Steve Gadd doing what he does best: lay down a groove like a floating silk carpet. Master.

No matter how good his playing is, and obviously it's phenomenal, it's his taste that really sets him apart.

Steady Eddie & Rad Gadd! The technology for isolating. These sounds from Saxophone and Piano is wild, how the hell does that work? Obviously digital/computer trickery… I know it’s nothing new, but it’s still amazes me. And this is really cool, thank you for posting this.

Thank you for watching, I'm glad you like it! I isolate sound using sound separating apps. Most of the time the apps work well, but sometimes they leave poor isolated and noisy track.

@@leaproicheva it’s a little bit funky and rough, but the complete removal of Joe Farrell & and Chick Corea is amazing, serves a purpose: to really study the Groove and Lock between Drums and bass.

As I always say , Steve Gadd is the elite operator, the Navy Seal /Delta force equivalent apon the drums ! Even he will say no 1 person is the best. But if it comes up he's got my vote ! Lol 😑🙏 🥁😂👍

There he's playing on the first version of the USA Yamaha 9000 series, that later took the shape of what was on the European market (Single tension logs) I think they are called.

Was there any practical purpose for those single tension lugs? Or was it a visual thing? Do you or anybody knows? Those lugs became the trend in the late 1970s or early 80s I think (I remember clearly, I’m 60 so I was around in New York). 10 years later, small, minimal lugs became the standard (like the lugs in my 1990 GMS drums), so that the drum shell could vibrate more freely. I think the single tension logs restricted the shell, honestly.
