Thanks Rob for bringing all the new information on these new Vacs. 👍👍👍👌Certainly look forward to the possibility of having the Bluetooth options on the 6 at least. Just spent all last night trying to talk myself into getting a makita vac, but just ended up doing nothing, so apparently that was a good thing as most of my line of tools is Milwaukee. So come and bring it Milwaukee, like what I'm seeing so far, just add that bluetooth at a minimum and hopefully the corded option with batteries too.
Hey Milwaukee,, I do drain cleaning. Sometimes use hydro jetter , I would like to attach a cam lock 2” on the hose, to attach to my other attachment for jetting,, to suck the excess water for a nice clean job..
I love the video. I own a window and screen repair business. I’m replacing patio glass lites and glass cleanup all the time. How do it do picking up broken pieces of 1/4 tempered glass. Power line My 2.5 packout van struggles and the hose clogged all the time.
Milwaukee went all in for the vacs! Wish I could find one product line that had it all. I am tired of having different batteries for different tools. I love my Ego cordless blower, Echo chainsaw etc.
Milwuakee needs to keep this technology moving forward! Would love to see dual batteries in table saws, miter saw, Tower lights, any big semi stationary tools go ahead and double the batteries. Also develop an AC adapter for the dual battery tools. No more having a set of corded and a cordless tools. Run cordless when you need and when you have power plug the miter saw in and keep working without buzzing through batteries. If Milwuakee included these features I would definitely have an entirely red tool collection. No more orange vacuums and yellow miter/table saws.
Too funny, I’m in the same boat. Yellow table, saws, and miter saws. I have orange vacuums. I still love my blue lasers and teal woodworking equipment though.
Wow what a missed opportunity. Should have had dual power, bluetooth, self cleaning, and there really is no excuse for not having an interface for the packout boxes. Still keeping my MIDI-I
Glad to see Milwaukee is putting out some corded or dual power options! That’s the only reason I never bought one of their table or miter saws. I love the cordless option and would probably use it a lot but for the price points they sell them at I’d rather have the dual power option to plug it in as well.
Very interesting... Glad to see Milwaukee is making these, though I have to say I am more than a little concerned their battery technology is starting to show its age. They pushed back on the idea of running 2 batteries in such devices for a long time, and the HO tech bought them some time. But Makita had been doing the double 18V thing for a long time. I am having a hard time seeing the viability of the M18 platform in the long term, unless they go down the road Dewalt went down with the pouches in their batteries rather than cylindrical cells. Even then it would be buying time, while everyone else outpaces them with 36/40V batteries and tools. I love my M18 and M12 tools, but I have started to look elsewhere because Milwaukee seems to be getting complacent and more than a little slow with new tool releases (*cough* TRACK SAW *cough*).
I’m a dealer and noticed the Nilfisk-made one has disappeared from the web (though there is still stock to be had) and I’ve been eager to see what comes next.
The vacuums look nice, but as you and many others pointed out seem to be missing some key features. Not molding packout latches into the plastic is a pretty big fail in my eyes, and is probably the biggest thing I see missing that they could have easily and cheaply incorporated. Also not even having basic one key functionality let alone bluetooth remote to use with other cordless tools is a let down. I could see it being available on maybe only one of the power heads but to not have it at all is making me wonder. The only other thing I would be wanting is an ac/dc dual power option to plug the motor head in when power is available nearby but also be able to run on batteries when needed, it could be built into the power head or just some sort of adapter like dewalt or metabo have but either option would be pretty nice. I'm glad to see milwaukee start to offer dual battery tools where it makes sense rather than only make this kind of stuff for the mx fuel line.
I could be wrong but it’s looking like the 12 gallon is the only unit coming with the 2.5” hose? That being said the 9 gallon and 12 gallon have the same vacuum motor head correct? So the only performance difference is the hose size? But if it’s the same motor head the 2.5” hose will fit the 9 gallon unit? Please clarify this for me if you can. Thanks Rob
@@ConcordCarpenter Sorry, I should have clarified, I was talking hose diameter. If that’s the only performance difference between the 9 and 12 gallon, and if you can put the 2.5” diameter hose on the 9 gallon unit.
Do you have any idea what Milwaukee part number 49-90-2420 is used for, the only thing that I know is that it has something to do with dust collection but I don't know how or with what it connects. Your response will be sincerely appreciated.
Great review rob 👍🏼 Here in the Uk 🇬🇧 we’ve have classes on the filters . Low,medium, high. As a carpenter myself, and cutting a lot of M.D.F on site . M class is the minimum requirement. Which of the 3 vacuums would you recommend most for carpenters & fine dust work ? Thanks
none. Paper bags, no automatic Filter cleaning, special Milwaukee Filter, no Bluetooth connection no plug in for corded tools. This Milwaukee Shop vac is basicly a cordless Kärcher WD4.
