If you look closely at the fight, you’ll notice that Sol actually *didn’t* die from being force choked.
It was actually his back giving out for carrying the entire show.

Sols downfall seemed that his past distracted him from being a great Jedi he did a very dark thing in haste and never attoned for it.
He was only truly great in the present moment
Outside of that he was a man desperately trying to grip a handful of sand.
It makes his tragedy all the better

@@yseson_ Absolutely. He was very conflicted and bothered by his actions in the past and in the end, I truly believe he wanted the best for and loved Mae and Osha. The story itself has its problems but Sol was a dope character. Had a big heart but at the same time was a formidable fighter, like a warrior tending to his garden. Wish they kept the character around for at least another season

@pissedoffdude1 I blame the show for not showing the viewers Ansseya using this power before. Viewers of the Clone Wars and players of Jedi Fallen Order are familiar with Nightsister force magick and realize she was teleporting to save Osha once Mae said there was a fire, something viewers of afore mentioned media are familiar with.
The writers should've shown the viewers this power before instead of keeping them in the dark as Sol was

@@Very-old-manthe unedited versions yeah. They had the lightsaber rules. The sabers weight between 2 and 5 lbs they aren't lasers, there is a strong gyroscopic effect so it's hard to get them moving fast, they like to stick when close but will violent rebound when to close because of the magnetic containment. Revenge of the sith Anakin vs obi unedited shows how it should be with those rules.
Most "sword guys" on youtube think the blade is easy to move and rapier like distance control would work which it wouldn't. The fencing thrust would just catch the defenders blade and he'd just cut back in on you.
So the spins in ros uneded make sense.
Also they are Jedi they are literally trained to fight opponents from every direction without looking. Turning their back to an enemy doesn't mean the Jedi can't see them.
Anyways enjoy then giggle at "this is how light saber fights should work" . Ros unedited is the bible

I would argue that it isn't. It just looks like any fight from asian kung-fu / other martial arts movie. Just doesn't fit in Star Wars lore. And I am a big fan of Star Wars and Asian martial arts movies. I immediately knew that qimir character was also asian by his fighting moves.

    • @guicaldo7164
      @guicaldo7164 5 месяцев назад +24

I'd argue that it's even _better_ than in the prequels. There, the fights are elaborate and fun, but they look very choreographed, more like a dance than a fight. Half the time it doesn't even feel like the characters are trying to hit each other.
Here, combat is much more visceral, intense and aggressive. It combined the best parts of OT and prequel fights.

Because using a shoto against a lightsaber leaves Qimir at an extreme disadvantage in terms of reach. Sol can just keep distance with him and Qimir would never be close enough to land a hit, all while being within reach of sols blade. It's too much of a risk for not enough benefit, especially when Qimir knows sol wont kill him unless forced to.

They were well done and manny deserves his flowers for this ultimate mad man performance when he’s fighting he’s ruthless and unpredictable he’d fit in nicely in that modern era (prequels) he def would’ve given obi wan and Anakin a run. This movie is about embracing Yin AND Yang both… Light & dark (Ocea & Mae), accepting that light & dark are not “good or bad” or “right or wrong,” but just another natural polar opposite as up & down or cold & hot. EVERYONE has a dark side within; a bright light WILL cast a dark shadow. It’s just nature. The movie explores a cult of witches that tattoo themselves with a yin/yang symbol repping their appreciation & embrace of that balance. The witches were a private culture minding their business, embracing their powers like any tribe would practice its own religion. They use the force as a natural talent to its fullest, open-minded potential and we empathize Qimir’s ideas that the Jedi are the bad guys; like cops abusing their power. Making rules, limiting potential… Forcing entry into this witch tribe’s home & literally stealing their children in the name of “what’s best for them” like Child Protective Services. I knew yin/yang would flip in the end, & Ocea would end up being the acolyte. I promise if you re-binge every episode, you will enjoy this a hell of a lot more.

Image if we had a show or better yet a movie trilogy about Revan defeating the mando forces in 3976 BBY and then turned to the Dark Side by Vitiate becoming Darth Revan.
then the trilogy after is about The Eternal Empire with Satele Shan, Darth Malgus and Lord Valkorion. Fans would go crazy seeing the Eternal Twins cut down Jedi and Sith left and right as them dominate the galaxy. End Game level of a cinematic fight
Could have Revan be redeemed by his own great grand daughter Satele Shan (a real power house unlike Ray) and they destroy Lord Valkorion and the Eternal Empire together!

The show definitely isn't perfect, but it does so many things so well that I honestly really hope we get another season. The portrayal of the Jedi, Sol's complex character, the dynamic between the Osha and the Stranger, and the unbelievably cool fight choreography genuinely made me excited for the last few episodes. (They referenced wuxia, and kendo, and aikido, and all the other martial arts forms and media that inspired the original trilogy!! I honestly don't care about inconsistency in the lore, I'm a DC Comics fan, a little bit of contradiction doesn't scare me.) Honestly, just get someone to revise the dialogue a few more times and I think this could be up there.

@@eddie6198 Yeah no, it's honestly thematically pretty strong. Even the people I've seen who hate it are like “...Okay, Sol's arc is extremely compelling.” Sol and the Stranger represent really real and understandable reactions to scenarios that, while fictional, are meant to be paralleled to our own. The choreo is good, the casting is good, the set design is good, and I even really like the use of forested environments (which, while bog standard in sci fi thanks to British Columbia production costs, are always fun no matter what).
