WATCH BAND ADJUSTMENT / RESIZE - HOW TO
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 24 дек 2013
- This video shows how to adjust the size of a watch band by removing extra links. This video is "to the point", very EZ to following, and has great explainations and close-ups. Anyone will be able to do this. The watch in this video is the casio 2719

Own the same Cassio. All I took was take a worn out jewelers screwdriver ground the end to a beveled siringe shape and smoothened the end a bit so it doesn't scratch or skewer the nubs on those keys. I ground it so it fits the key hole. Gentle push at an angle with a bit of positive force and not even 2 seconds they push out freely without a scratch. Adjusting the links was a breeze. 2 minutes and it was done. Used the same procedure but had the arrows facing up pushing away from me. I was able to use plastic gripping tweezers to remove the keys. Thanks for sharing this video.
Sounds like you made the perfect tool for this. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching. I hope my other videos are just as useful to you.

I appreciate your time and sharing your knowledge! You made my day. It was so easy
following your advise. Cheers!!
Thanks, Noel!
Many Thanks!! This simple video helped me to adjust my Grandmas Accurist watch strap by removing the metal links and I also adjusted my broken Citizen watch whilst I still had the tools out using simple tools and techniques shown in the Video. Dude God Bless you! Little things like this can make a big difference to someone suffering with a physical health condition. Cheers!
So glad I could help you out! Thanks for the great comment!
I can't believe how informative and easily understood this video was, thank you so very much for posting. I have always taken my watches to be sized by a jeweler but after watching your video I was able to take my 12 year old son's watch that he just got for his birthday today and size it perfectly to his wrist. I had no idea that it could be this easy especially without the tiny little Jewelers tools. Thanks again.
Great comment! Thanks you so much for the positive feedback. It makes my day that my video helped you out.
Your plier + nail technique is the best. Spent time trying with lots of different tools cause I thought the nail could scratch the metal. Your method works quickly and efficiently. Thanks!
Glad my video helped you out! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Thanks man it worked. My mother kept insisting I should let do it at a shop, but I did it myself anyways
I was about to do this then saw I could adjust the clasp pin. It might be worth making a note of that if the adjustment is small.
Same here
good call! DIY!!!!!
EXCELLENT Philip !!!! Just what I needed . With good clear video and a nice patient commentary . Thank you from England !!
So glad my video helped you out, Tee! Thanks for the positive feedback
Yaaay, I did it! I used precision tweezers instead of your "nail tool", and yes, the keys put up a fight, but mine came off easier than the keys in your video. I'm a woman and I'm not strong or muscular at all, and even so adjusting the strap was easier than I thought.
Now my watch fits perfectly. I can finally wear it!
Great job!
Thank you very much for posting! I got a very nice watch in Brazil several months ago and could not figure or find out how to adjust the band. I was finally able to adjust after finding your video. I took a tooth pic and dipped it WD40, and placed a small drop in the hole..The pin came out much easier. Thanks Again!!!
Great tip on the WD40! Thanks for posting!
This tip made things so much easier.
I haven't worn a watch in 2 years because the band was too large and a shop to have it changed was 20 miles away. With your video it took all of 5 minutes and a small screw driver and it fits perfectly. I thoroughly cleaned the band before I started this. The pins came out easy. Thanks for the video.
Robert, Thanks for the great comment. Glad I can help you out!!!
Just got my first analog watch today, was very sad at first as it was very loose, but saw this video and then did the adjustments myself and then it fit me perfectly well. Thank you so much!
Great to hear!
fantastic detailed, easy to follow video! took out extra links in my watch easily thanks to this video! I would have had no clue otherwise. thank you!!!
So glad my video helped you out!
who would think that a video that was uploaded almost 10 years ago , taught me how to resize my new watch, amazing video thanks A lot !
Glad it helped!
Your directions were spot on! I needed to take two links out, so I took one key out, skipped the one next to it, then took out the next one. Now the watch fits perfectly. Thank you.
So glad this video helped you out. Thank you for taking time to send me a positive comment. I really do appreciate it, Paul !
Very good instructions in this video. My son just got a casio watch for Christmas and we needed to adjust. With the help of this video it was a breeze.
I made this video years ago when my son got this watch for Christmas too. It must be a pretty popular watch to give, because I get most of my views around Christmas. Thanks for the positive feedback, my friend!
Excellent video, simple clear instructions, no fuss, worked a treat on my son's Sekonda.
