This is recorded exquisitely. You can hear the pads on the saxes. And Elia? Looks like a French impressionist painting, plays like an angel, sings like a nightingale.

Elegant, tasteful, swings easily. This era produced some of the greatest popular music ever written. Elia is the Queen of restraint. Wonderful.

A few years ago there was a movie about a jazz teacher that made a big splash, "Whiplash." The teacher in that movie was basically an abuser who bullied and shamed his students into improving as musicians, and the movie was very popular in the United States. Joan Chamorro has to be the antithesis of that blood and guts take on teaching--and just listen to the results he's getting. Absolutely remarkable.

I love the way the musicians in the band switch instruments so effortlessly. I think this is the first time I've heard Ms. Bastida sing lead- sublime.

Anyone who can shine in this company, and she does, must be good.
That sax chorus version of the Getz solo is so fabulous I cant explain. Really makes me wish that I was a trained musician so that I could understand why. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to play it a few thousand more times!

Great performance! Elia, I love your voice and singing, you're so talented. Evokes memories of the '60' , Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Astrud Gilberto and so many others. A great period of time for jazz, as Bossa gave the jazz community something new to work on. Again, Joan Chamorro has the right chemistry with his students and I love watching him gloat with their success....which is, in great part, thanks to his guiding encouragement and tutelage.
