Of the 15 pullups the other guy made, I counted zero, I dont know why they let him pass through the exercise.. Same for Max's last deadlift reps, I counted zero, he didnt bent the knees and used his legs to push in the first part of the exercise, not only that is bad form but also very dangerous for the back.. Anyway great job and good victory :)

Ну и становая у Максима подкачала, хотя вне сомнения он в даном соревновании сильнее соперника почти во всех этапах.Это очень хорошо заметно, например, на поднятии ног к перекладине, подтягиваниях и повторных отжиманиях на брусьях . Отличная заруба !

the weight of the deadlift bar was not high enough i would say no risks, and it was like a crossfit battle, to test stamina, not strenght. So even if doing good form in training is essential, the most important thing to do in a race like this is to win, if there are no rules about form nobody follows them cuz is inconvenient to win.
Apex of Exertion I've seen athletes injuring themselves with just 50 kg bad form deadlifts.. They could go that fast because in this race the correct form wasnt required, but proper form to convalidate or not a rep should be a must in every race, otherwise it's just pointless
They can Injure themselves if they have not much muscle mass to support their spines, this dude got crazy back muscles and a generally great build. I find very hard that he can get injured for this weight. And a injury can happen even because you used bad form for a long time, not like you do it bad form once and you get injured, not gonna happen. Anyway yea he didnt lock out the reps but in my opinion its almost as hard to do deads the way max did, even if its an easier way im still impressed by his performance.

i think the chosen exercise weren't really good.
Calisthenics work mostly bodyweight exercise while Bodybuilding work with dumbbell or bar
those chosen exercises were mostly bodyweight exercise
and like... WTF was that leg exercise?Deadlifts 50 kg 15 reps??? any newbies can do 30+ reps with 50kg
not to mention bodybuilders' leg are normally stronger than those of Calisthenics,
so of course Calisthenics would win with those exercises
better choices would be :
bodyweight leg exercise*1
barbell leg exercise*1
bodyweight chest exercise*1
barbell chest exercise*1
bodyweight back exercise*1
barbell back exercise*1
The thing, is that bodybuilding emphasizes on slow reps rather than faster to build muscle. Callisthenics are usually faster. So no surprise here, the guy who has been training more explosive will be faster, while also being relatively strong. That shows that Callisthenics is overall a more balanced fitness approach than Bodybuilding. You saying that Callisthenics guy wins because he can lift...less than bodybuilder doesn't make sense at all. And yes, these exercises are favoured towards Callisthenics because usually bodybuilders don't train like this. I guess they had to plan the competition like that for safety...
I don't think every bodybuilders emphasize exclusively on slow reps. Some still train explosively especially since scientific literatures done by bodybuilders have reveal that controlled explosive reps build more muscle. But, Yes, those whose focus on slow reps tend to be not so strong.
Second, I don't think neither of them is a more or less balanced fitness approach. They both have their specialty and advantage. Calisthenics tend to be more efficient and have more control of their body, they indeed are relatively stronger especially upper body. But bodybuilders tend to be more familiar with absolute weight since that is what they work on, especially lower body (I consider barbell squat, deadlift, etc as bodybuilding exercises although i do understand some calisthenics squat or deadlift too.)
Third, I'm not saying Max wins because he lift less. In fact I myself is his fan, he is no doubt one of the strongest guys(Not to mention he has several world record.) What I'm saying is that he won because he is more familiar with the chosen exercises. To draw an analogy, it's like polar bear fighting a lion in tropical area, of course lion would win. In order to best analyze their capability, a contest mixed with both what their are expert in might be better.
Lastly, I think calisthenics and bodybuilding are both great, and the truth is that one don't necessary have to be a "calisthenics guy" or "bodybuilding guy", one can train in both way and be calisthenics and bodybuilder at the same time. In fact, Max True himself is an example, he train mostly calisthenics way but he sometimes trains with barbell too, he even compete in bodybuilding shows too. I myself train back like a calisthenics, train chest like bodybuilders, train leg like powerlifter, and train core like gymnastics or by tumbling.