Rather than hold the nail with the pliers, I hammered a 1" (25mm) brass panel pin into a thin stick until about 0.1" (2.5mm) was protruding through it - very effective.
Thanks for watching my video, my friend
Fantastic, thank you!
This technique also works for Lorus metallic watch strap.
Thank you for taking the time to share your skills with us all.
Thanks Hugh, for taking the time to write a positive comment! I appreciate it! Glad my video helped!
Thank you my good sir. You helped me get a watch, that my stepfather passed down to me, fitting on my small wrist. You are awesome, thank you again.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, Grant!
Thank you for your explanation. I was struggling like you said pushing the links until I searched some more and found it's a very simple, no hard pressure needed job. Simply make sure your have a small enough tool/nail to go all the way down in the hole and simply ease out the key little by little.
One comment I got a long time ago said that they used a thumb tack. That would also be a good tool
Several years later still useful for me today! Thanks.
Great to hear!
I did it!!!it was hard as hell getting that catch out but I did it. Your video is 7 years old but is helping people way into the future... thanks dude..
Glad it helped!
This video saved me a few bucks as I was able to remove the links from my new watch following your instructions. It worked! Thanks!
You're welcome, John! Glad my video helped you out!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! My brother stopped wearing his watch because it was a mite too big, so I've been wanting to fix it for him, your tutorial was excellent and the watch now fits excellently! Once more, thank you!
You're very welcome! Thanks for taking the time to comment, Marie! Hope you find my other videos just as useful!
Thank you 😊 so glad I found your video. I just purchased a watch today, and other videos didn't mention the arrows on the inside. Even though my watch has the release pins on the bottom edge rather than the inside like yours, the video was extremely helpful, especially because my wrist is so tiny 😄🤣.Thanks again 👏🏾👏🏾
Glad I could help you out, my friend! I hope you find my other videos just as useful! Thanks again
I was going crazy with my Casio BZX-20 and your video saved me! Mine one is not exactly the same, but similar, works the same way. Thank you very much!
Ya, the design of this band is not a friendly one at all. However, once you figure it out, it's manageable. Thanks for the positive feedback!
Thank you! I just got a watch for Christmas and I had to adjust the size and this video was spot on! :)
+Haylee Melody Haylee, I'm very glad this video helped you out. I believe there has been a lot of folks getting this watch/band for Christmas, because I've received a lot of emails on it lately. I love the positive feedback. Thank you for your positive comment. Merry CHRISTmas!
The only video that taught me what I needed, thanksss!!!
Phil, Thank you for the tutorial! This is one of the best two videos showing how to remove L shape or U shape watch band. Xiao
Thanks, Xiao!
i offered to help my friend and remove some links and this video gave me everything i needed to do a spot on job. thx
GREAT! thanks for the comment. I love to know my video helped someone!
Thank you! Just adjusted my new watch after watching your video! Very helpful.
+Piyathida Sampanprasit So glad this video helped you! Thanks for the positive comment!
Thanks Phil, I just bought a Casio with this strap and was wondering how to adjust it. Great demonstration, and it works; well done.
Thanks for watching!
Many thanks from Russia!!! Another tip: you can also use a needle (narrow end or a wider one if you can remove the hole for a thread, otherwise it will broke) if nail doesn't stick into position. Tried this with Q&Q watches and removed all links I needed for 5 hours. It was a tough challenge but now I feel proud for wearing this thing that I fitted for myself
Great tip! BTW...... I have been getting comments from Russians for over 13 years now. 99.9 percent of them have been vulgar, hateful, and mean. In fact, there has been times when I simply delete a comment if it's in Russian, just because of the immoral hate speech. YOU, MY FRIEND....... have redeemed my opinion of your country people. I would like to think that you represent your society. Thank you so much for the kind comment! You are always welcome on my channel, Actdye!
Great instructional video. It told me just what I needed to know to adjust my new Casio watch. Keep up the good work.
Glad I can help you out, Mike!
Thanks dude. Watched a couple of videos like this, but your home made tool was a real neat trick. Worked a treat.
excellent!
Helped me a lot, thanks man! It's not that easy until someone show us how to do it properly.
Glad it helped!
Many thanks for the info Phil, just got a new dark blue Casio Edifice (2719 ET125) and have it fitting perfectly on my wrist thanks to your clear instructions. It's always easy once you know how to do it, so have a beer or two on me.
Will do, Boris! Thanks for taking the time to give such a nice comment!
