そうそうたるメンバーですね。。この映像は１９８４年ですが、ナベサダは２０２３年の今現在も９０歳で活動している、というのが驚異！
メンバーのうちRalph McDonald, Eric Gale, Richard Teeは既にこの世を去った。
が、我らがナベさんは今なお精力的に活動。いつまでもお元気で頑張ってほしいです。

1時間の、「リハーサル」っていうタイトルで放送されましたね。
この番組とセットで、武道館でのライブも放送されましたね。
ビデオで録画したので、いまだに持ってます😅
Some great players in this video. All musical heroes of my teens, and I still listen to them in different constellations, like Will Lee with Pat Matheney and Gary Burton. Still have the vinyl Watanabe album California Shower, the tune they seem to be rehersing. Thanx for posting.

Thanks for sharing this video clip. I have never seen the sax player, Sadao Watanabe perform before. Even if it's in rehearsal.
I could only find one LP of his from 1986, "Good Time for Love". His music very smooth and melodic - easy groove, which makes Steve Gadd, the perfect drummer for his music.
Lots of excellent supporting musicians - jazz, and R & B greats.😀👍

Thanks Ruben!! You are the number one Gadd aficionado in the world today!. Many years ago when I first heard Gadd I wanted to learn what made him tick, then I saw a video of him playing Sissy strut in an army band and realised he has always been Steve Gadd. Such is the nature of genius. Buddy and Steve both have that perceived inability to explain their genius to the satisfaction of their adoring followers. It's like asking a bird how he flies. He just shrugs his wings and takes off! Although Steve has done some great videos and tutorials. There is always more questions. You're videos and explanations and playing is the best I've seen in all these years. Thankyou for all your great work Ruben. From all lifelong lovers of Gadd are truly a gift and a blessing, like the man himself!

Nabe Sada is Watanabe Sadao. Saw him in Iwakuni 1980 with Hino Teramasa
ビッグネーム揃いのミュージシャンばかりですね。この中では若手のキーボーディストのロブ・マウンジーのアルバムを何枚か持ってます。DigとかBack In The Poolとか。
当時のデビッド・サンボーンや、グローバー・ワシントンJrと近いバンドメンバーなんだけど、全然違う音になってるのが面白い。
Fill up the night が出たときはグローバーの頭のすげ替えかよー、と思ったりもしましたが Rendezvousでいい境地に落ち着きましたね。
Fill up the nightの出だしの曲は好きです。マーカスのドライブ感がバネのようで凄い。
