I loved what Kaylee said about living your most authentic life so that when you spend time with family and friends you have more to give..I'm feeling that right now, stuck in a situation where I'm not following my dreams, I'm not happy, and I'm not the best I can be around my family.. they are getting a version of me that is miserable, ALL THE TIME. Thank you for being an inspiration to change.

      BT has a song ruclips.net/video/AVAfI5x4h9U/видео.html
      lyrics....
      The Only Constant Is Change
      BT
First we are explicably where we are
Chaste and burned - we're comfortably loveless
In a trillion years, the stars will no longer shine
      We'll remain.
Get it right or come back again
      My love
Make it clear, integrate this love and fear
      Still hopelessly hopeful
      Wounded child seeking wonderful
      As closed as I am
Born a craftsman of shifting sands
      What lies I learned
Lessened my 'bility to be present
      My love will never change
      Though we've ruined everything
The stars still conspire for us
      Until our final breaths
We need more love in the world
We need more hope in the world
Build more joy in the world
      We crave more love
      My love will never change
      Though we've ruined everything
The stars still conspire for us
      Until our final breaths
      Until our final breaths
      The only constant is change
      My love will never change
      Though we've ruined everything
      The stars
      The only constant is change

@my opinion What's your problem? What do you know of the teachings of Buddha? IMO, you should spend an hour every day studying them. Then you would know the power of words, such as mindfulness, and not be such a nasty person. Ppl are dying by the thousands, mostly because of irresponsible ppl like you.

You folks create one of my favorite channels. When I saw you building the box for the concrete I was hoping you were going to use that to have the concrete above the ground line so your supports don’t rust out. I saw you made the same mistake on your shed. You can’t have steel sitting in a pool of water during the rainy season.

When I was in Viet Nam (way before you were born), the Seabees built us a nice "rain room" for showers. There were two methods of getting hot water:
    1. Shower in the daytime. Long black hoses were on the roof, solar showers!
    2. Bend a length of pipe and put it through a metal can. Bury the can in the dirt and hook hoses to each end. Put fuel oil in the can and light it off. Keep the lid to extinguish and save fuel.

Kaylee, I see such maturity and strength showing in your facial expressions, more and more each time I see you. Both of you are being so grounded amidst this pandemic. The things you loved about the town of Bouquete will gradually come back little by little. If you really want the cows out, an electric fence works the best, I needed that to keep out the neighbor's cows off of my property and it worked great. I used solar power, relatively thin metal posts made for that purpose with the wires running fairly close together. Obviously you may have to wait until you can access the materials. You guys inspire me, thanks.

When your welding instead of pulling the welding rod back to grab the steel, try pushing your welding rod forward as your welding, makes it fill in a lot better.

    • @stevehurst7526
      @stevehurst7526 4 года назад +4

Should always pull arc rod, keeps the shielding gasses from the flux over your puddle. Also Im assuming your welder is AC? There are different rods for ac and dc welding . I always try to use 7018 but if your using something like 6010 it burns hot and isnt the best for a great looking weld. Try some 6013. But mostly its just helmet time. It will just keep getting better.

We've been market gardening/homestead farming for 10 years. I don't need a workout plan. And farmers take showers before bed. BTW, the cow thing? Here's how you tap into the "cowness" of the cows and get them to work for you. My free advice is to get a solar charged battery powered electric fence charger and electric poly rope on metal fence stakes (I made some from 3/8 rebar stakes and welded some angle steel at 1 Ft. from the bottom for stepping them into the ground). I put stakes 25 footsteps apart. Add plastic insulators for the poly rope at about hip high so cows will hit it with their nose or shoulders. It's easy to make a 10 foot wide gate with an extra stake and a pre-bought plastic handle or you can make a handle from wood with a strong (9 gauge) wire hook. Clip the positive lead wire to the poly rope and clip the negative lead to your steel gate post. That's all you need in damp earth to make a ground plane on a small enclosure. It's totally movable. A single strand of electric fence will educate the local cows in short order and if they do knock it down it's easy to fix. I've used my solar chargers for years and you can get replacement batteries when needed Surround the house and garden and let the cows have the grass you don't need. They'll keep it mowed for you and the forest won't move back in and the neighbors will appreciate you generously giving them the extra grazing. There will be peace in the valley and the cows will give you free fertilizer. Cows mow 'till they're full. Machines mow 'till they're empty. Cheers and best wishes.

