia. It's very chilled there we often hopped in a taxi and went up top to the Europa Centre there's a few nice restaurants San Miguel lovely also Barbecoa a nice meal and Tribute show . Loving the Jackie scores 😆
We loved Amadores, lovely beach and so relaxed in the evening. We never made it up to Europa and we had planned to, just never got time. We will make it a priority if we ever get back.

Tipsy Bee food was great when we visited last August, I had the drunken beef stew too and was very impressed and it was deceptive - was stuffed when I’d finished. Looking forward to going again later this year.
Yeah we loved the food in Tipsy Bee the drinks were quite unique too. Was quite hard to match the food after eating there, didn't help it was our first meal so the rest had a lot to live up to. The hanging kebab in Frans was top notch too.

Tipsy bee food is amazing
It certainly is. Something a bit different to the other restaurants in PR.
Hi, we were in Puerto Rico in May. We enjoyed it there, we went to Tipsy Bee a few times. Food was great and cocktails were best around. Looks as if you had a fab time.

Great restaurant reviews not tried the tipsy bee yet on our travels to puerto rico ,so this is a definite as I'm big on Greek stifado and looking at Jackie's beef stew it looked so tasty and as a pair you were on the same level as to how good it tasted thanks again guys 😊
Yes, Tipsy Bee is well worth a visit. Really enjoyed our food there. Make sure to check out Fran's down at the beach too. It is in the 2nd part of our restaurant reviews.
We will do have seen it many times but always opted for oscars next door ,And there food is also amazing probably our best in PR .But will be giving Frans ago this time as the sangria looks so nice thank you guys ......

Yeah it was a strange one. The starter was superb, but the main really let it down. Sauce was just weird and tasted the same as each others.
Hi Jamie and Jacquie. We're currently staying at Playa del Amadores in GC and have taken your advice and visited both Tipsy Bee yesterday and Frans today. Both occasions superb meals and great staff, so thank you so very much for your reviews, which proved spot on. Can't wait to return to both. Well we did Taj Palace last night, and we thoroughly recommend a visit. Food and drink were great and all at a decent price. We shared a "basket of Popadums" which turned out to be 2 poppadoms and small amount of 3 dips which was OK. We then shared a samosa starter ( 2 small samosas) but again these were OK. I had a chicken tikka masala and pilau rice and made the mistake of asking for extra spicy which blew my head off, but was lovely and decent portion sizes. Annette had Vegetable Malai Kofte which was nice. We both had a nanny bread each which were just enough and not UK sizes, but enough. We're fairly big eaters but left full up and satisfied. Price came to £53.49 which seemed average to what you'd pay in the UK. Atmospheres was great choosing to sit outside and was got to see the amazing Mogan Mall fountain laser show. Staff friendly but were a bit half soaked and not 100% attentive. Would recommend a visit though to try.😊
@archangelalan sounds lovely. I have had some recommendations for this place before so if we ever get back there we will make a point of going and doing a review.
We tend not to each Indian food on holiday, get too full from it but I like the sound of the place so will have to give it a try.

Were thinking of gling here in june. Married couple late 30s.
But im reading two complete different opinions.
Some people say its a great spot for the craic with good music spots and cheap drink
Then others say its a "dump" with loads of places closed.
I know to each their own but which is it?? Is it a good spot for good nitelife and food and drink ?? Thats all we want!

Like you say, there's always a difference of opinion and depends on the person really. We had a great time when we were there. We always struggle a bit woth some.of the Spanish food but there are some great places too. We did a video on spme of the restaurants. Again, all our opinion but may give you a bit of insight into some of the good and the bad.
Sometimes it's just about finding what you like and sticking with it.

@@na-dk9vm yeah, stacks. Shamrock Bar seems to be one of the more popular places. There's a few piano bars and stuff like that.
Loving the videos it makes my Saturday morning. We tried to book a holiday after but the prices were very high. Wanted nearly 4500. To go back to kalamaki all inclusive is 3200 so looks like we will be going there twice next year instead. Really wanted to try here though. But got to watch the pennies now. How many more parts you got left.
Only the 2nd part of this one as wanted it all as one but would've been too long. So there's part2 of the restaurants and then one more after that.

Do you know what the weather is usually like in February
Generally, the weather is pretty good all year round. Although February probably won't be as hot as the summer months your probably still looking at temperatures in the early 20's and cooler at nights. There'll probably be a higher chance of rain too, but overall warm.
FYI the shots are usually caramel vodka
Yeah I think we discovered that towards the end of the holiday. Wasn't so keen on it.
