0:25 is such a great callback to the first movie. He sprints forward to save an unmoving child in desperation, but in this one he manages to save him.
How did the monsters reach the island?
@@dareonallen9574 The scene before, the guy screaming get inside was in the water attempting to swim away realizing the monster could not swim. The other monster heard the drowning monster’s call and leap on a boat knocking and killing two people out. The movement made the boat sail away, the guy and the deaf girl made it to an island and rest there. The next day he found the same boat that carried away the monster land to shore on the island and roaming until attacking when noise was made.

@@dareonallen9574 Regan Abbot which is the deaf girl, dove into the ocean after their family friend Emmet, has instructed her to dive using ASL. During that a group who attempted to loot them dropped one of their lamps making a flame and a lot of noise after Emmet tried to escape. A Death Angle came and killed a lot of people, after it Regan helped Emmet be on the boat and sail to an island which has a radio station that gonna use to broadcast Regan’s hearing aid high frequency because that is what they use to kill the monsters because they hate it and the head shield opens up to kill them using a shotgun.
@@dareonallen9574it was also a separate boat, Reagan got a smaller one so she can emmet can move faster, but the alien jumped on a larger boat and it’s momentum on the landing made it slowly get to the island

The writers couldn't be bothered to come up with an intelligent way to get an otherwise intelligent character out of the way so that the other two characters could be in peril, so they make him do something stupid so that he can get killed. As a father myself, the look on his face as he places them in the closet and the way he death grips his own son’s arm before letting go is chilling. Nothing is verbal about the scene, there’s not even much body expression outside of the grip. But yet you can practically feel the statement.
“Don’t you dare make a sound, I put you here to keep you safe. I’m not sure if you’ll be safe, but you need to listen. If you’ve ever listened to me, please listen to me now and I love you.”
Meanwhile, he runs outside to be the scapegoat to draw the attention away from the entire village.
Sacrifices his own connection with his son and family. Not knowing if he’ll be okay. To protect not only his son, but his people. In which he dies after… it makes it poetic.
Although his face appears angry, it’s a face of total seriousness. You can feel the care in his eyes, because he’s placing his loved one in a space where it could be the last time he ever sees him. The last thing he’d want him to remember is that expression and that death grip of a dad that didn’t wanna let go. And he never made it back….This movie is pure cinematic greatness. The expression between the adults and kids makes it what it is.
The next generation and the prior doing all they can to protect them in a world where survival is never guaranteed.

I’m not an American , I’m from South Asia, and I’ve seen especially in super hero movies & high octane movies like these, Black characters are given authoritative roles, but with very less screen time or they’re the kind hearted sacrificing guys, that get killed off first 15 mins into the movie

That was the only part of the movie that I was baffled at. The short screen time we get with his character he seems reasonable and grounded putting his kid in the closet with coats and telling them to be quiet, while he drives off attracting the monster.
All logical smart choices and then for no reason he suddenly becomes panicky and stupid just cause they needed a reason to remove his character from the screen...
It was a good movie but that section will forever make no sense to me the way it was handled.
It would have been better if he gave them the keys and then had him rush off in an attempt to distract the monster causing him to get killed at least that would have made more sense for what little screen time we got of his character.
It was too quiet so he assumed the monster had returned back to the village
First thing my dad said after he died was, “He was only in the movie for like 10 minutes.” And my brother said, “Always the black ppl.” (Well, not always but it sort of does happen often in these kinds of movies, tho.)
To me it got me mad a little bit because yeah I was starting to like his character and plus it was completely out of his character because he seems so chill face while everyone was screaming for their lives and saving everyone’s lives with the a car…
He was calm and collective but him thinking his son is in danger would make any parent panic, he was fine till he thought the monster went back to the village because his son is there

1:43 That might be the only time I’ve seen a Death Angel go for a bite attack. They usually prefer slashing.
Even though their primary attacks are their hands with razor sharp claws that are strong enough to cut through metal like it's made out of tissue paper. But if their hands are obsolete, they will use other means to kill their pray.

Yeah. There were two of them at the docks. One jumped into the water trying too get the guy who jumped in as well but sank too the bottom cause of their heavy playing and drowned the second realized what happened and got on the boat to try and reach accidentally broke the chain realized only when it was too far too jump back on land so it just stayed there and drifted too the island out of pure luck

My brother hated that they killed off his character.
Makes you wonder, if they were living on an island, how'd the creatures get there, only way would really be if someone let them onto the island or if somehow they landed there.

This one got to the island by being on the boat (In the cannibal group scene) and being drifted off to the island. What are the odds am I right? But movie’s gotta movie.
@@mrmccrunchymcdonald2966 right, figured as much, pretty much guessed someone was behind it and the cannibals are and were the only people that seem like the type to do so.
They didn’t send the Death Angel to the island on purpose. Matter a fact I’m pretty sure almost all of them got killed by the 2 Death Angels. The boat wasn’t tied to the dock so when the monster hopped on it then it started to drift away.

This is the only movie that honestly made me wanna fight anyone talking during this 5% dialogue movie you weren’t even allowed to sneeze or cough and this was before Covid ……this movie just has a grip on you that doesn’t let go

He's Just Hiding!: Since the islander played by Djimon Hounsou isn't killed onscreen after being dragged away by a monster, some fans hold out a little hope that he's still alive (as unlikely as it is, judging from the screams heard after the creature yanks him outside).

I laughed everytime it slapped people when it attacked
I know people complain about how they made it easier to fight them in the sequel, but it doesn't make them any less dangerous. Just one was capable of wiping out an entire community in two minutes.

I found Djimon Hinsou's death the most irritating in the series. He did everything intelligently until the writers decided that he had to die, so they used the idiot plot to kill him in the most stupid way ever.