I would suggest a single strand electric fence (solar) to keep the cattle out of your smaller space. Hang little strips of something from the wire so the cattle will realize it's there. I get my supplies from Amazon. Then the cattle can keep the weeds down since your weed weedwacker was stolen.

Glad ur building a deck! I think it will make you happy. If part of it is covered and sheltered it can serve as a breeze way before you enter the bus. It can also serve as a vestibule for removing muddy boots and wet clothes when you come in fro the rainy season. Speaking from my experience: If there is something I'd also recommend in preparation for the rainy season, it's to put a few cheap paving stones on the ground between your deck and where you usually park your truck and that way you don't have to step on the mud when you go to and come back from, say the grocery store or even the cafe. Little things in life can greatly improve the quality of life.

I hope you guys are ready for the rains. We got a 1/2” just today in Brisis. The Melo store is opened in Boquete... just up from Romero’s. They have an electric fence charger to keep the cows out. You only need to electrify one strand of wire. They touch it on or two times it will stop them from coming on your property. It’s not enough to hurt them. Will save you a lot of grief.

Hi Guys. I enjoy your videos, how you make them and your honesty with your struggles. As a professional tradesman, I have a tip for you to make your life easier. There is no need to box your concrete. Just dig your hole to the right size and shape and pour your concrete in, if you mix the concrete a touch dry the post will self support. Consider raising the steel post a touch in the hole to allow the concrete underneath. Hope this helps Mark from Australia

The first episode that I found showed making a rock border around a flower bed by the house. Then I saw the outside toilet.
I wasn't sure why putting up a couple of make shift walls and a roof... could be done with a couple sheets of pylwood.....wouldn't come first.
Camping in the Snowy Mountains, we used a hoola hoop and a stolen shower curtain from an old Howard Johnson's hotel. We hug the hoola hoop from a tree, strung the shower curtain....which covered 3 sides, and a plastic sheet for a roof.
    Beats being in the rain.
Good luck guys...wishing you the best

A compost toilet is quite different from burying the crap in a hole every day. Composting completely kills pathogens, eliminates odours, and yields humus. It is a process that gets rid of all household organic waste safely and efficiently. We used to dig a hole with a post hole digger because we didn't want to put feces in our regular compost heap, but after studying a few trusted experts, we decided to add it to the compost pile. It works superbly if you do the job correctly, and fifty years later, I still do the same without any noticeable unforeseen consequences, and much less strain than digging holes. At 75, I still make ten tonnes of compost every year, and I still love both doing it, and getting tonnes of worm castings, which make your plants do jumping jacks, and laugh alot. Also, the sooner you get the cows fenced out, the better off you will be. Cows are a huge pain in the ass, and they never miss a trick when it comes to total destruction.

Kaylee you are spot on. So often the when the quantity of time seems almost unlimited, we drift through, like ghosts. Not completely there, not fully ourselves, not fully engaged. But, when our is limited and we've prioritized the time, we are fully there, determined to make the most out of every second. We are fully ourselves. If we cannot be or hesitate to be ourselves, who are we then? If someone likes, accepts, loves a less than authentic or false version of ourselves it slowly erodes our self esteem. It's like the immediate and painful impact of rejection is numbed but the daily realization that the person(s) don't really know you well so more actually damage in the long run. Similar to burning yourself on a hot iron. Ouch, that hurts and you yank your hand away faster you thought possible! There is a little burn, doesn't feel good in that spot. What would happen though if you didn't feel it and left your hand there, or even increased the contact. We are here to be our authentic, genuine selves, to the best version of ourselves, and when we are we generally find we're much more able to give others the space and support they need to be themselves. Truly enjoyed this video, sorry for the long philosophical post! Obviously my thoughts and meditations have run along the same lines as Kaylee! Love you guys, stay safe!