Bought a wave captor and immediately had to alter. Saw a couple of unuseful videos before I found this one. Thanks Phil!
Glad it helped!
Thanks a million. Couldn't have done it without you!!!
Glad I could help!
This was very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make the tutorial.
+MarlSper You're welcome!!! thank you so much for taking the time to respond with a positive comment! glad this helped!
Hey thanks man I just last 20 mins did just what you did with basically the same tools and nail lol, it all worked like a charm and fast. Thanks I'm ordering a kit for future repair/ maintenance of my watches but this is great to know as a diy method 👍
Glad I could help
Thanks, nice and easy.saved me some money..I am now able to wear the watch my two boys got me for Christmas earlier than expected.
Glad I could help, Ian!
Great and helpful video. In my case, a push pin worked very well for initial shove, and saved me the long stroll out to the freezing garage, and the tool box dive in search of small vise grips. Hemostat or needle nose works for pulling loosened links, if you happen to have either of those.
+Greg Tomlinson Thanks for the comment, and adding your tips. Hopefully your tips will help someone else. A push pin might be more available in folks houses than the pliers and nails. Thanks again for the positive feedback!
Thank you so much! I don’t think I could have figured it out myself. But so easy after watching your video, thanks again!
Glad to help. Thanks for taking the time to give me some positive feedback!
Thank you for sharing this how too video, you have saved me money and time the local shop wanted £20 to do this :) thanks again
Julian, I appreciate your positive feedback very much!!!

glad I could help!
Thank you !! Saved me time & money. 15 minutes and done.
SWEET! Glad I can help you out, Thomas!
Great video! Thank you! I had a friend who slashed the top of his thumb trying to get one of those pins out. He nearly bled to death. He had to be rushed to hospital for a blood transfusion.
The watch manufacturers should really make it easier to change the length of the bracelets or at least provide instructions on how to do it easily and safely. Thanks again for your video!!
i know this is 5 year old but i need specifics, how the frick did he lose so much blood from a cut on his thumb
Glad you liked my video. Great story about the cut thumb!(hey....it's been 7 years, but at least I'm catching up..... LOL!). Thanks for watching and commenting, I hope you have enjoyed my channel over these past few years.
@@a4h426 maybe they waited too long before calling the ambulance
It's 2020 yet your post is still helpful. Thank you very much!!!
Now I can wear the souveneir watch given by our company on our 30th anniversary 2 years ago.🙂
You are welcome, Floriza! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
This actually works , and is so easy. Good job man
Thanks for watching and commenting.
That trick w/ the nail & locking plyers is great! Made this so easy to do.
Glad I could help! Thanks for the response.
Thanks a bunch! Saved me time and grief adjusting my new watch band. I used an icepick-like tool instead of the nail and vicegrips.
+Dave Van Rooy I've had other comments from folks saying push-pins work well too. I like having more control over the pointed object, because I'm clumsy! I once ran a screwdriver through my hand trying to pry open a battery compartment lid on a child's toy. But I say, ... whatever works! Thanks for the feedback Dave!
Thank you so much!
The thumbs and index finger working together is important.
Great video.
yes! Glad my video helped!
Thank you, this was very helpful. After a little practice I can now pop links on and off my Casio calculator watch with ease. +1 like from me.
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to comment
Great!!! Just removed 2 links with nothing more than a small electricians flat head screwdriver. And now I have a perfect fitting watch. Thankvyou.
glad my video helped you out, Herman Munster! BTW, Tell Lilly 'hello' for me!
@@PhilCrockett Hahaha, will do. How's Davey btw.
Thank you very much for the video! It saved me quite some time and a little less money :) It worked like a charm, though I had to exert a considerable lot of force to release the keys. Be prepared to that.
glad my video helped! yes... some of the pins need a little more force. Thanks for the feedback!
thank you very much man!!! so useful!! I followed this guide and in 5 minutes I do the work!
I appreciate the positive feedback, Andrea!
Nice I done it myself watching your video , Thanks Phil excellent video !
You're welcome, Lisa!
Thanks for posting. Saved me lots of trouble! You're awesome
YOU'RE AWESOME for taking the time to give me positive feedback! THANKS!
hey man!! thank you a lot dude you saved me 10$ and saved me some time and gas to go to the mall. your video helped me a lot and took me less than 3 minutes I just needed how to take the pins off. thanks a lot
+aiman 13 It makes my day, when one of my videos helps someone. Thanks for the great feedback!
