    Thank you for this video. I have been buying Tigpods thinking they would populate. Now I'll be buying Apex.

    I'm a beginner. Just curious I hear everyone preaching quarantine your fish, before releasing them into your main tank. My question is...What about clean up crews/ snails etc.?? Do clean up crews carry diseases and pests as well? It makes me worried dumping in hundreds of creatures with the thought of introducing diseases and pest and ruining what ive worked to establish.

      Just use a toothbrush to give them a good clean, shouldn’t have to quarantine them

      I’m worried about the same too. It’s a good question and I’d like to see some info on this. I found flat worms in my tank, which likely didn’t come from dosing pods but it does make make wonder as I’ve been very careful.

      @@deanfielding4411 especially on snails ive found little critters and barnacles etc... So im sure they have hitchhikers just like coral.

    I tried to seed my tank but did it incorrectly. Lights on, pumps on, so pretty sure it was a failure. I will try again with your tips. Also, my Chromis went crazy for them when I first poured them in.

    Very helpful, thank you, Mark, got a few new tips. Notice I only clean my glass every 5 days instead of 2 or 3 with lots of pods. I think some of my corals/anenomes might eat them too?

    I have a 15g nano. Jus bough pods from algae barn with phyto to feed them. I have marine gems in my back filter chambers along with miracle mud. Should I add the pods to the filter chambers or the display tank itself ? Or both ? Also should I drip acclimate them or jus temp acclimate?

    Copepods and amphipods. Any drawbacks with amphipods?

    You say don't dose phyto when you have nutrient issues, is that too many nutrients or not enough? I'm struggling with low nutrients, have plenty of pods that I'd like to keep population up.

    • @Saltwateraquariumdotcom
      @Saltwateraquariumdotcom  2 года назад +1

      If you have low nutrient issues you can dose some phyto

    • @Mhamilton0911

      @@Saltwateraquariumdotcom I figured it was a too high=don't dose situation, thanks for clarification :)

    I bought a bottle of tisbe. Are they supposed to be invisible or did I buy a bottle of saltwater for 21.99? I dont see how my ruby red dragonet can see them if I cant! I have a 20 gallon all in one. Should I add to the back and get a pod hotel and shake them in every now and then? The lfs said to buy a new bottle every few months but that is kind of pricey for one fish! Ialso have phytoplankton! Anyway to seed them and they keep reproducing so I dont have to keep buying?

      You should try culturing your own pod so you don’t end up with expensive snack for your reef, either Tisbe or apocalypse as they breed fast. They’re cheap and easy to do. Lots of DIY videos on RUclips.

    Quarantining is a waste. Simply eye whatever you want at a local fish store and wait 30 days. If still alive, it's fine.

      There is no longer a fish store near me, anything I can't get at Petsmart or Walmart has to be bought online and put in a 50 gallon tank for a few days to observe.