My world is horses. There are some very good solar-powered electric fences (good for cows too) - easy to install and many of them are temporary. You could at least make a perimeter around the bus, chicks and pump house. If you want some help with parts or installation, I'd be happy to lend a virtual hand

There most be a rule with the cows. Their owners have to fix the fences and make sure his cows dont go into ur land. That is not your job. Ask the cofee guy. He must know what to do. Good luck

In theory you are correct, if the cows are on your property, tie them up and wait for the neighbour to come speak to you and insist they take care of their livestock. In practise it sets the locals all against you. Going to speak to them and all you get is "no no no, not my cars, they are penned in good". Just easier to put extensive barbed wire around your land. 3 rows of wire isn't going to cut it, 5-7 rows of wire minimum up to about 4.5 / 5ft minimum as cows can jump surprisingly high

Or ask the guy that fixed their flat tire. He'd know. Jordan must've been embarrassed about his lack of skills and his self-inflicted injury, all while the locals snickered at him. Cattle will wreak havoc. Cute at first, then they ruin your crops. Ruts, dung, urine, etc.
The piano music with Kaylee talking about missing family was almost too much. Sad!
The experience: It may shift from idealism to realism, that hill in Panama might start to lose some of its charm, as family time loss takes it's emotional toll.
      Stay healthy & happy guys!

Suggestion for you guys for a little piece of mind get some geese , they are so noisy when strangers come around and they will stand there ground ,but they back down if confronted, that's not there strength, but the noise they will make WOW. It will alert you and others to strangers in the camp ?? Just a thought I had to maybe help you a little ?? Try it out and if it don't work out they sell super easy ...

When changing a tire loosen the lug nuts while it is on the ground.. can’t knock it off the jacks .. much more sturdy .. then jack it up to remove the tire .. safer

I always use cement and concrete interchangeably becauuse even concrete has cement in it! But this is the easiest way for me to remember. Concrete contains an agregate. But it also contains cement. So that is how I remember which is which. Cement is smooth, concrete contains cement but also contains agregate. Knowing that concrete contains cement reminds me it also contains something else, where cement doesn’t. Okay,, that sounds odd, but in my brain it makes total sense! LOL! 🤣 It’ a happy place inside my head!

Interesting. I've become interested in cement and concrete, I want to build a dome home. Sometimes they use aircrete? also. Amazing structures, tornado, hurricane, earthquake, fire proof. Super insulated, can be heated with passive solar, easy to cool also. So not popular, so good of an idea. Monolithic domes have cement roofs, but any dome structure in much better. Stay safe, thanks for the cement info. ruclips.net/video/wT6gemuwf4E/видео.html

That’s it 💧❄️ Exactly it will happen keep putting yourself in an uncomfortable situation taking those cold baths and it will build mental strength to be able to make it easier for you to take those cold baths. It will work that’s what happened to me. I rarely take hot baths even if I have hot water. I love it. In the summertime I look forward to it getting cold again So I can get that exhilaration. Just switch to pouring the water over you and don’t spray it on you.

With a good system at top efficiency, and average production of three tons per acre, you’ll need 2.6 acres to meet the dry matter requirements of the 1,000-pound cow for a year.
If you are continuously grazing, you will need more acres.

Key to hot water off grid is DC heating elements use solar or wind wired in series to 24-48 volt heating elements to a tank. Wire with a marine switch so you can either top off your batteries or heat a tank of water. Seriously two 24v wind turbines or even solar panels in series making 48 v would heat a huge water tank even in winter low light conditions. Its the most efficient way to convert energy to convert it to heated water plus a battery back up! I use a two panel 24v solar system wired to 48v heating elements by 11-12 am able to take piping hot showers or in the worst conditions take a luke warm shower.

I HATE anything COLD!! You are a lot braver than I am when it comes to cold showers! And use those cows to mow your grass and fertilize all your plants. And just a tip, stake down your chicken house so it does not blow over in that wind and the predators cannot tip it over! The deck is an awesome plan!
