Great video about the island, I'm from Gran Canaria living in the UK for many years and it made me feel nostalgic. I would recommend seeing also the country side with its little traditional villages and the "Roque Nublo" that can be easily missed by tourism as they tend to focus just on the coast. Best of luck with the channel!
I had never heard of Gran Canaria. This is because I live on the other side of the world! Totally understand why this is a summer playground for those who live in Europe. Your video was beautifully crafted and very informative.
They don’t just walk around naked in ‘Las Dunas’ Tim ….( as you may or may not have discovered 😳😱🤔 )…. Must have missed this originally so thanks for the redirect from your ‘live ….excellence as always ✨💯😘
I am going to Puerto Rico GC for the first time on 27th Jan 2022. Infact, I've never been to any of the Canaries...I'll be there for my 58th birthday. Im young at heart and live to dance and sing and love live music. Also hiking. This has been very helpful. Thank you.
Wonderful walk Tim. Just beautiful. That sand is too hot!! Hope your toes survived and are ok.Those sand dunes are something.Loved seeing everything there. So pretty. Thanks Tim. Have a great weekend!!☀️
You have to see Puerto Rico in the 70s there was nothing my father was a carpenter building the hotels also he worked in maspalomas, playa del Ingles and San agustin greetings from New York I am from las palmas by the cathedral
Tim you have no need to apologies for lives sometimes because you are presenter above all presenters, and carry it through no problem and very professional. Keep up the fab work 😊
Hi Tim and Gabi. Grand canaryier looks lovely. After walking in the dunes you needed the paddle. Loved the little houses and the boats in the harbour and the great views. Gaby hope you are not over doing it and not suffering form the heat to much. Marie
Had a couple of holidays in Maspalomas in my younger days back in the 90s, loved it! In the Yumbo Centre further out was Cafe La Belle with a resident British drag act, who varied their act a little bit each night. Happy Days. Cracking video.

Best wishes to you and your equally talented wife Gabby. If you get the chance check out the beautiful coast of Northumberland I.e, holy island and Bamburgh etc ! Grab Canaria is one of my favourite places on earth, We always stay in taurito which is between p.Rico and mogan. Stunning little cove with water park and beautiful dark, soft sand, we go every Oct for my birthday, last Oct it reached 36c. Never had a bad day for weather in October. We always take taxi round to mogan as the cliff from taurito is still closed off due to rock slid a few year ago. Mogan gives me goosebumps. Son always visit p.Rico but that’s never bothered me.
The chicken probably saw your legs and thought you were related ! Only kidding, keep up the great work Tim always love to see new videos from you and Gaby 👍
Lovely Video. We went to Altarmar apartments in puerto rico in 2002 i think it was. Amadores beach was stunning and they had only just started building some of these hotels up the sides of the mountains back then. Visited Mogan too, lovely area.
OMG... This is pure nostalgia. My parents retired to Puerto Rico in the early 90s and had a villa up top. Seeing the original shopping centre has brought back so many memories, one of their neighbours ran an English restaurant called "Winston Churchill'" in that shopping centre..amazing, thank you
@@gemmaroscoe5548 sorry, it was actually called, "Churchills"! Karen and Gareth Williams ran the restaurant, my Mum even waited on there after her retirement! They lived in the same row of villas where my parents retired to. Did you ever try the prawn cocktails? They were a meal in itself! Thanks for replying and keeping the happy memories alive!
@@gemmaroscoe5548I remember the mixed grill too. The portions were HUGE, weren't they? Sadly, Gareth passed a few years back but Karen is still in Puerto Rico. Best wishes, Mike.
Hi Tim and Gaby lovely to see you both 💕 . Wow this was amazing I loved it 💖 . Thankyou for sharing this with us just lovely. I've never been to the canary islands I'd love to visit especially now you have shown how beautiful it is . Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Superb video! Really interesting to compare the different resorts. The sand dunes look incredible! What are the chances you’d be reunited with your missing flip flop??!! I thought it was swallowed up & never to be seen again haha. The Spar supermarkets in the Canaries are really good - fantastic value and a lot of choice. I love browsing in foreign supermarkets. The chicken was very fond of you & Gaby! Really enjoyed the video!👍👍👍
I'm so glad you went to Puerto de Mogan, I've booked for June 2025. I'm taking my son and we'll be staying in the other hotel there - the Cordial, which is set in botanical gardens and looks fantastic. I haven't travelled with him on my own before and this looked like a great compromise on all-inclusive (not a fan) and a pretty area where I'll feel safe. I think there'll be enough for him in the hotel and the beach, boat trips etc and just enough of a pretty, local area for me to enjoy too. I'm so excited, I haven't been away for over 6 years!! You forgot to show us your favourite place to eat there!
Fab video Tim. We really need to get back there, it's been a few years, need to do our 11th visit and work up to 20 lol! Love Puerto Mogan, it's so pretty. Think I'll give the cactus farm a miss lol, but the chicken definitely took a shine to you both! Puerto Rico definitely has a magic that pulls you back but you can't quite put your finger on why.
Superb video, loved the “wind swirls” in the dunes and you walking on hot sand and having to bleep yourself made me laugh (sorry!). Really liked the malls, where it mixed shops with eateries. Beaches and sea views were lovely.

Went to Puerto Rico Gran Canaria years and years ago, I remember it was so hot but not muggy like it is over here, remember nearly getting washed off the rocks by a huge wave that missed us by 30 seconds, we had just got off the rocks after fishing and 30 seconds later the biggest wave I have ever seen hit the rock where we were standing, remember annoying timeshare sellers, remember Puerto de Mogán, beautiful place and just a short bus ride away and I remember cockroaches the size of a horse (might be a slight exaggeration) 😉 oh and I remember Churchill's restaurant on the main drag.