Thank you so much! I happen to have the same exact watch, this makes it a whole lot easier! Thanks 😄
Glad I could help! Thanks for the positive feedback!
Thanks for the video. I've never had a bracelet like this until now. What a pain, but this video shows very well how to do it. Talk about over complicating a simple thing. Those push pins found on other bracelets work perfectly well. These are a tremendous hassle. Thanks though! One thing I'd add is to remove links from the bottom first as many bracelets are somewhat tapered. You don't want to remove links in the middle first.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, you deserve those millions of views.
HA! thanks!
Thank you for this great video. It was just what I needed.
Thanks for the great positive feedback! That's just what I needed!
thanks! your video makes the job simplicity itself...thank you again

Thanks for this. Adjusted my mother's new Casio bracelet in moments after watching this.
Fantastic, John! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Life saver on Christmas. Well done.
+Will McLaren Merry CHRISTmas! Glad this helped you out!
Thanks, Phil. It was very clear.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Don! (6 years ago)..... just now catching up
Thanks for this video because most links and watches have the pin which I’ve done plenty of times I’ve never had a watch with these type of I guess keys! Very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Phil, I congratulate you for your effort, which is rendered with exceptional clarity and excellent demo graphics. Of the three I've viewed, this is by far the most easily understood. Well done! And thanks! (I'd seen the little windows and their raised "bumps", but couldn't divine their function. Thanks for the fishin' lesson.)
John, I appreciate the time you took to respond, as well as your kindness. I'm glad this video advised you.
You're the man Phil ! Thanks a mill for the video.
glad you liked my video! This watch band design really is awful, but once you figure it out, it's not so bad. Thanks for the positive feedback!
thank you ..after seeing this video i adjusted my watch all by myself..thanku so much
So glad I can help you out, Febin!
Thanks for this video! Works great! And you weren't kidding; it takes a lot of force to remove the clips!
You’re welcome!
Good comments ... I took a hardened finishing nail, ground and filed the tip to a 'D' shape the s
same side as the area next to the 'bump'. Insert, lever toward the middle of the band, and e.z. out. Thanks for the info.
Nice work!
I was ready to take a ballpeen hammer to my new Casio...it was that frustrating!....Then I searched for a video...great video..thank you...( I put the ballpeen hammer away.)
HA! I've been that frustrated with things like that before too! Glad I could help you out.
You're the best I would have never figured this out thank you so much for this
UR welcome, Sam!
Removed a link on my timex thanks to you, now it fits without sliding around my wrist.
Great to hear!
Phil, excellent video... much thanks ! My Casio just purchased has the same setup and you made this too easy! :)
Thanks for the great feedback, Jon. Makes my day when I know one of my videos helped someone!
Really useful video, and it worked! Thank you.
You're welcome!
I have a Casio AE1200WHD "Royale" that has the same type of links. I found your demonstration, but as I'm a klutz--I would either mar the bracelet or my fingers--I didn't remove the links they way you did. What I ended up doing is using a pair of jeweler's screw drivers and a pair of needle nose pliers. I noticed that there is a small gap just to the inside (toward the center of the bracelet) near the head of the clip. I was able to insert the smaller of the screwdrivers into this gap and turn it. That moved the clip outward. I followed up with the second screwdriver which forced the little bump to clear the hole and then was able to remove the clip with the pliers. Just throwing this out there as an alternative for anyone like me :)
Great idea
Awesome explaining.
Iam successfully remove my fastrack watch chain link.
Thanq soo much sir. 💐💐💐
You're welcome!
Thank you so much it definitely worked, My Watch is brand new so the links popped so easy. ✌👍🙏
Glad I could help
Hello Phil, thank you for the tutorial, it was a great help for me ... thousandth note! Hugs.
Glad I could help you out
Thank you, it's a very helpful video, my Casio MTD-1079D needed some adjustments. Also I didn't have pliers nor a screw but instead I use a 1.4MM FLAT Head Screwdriver. It was very fiddly but I managed to pull it off.
Great use of another method with the screwdriver. Maybe your tip will help others. Half the battle is just seeing and knowing how something is put together. Glad my video helped you out. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Muhitul!
Thanks for posting! You just saved me £20 Sterling, which is what the retailer wanted for removing a link (!)
Glad I can help! Thanks for the positive feedback!
A perfect demonstration. Thanks for sharing.
+shunmugavel manickam Thanks for the nice comment! So glad my video helped you!
Properly explained, i did that without any problem 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
