I don't know who's doing the math, but the fuel consumption figures are WAY off. There is no way that a SeaRay 340 can run at 20 knots for 700 hours "without being interrupted". At 20 knots, you'll travel 200 miles before running out of fuel... roughly 10 hours, not 700 hours. What am I missing here?
Yep at 2:20 that would be about 11,000 miles between fill ups at an 8 knot cruising speed but I knew you actually meant a 1200 mile cruising range not 1200 hours.

I would say a Carver 350 should be thrown on this list. Thats probably one ill buy eventually. Older models are like 40-80k depending on year, ect.

I love the way you completely skirted around the reason these boats are so cheap, nobody wants them! The fuel economy is so bad you'd have to take out a second mortgage on you house just to pay for a day's boating. So yes, anyone can buy them, but operating them is another question.

Scott weeks. I have owned and captained several sportfish. The first that I owned personally was 1982 42’ post with 671 x2 Detroit’s, next was 48’ 1995 ocean yacht 892 x 2 detroits, then 1992 Viking 53’ 10 cylinder Mann’s 840 x2, next was 52’ ocean yacht with1015 hp cats x2’ and lastly 1997 post 50’ with 10 cylinder Mann’s 820 hp x2. Sorry, we're not experts, therefore we can't answer this question. However, making the list and comparing the boats, we saw many in perfect condition.
The only thing salt water does not destroy is salt water. That said everything starts leaking, shorting out or rotting in older boats so it is pretty hard to insure one with a great inspection report. Example... a hose falls off and the boat sinks or a fuel hose leaks and the boat catches on fire or an exhaust hoses leaks and kills everyone on board while they sleep. That is just hoses to name one of many things that wear out with age.
If you know a local marina mechanic have then check it out prior to purchase. From what I’ve heard, you should really have your boat/yacht checked out after every outing, if not every other one. Boats in general are money pits

@@mbk7771 old vessel require a lot of work constant replacing parts and removing old tanks like fuel tanks that start corroding after 8 years and once the wiring starts getting wet your in for a whole new world of repairs

This video is absolutely false. 700 hp gasoline engines can cruise for a month without refueling? Try MAYBE 8 hours with full fuel and slow cruise speed. Pop yachts hires anyone regardless of knowledge.
No, we said it can cruise at the speed of 20 knots for a total of *700 hours,* so theoretically you won't have to refuel it for a month at this pace. Also, we don't work for Pop Yachts or any other company. What about keeping your cool next time, before you write a comment attacking everyone?
Ok, so repeating your lie won’t make it magically happen. None of the boats in your video can cruise at 20 knots for 700 hours! That is false. Cannot happen. You are wrong. It is simply impossible for any of those boats to run at cruise speed or even at idle speed for 700 hours without refueling. Let’s apply a very liberal fuel burn per hour at cruise of 20 gallons per hour per engine or 40 gallons per hour. The boats in your video probably carry about 200 gallons but we’ll give you the benefit of 300 and knowing that it’s prudent to always leave at least 10% reserve those boats cannot cruise for more than 7 hours. Period. End of story. Even theoretically! Also, know I wasn’t attacking everyone. I’m just attacking you.

@@GlameTOP I bought a beginner yacht last year with similar engines to your 5 examples. Using the Mercury Fuel Consumption Calc (and my personal experience).....20kts translates to roughly 3,000 and 12.5GPH per side. All of your examples have two motors so that would be 50 gallons ( 2 X 12.5 = 50) an hour to maintain 20kts. The fuel tank capacities would range from about 100 to 300 gallons. So in reality, endurance would be 4 to 12 hours. No drama, just using real world math.
