Hey i just rerolled to firemage and im having a blast playing it. I get better every day but im not able to pull off does numbers, especially in aoe im like 200k at my highest and i think i should do better with the gear and stats i have. Im at 31 haste rn and 27 mastery with 4 piece. Trinkets : Talon and ragefeather ... 401gs... do i need better aoe trinkets ? And i have 2 more question: Is there a haste cap for us ? And whats the addon that shows the combust time on ur characterpicture? Keep up ur videos helped me alot already
The addon showing my combust time on character picture is BigDebuffs I believe, actually a pvp addon, lol. As for your trinkets, those are both very viable, ragefeather and talon are great. What level of keys are you doing? Fire can't do big damage unless adds live for a significant amount of time so that our ignite ramp can spread, that could definitely be playing a factor
I'd argue frost for the moment - Fire won't perform well in low keys, arcane requires setup and some stat thresholds to feel good. Frost can pump at any ilvl and feel great regardless of key level. Frost or Arcane, whichever feels better to play for you
Hello. I want to try understand pyroclasm. U say in ur guide video cast pyroclasm under 5sbk stack but in this dungeon u never cast whitout sbk. Now whats the right way? Big thanks for videos ❤
You're 100% right - I should be using more of my Pyroclasm procs at 5 stacks or under. In this particular dungeon there is a lot of swirlies on the ground making it harder to hard cast pyros, but it is a DPS gain to use them under 5 stacks. I definitely should be hard casting more without SKB, but it is a pretty minor gain in the big picture.
@@programozoleszek1122 No, definitely use Pyroclasm. If you're going to get Phoenix Reborn, you have to cut Cauterize. Overall Pyroclasm is a really big gain for when we do hard cast our pyros, but the optimization of spending them has minor damage min/maxing. Pyroclasm is still the best choice for single target and AOE
I'm really struggling to finish a dungeon with good damage on fire, i do way better on arcane I don't know what i;m doing wrong :( is there anything i could be overlooking in terms of gameplay? Maybe letting ignite fall of cleave targets...or combust timers aren't good.
Fire can only do good damage if a pack lives for a significant amount of time so our ignite can build up - if you aren't pushing high keys, fire might feel bad in keystones under level 15 compared to a burst class like arcane. Combust is also a lot of muscle memory and takes some time to build that muscle memory, but yeah. My tank is constantly looking to build routes around double pulls to look to get me to be able to build my ignite, fires damage can get hard carried by a good tank & tank route.
I'm spamming it twice, time warp doesn't go on cooldown after first use if you aren't sated with the talent so it is as simple as clicking it twice, haha. I click it so that I never accidently lust, seen it enough times to never do it myself
What is your opnion on Mastery vs Versatility status ? Is better to focus on only one as 2nd or keep close one when you can't get haste ? Or makes a lot of diference on AoE/Single Target ? I'm confused about it, what should i do ?
Mastery is our second best stat in general, versatility is something you don't typically look for unless you are pushing really high keys - even then, we use vers phial and that gives us quite a bit of survivability. Focus on haste and mastery. Mastery makes our ignites hit harder, which increases our AOE, but we still prioritize haste over all. I try to remember that talent when playing, it's kind of hardwired to do it from Shadowlands for me but you're right, haha. I think the rule is to try and hold phoenix flames until under 9 seconds on combust, but I'm definitely using them frequently
I use double passive at the moment, in this video I used 415 ruby whelp shell with haste training and then 421 incarnate icon. Two big stat sticks, and ruby whelp shell gives a lot of haste when he procs at around 15% uptime.
@@HOBOTw1tcH Ehhh, I'd sim to be certain, but I think ragefeather is better for consistency - if your whelp shell decides he's going to give haste during combust, he's probably better. Depends when you're proccing, little bit of RNG
This may be an odd question, but I know Scorch has a lot of value in a targets execute phase; however, I see you scorch sometimes without targets being in that phase. Is there a reason why? I'm new to playing fire mage figured I'd ask. My best guess is to avoid downtime.
If I have forced movement i'm looking to scorch so I can always be casting, but if I am out of instant casts in combust scorch is also a filler to generate hot streak ASAP.
@@pumptastic Which is amazing on quaking week - schorching while runnin (because better then nothing right) then instantly regret that because of fire lock. That was most painfull week so far
@Marek Blaha i know the pain, because there are also so many kicks in the game right now, I highly suggest getting comfortable pressing escape to cancel casts. I have long spider fingers so it's easy for me but maybe someone else with shorter fingers might want it to be alt+(insert key)

When you click lust, are you double clicking it? Always curious how you double lust. Just because it looks like you only click once

Hey! You shouldn't use Phoenix flames as much as you're doing. You're losing mastery each time you're pressing it due to the "From the Ashes" talent.
