    "Moment mount is ubiquitous" Moment led the way, but are pretty much out of the lens game. Moment's latest BIG product announcement is that they now sell coffee beans LOL! The two current quality lens manufacturers are Beastgrip (37mm mount) and Sandmarc (17mm mount). Both companies update their lenses each year to ensure 100% compatibility and performance with the latest iPhones. Moment has not updated their lenses in YEARS. The anamorphics still work (they are much more forgiving of lens design changes), but Moment's wide and tele have issues on the latest phones. Same with Moondog, they still offer a moment mount anamorphic, but they have not updated their wide and tele lenses. Seeing as LiteChaser is pretty much copying the SmallRig cage, they should also offer SmallRigs option to switch the lens plate for a 17mm mount. There are 17mm to 37mm lens mount adapters available and then they would be compatible with the latest and greatest lens options. Very much a missed opportunity by LiteChaser. I purchased the system in your video and returned it for this very reason as I did not like the bayonet/moment to 17/35mm adapters. They need to expand their lens mount options. Moment is far from ubiquitous nowadays. FYI love your channel. I have learned a lot from you.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Год назад +1

      In my experience Moment is still the most common lens used. I do wish they’d do an update to their lenses, but they actually do work pretty well (not perfectly) on the main cameras of later iPhones, not the 3x Tele though. Beastgrip has done a good job updating recently, but they’re not as portable to use. But they’re my favorite. And 17mm is looking more and more viable as you say. ReeFlex also uses it. An interchangeable lens mount would be nice here. Thanks for watching!

    • @professionaI_yapper
      @professionaI_yapper Год назад

      I wouldn't say Sandmarc updates their lenses every year. Their tele claim 58mm but is wider than the 14 pro main 2x which is about 48mm.

    Thanks for the review brother, I went ahead and ordered their LiteChaser case & iPhone 14 Pro Max kit to try out. Figure this way I can still pop the phone in my pocket and on my vehicles RAM mount.
    Question, I current run a DJI Osmo 6 Mobil gimbal, but I’m thinking this setup will be too heavy for it. Are there any similarly priced & feature rich gimbals that’ll work with the 14 Pro Max and this kit?

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Год назад +1

      It might work on the OM 6, but it’ll be close. If not, the Smooth 5 is my favorite smartphone gimbal for heavier setups… ruclips.net/video/vHsypfyr-jk/видео.html. Otherwise move up to the Crane M3 or similar… ruclips.net/video/S304iLKg0kE/видео.html.

    First, I really appreciate the great review. Right now, I have a 13 Pro and a screw on 52mm Moment mount. It works great with my VND. Of course, no cage, which I would like to have. So, I have questions about the Polar Pro and the Smallrig.
    1. Is there a similar version for the 13 Pro from Polar Pro, or just last year's version?
    2. Is the Smallrig cage for the 13 Pro compatible with Moment lenses or the Moondog Labs 52mm adapter?

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Год назад

      There is no PolarPro cage for the 13. But the SmallRig cage for that is great. And yes, it has a Moment mount or a 17mm that you can optionally buy. So it works with all bayonet mount lenses and accessories… amzn.to/3jix0pQ. Thanks for watching!

      The smaller Pro version yes, the Pro Max probably. The filters are very light, which is nice for gimbals. So it should work ok.

    Hi! Do you still own this litechaser 14 metal cage, and if so, does it work with the new litechaser 15 case?
    They sadly aren’t doing the metal cage version for the iPhone 15 lineup, so just wondering if the new case works on the old metal cage

    I think you'll get tired arm syndrome with all that leverage and weight out there. Going to be very side heavy. So, gone is the real portability. So if you're going this route put another handle on the other side. So then the phone's morphology changes when the 15 goes out..or 16.. and you throw this away? Hmmmm.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Год назад

      Not side heavy at all. Works great. Not a fan of two handles. I always use one handle whether it’s a phone or a traditional camera. And yes, that’s the nature of cages, again whether you’re talking about smartphones or a Sony mirrorless camera. If you get a new one, you’ve got to get a new cage. But there are plenty of universal cage options out there too, like these… ruclips.net/video/JpTsn2btypE/видео.html