I don't think any of these would classify as a M class. Not being HEPA certified and lack of variables suction puts these in general cleanup category. Maybe they will adjust stuff for the UK requirements.
The festool cordless range are looking 👌🏻 but your have to pay a premium. I think 🤔 makita xgt are looking the best bet for me , just hope there m class filters .
@@paulknights1764 yeah I'm not sure if I'm interested in the Festool cordless extractor. I have 3 different Festool extractors to keep the jobs flowing, but I'm pretty set in my ways with them. Recently retired a CT 26 that was 10yrs old and replaced it with a Midi. I wonder how many times I'd of had to buy new batteries over that 10yrs. I'd imagine that the 40v Makita will be offered with the proper classification for over the pond.
Upon watching this my opinion hasn't changed. Not including Packout in the design of this product is rediculous, and lazy in my opinion. It is a real missed opportunity. For some reason Milwaukee cannot seem to make both sides of their house work together, they constantly miss the boat on packout integration. I am also incredibly frustrated that Milwaukee refuses to allow for a dual power option with any of these high power tools. It forces you to make a decision between battery or corded (in the future), or buy both (which is what Milwaukee is likely aiming for). Then there are the accessories, Milwaukee only includes the absolute bare minimum to make it work. No base cart included, attachments must be purchased separately, and no filter bag ($30-45, really?!). I am losing faith in Milwaukee as time goes on and I continue to see thes cash grabs that benefit them, not much consideration for their customer, just their wallets.
Packout would make little sense on tools that you have to take the entire top off quite frequently just to empty it. I agree that it would have been a nice option, but if you're really that desperate to slap a packout on top of these things it won't be too hard to manage lol, the fittings are about $5 on Amazon.
They have a smaller packout vacuum already don't they? I don't see the point in having a full size shop vac be configured as a packout. These are improvements over the standard ridgid/craftsman/shop-vac "shop vacs" and will likely lead to Dewalt and other colorful power tool brands to make improvements to their shop vacs.
@@alexanderjamieson7971 who wouldn't want to be able to put at least a packout crate or a box or two on top of this to limit your trips to the truck? You can buy the bigger cart to take it up and down stairs as they stated, why not take some of your required tools at the same time? They went through the effort of putting hooks on the top because they knew people would like the capability. They intentionally left packout integration out of it. I cannot think of a good reason why they would do that if not to inflate their product selection and margins.
I'm just surprised that there wasn't a real HEPA certified dust extractor in this lineup. My work in occupied residential doesn't require much general cleanup shop vac work. I do run dust extractors paired with sanders and saws though. Even though these vacs don't interest me the accessory options are impressive.
@@ConcordCarpenter yeah I understand. I'm just surprised there wasn't one in the lineup is all. I'll spend the coin on a good dust extractor but since I rarely use a shop vac these days I don't see any justification for this offering from Milwaukee. But that's just my requirements. I see a lot of excitement from others in the comments, so I'm sure Milwaukee knows what they are doing.
Dual battery is not the way to go. Just take their lawn mower for example, when it stops because batteries are "discharged" according to the lawn mower, well, in fact, one of them always have one or even two LEDs left. Time for 40 volts Milwaukee ... Also, no cyclonic effect on the suction. Would help to keep filters unclogged.
All these high drain tools should absolutely positively offer AC DC but Milwaukee doesn't want to do that because they want you to buy 10,000 batteries from them. I'm done with that so I am looking into other tool brands that offer the ac-dc option instead of just trying to take all of our hard-earned money. Somebody else said they are a marketing company that sells tools I am seeing that more and more. Milwaukee either step up your game and show that you care about your consumers instead of just our money or my company and many others will be into other tool brands real quick!!!
Plug it in there is a lot more runtime. Having to own all these batteries is really pricey. What are we trying to save the earth, not our pocket books.
Milwaukee is not for the regular guy that is Why TTI makes Ridgid and Ryobi. Carpenter's like me and contract will make this purchase and I am going to purchase 2 of the 12 gallon
Something tells me they have a warehouse full of $250 12ah batteries they can't move and are unwilling to take a loss on. Now they are building tools that need them to be useful. Notice no discount on bare tool/kit prices. It's always $500 more for the kit.
@@jeffhead8780 didn’t think of that , but you could be right . They use 2 12.0s that’s more than the tool itself and the specs they provided were all using 12.0s .
