@@sarcasticallyrearranged no she got pregnant before it happened. She WAS pregnant when it started, and the poor woman had to give birth in her bathtub, while one of the monsters was next door. Her husband set up a trap and set off loads of fireworks, so she wouldn’t be heard by those monsters.
in the long run it would be good for the baby because it would learn not to cry when stressed.
My worst fear isn't the monsters but when we all need to work together there'll still be those who want the world to themselves
Having lived near New Orleans during Katrina, my neighbors and I banded together and tried to help each other the best we can. The more 'diverse' part of the city..looting, violence, chaos. I moved away after but took that lesson with me when picking a new neighborhood to live in. I noticed in Japan after the tsunami there was almost no violence or looting and people worked together to rebuild. Then you look at Haiti even 10 years after the earthquake and they're even worse than the day after the earthquake. Some cultures only know how to prey on others, even to their own detriment.

Best thing that ever happened to Quiet Place was casting Cillian Murphy, the man is perfect for apocalyptic films. And Emmet is definitely the most dynamic character they have had. Can’t wait for the third film. Could turn out to be a top tier trilogy
I am pretty sure you know his other film 28 Days Later. One of the greatest post apocalyptic movies in 2000s.

When Marcus got trapped in the bunker, I started freaking out big time!!!
Just watched the movie 2 hours ago and that scene happened that’s so stressed that I screamed and ran outside and when I say screamed I mean it sounded like I was screaming bloody murder due to the Fact that I have claustrophobia and I have never felt so claustrophobic before
P.S After I got outside I started hyperventilating like I don’t even know.

Him remembering the sign for "dive" was a clever touch, showed that he cared enough to take note of it and how adaptive he is to survive- and just for himself but also for his allies.
And this is more than a year after the aliens arrived.

I wouldn't call it better than the first.
However, I do consider it a good sequel, as it does what a good sequel should- actually continues the story instead of rehashing what we already saw and evolves the characters. And whereas the first movie was a story about parenthood, the 2nd movie is a coming-of-age story.

I got really irritated during the part where Marcus decides to "explore" the area after his mom told him to just stay put. Then he winds up making noises that attract an alien, and then gets him and the baby trapped and running out of air. He was supposed to be the "scared one", so why is he roaming about???

I agree. Stupid idea. But he wasn't just scared; he was anxious. It was clear in the baseball scene he has some sort of anxiety to begin with. And he's generally more anxious than his sister. Certain symptoms of anxiety won't let you sit still/do nothing, even if that's the best thing to do.

@Oz it’s confirmed it’s in the making. Part 3 will most likely be about them killing all the aliens so that the world could go back to normal using the world wide speaker using the high pitch noise from the ear device.

They’ve already confirmed a new film that won’t follow the Abbot family (Krasinski is not directing this) and details other survivors experiences, etc.
And, presumably (according to Emily Blunt) there will be one more chapter wrapping up the Abbot family story, where I assume Krasinski will direct.

I think a way they could have made this even scarier was adding the human monsters on top of the actual ones, lots of horror movies do that where you not only ah e to look out for the horror monsters but also fro the other apocalypse survivors who try to kill you and steal your food or have turned to cannibalism.

Looks like they could carry on the world with a tv series (like The Walking Dead) I want to see more of what has happened to the world. This scene alone reminds me of The Walking Dead, i love that. People would turn on each other to survive (look at Covid, people having fights over bottled water and toilet paper)
