    Is it actually possible to be new player? It seems like it's all a rush reserved for players who've never been absent from every expansion.
    I came back after playing a decent amount of Legion. I tried running dungeons at level 20 and was immediately kicked for not knowing any of the boss fights.

    • @pumptastic
      @pumptastic  10 месяцев назад +1

      Getting into WoW at that level just straight up requires more knowledge and time investment than 99% of games. It can easily lead to bad experiences in game if you don't already know what to do. My advice is to play casually, and when you're confident with what you know, then try and push content. I started out as an LFR only guy, it's rare to start endgame content off rip

      first of all you should check video called "Almost complete history of WoW" so you have some idea of what the fuck is going on (because trust me, that world and it's history is equally as complex as our world) and pretty much everything else you can learn as you go. Don't go in with the mindset "I need to know so I'm efficient" you won't be, there are established communities of veterans making world's first every time, whatever you can do in this game, someone already did. Go in as an adventurer willing to learn, fail, get back up and die again. There are around 50 000 collectibles including mounts, appearances, heirlooms, toys, pets, titles, achievements, guild achievements etc. You will never be bored again. Just stay conscious of real time, because you can "wake up" in 10 years from now and still not have everything collected haha

    I recently started playing WoW a couple of months ago during brew fest and I’ve been playing ever since, it’s such an exciting game and the community is very friendly for the most part. I’ve had no problem getting introduced to the game by random people I’ve met in the world, my item level is now 394, i haven’t done like any of the campaigns, the only one I’ve finished completely is dragonisles and now I’m at that point where everything gives me bad loot except for like Mythics and weeklys.

  • @pumptastic

    Your first character is forced to do Battle for Azeroth for whatever reason - content is fine after you get past the long instance quest. I am going to include some WoW lingo that I forgot to explain in the video incase you don't know some of the words I used -
    IO - This is a players "rating" for Mythic+, or harder versions of dungeons.
    "Pugging" - This just means looking for a group in the group finder for the content you want to do.
    Raiding - Doing raid content with a larger group, usually 10+ people.
    Mythic+ - Harder versions of dungeons that scale with the key level. Higher you go, the more difficult it gets

      It's a good idea! Once you get past the first Zone (and past level 10) You can right click on your picture and click "Edit Mode" to change your interface to the way you like it. You can also add more skill bars in the "Skill bars" options in your Settings. This is very useful for when your skill bar is full and You need more space. Hope you find a layout that is comfortable for you and not too confusing!@@-JackK2412

    I want to try wow but eeeh I don’t think the game is very casual friendly. Seems like a lot of focus on needing to know your stuff to do content like dungeons amongst other stuff... unless I am misunderstanding. This is just what I am gathering from RUclips vids I have been watching. Plus if I do content I enjoy experiencing it blind the first few times.
    Hmmm maybe I’ll test the waters and play for the story and exploring. I do love to explore!

    • @pumptastic
      @pumptastic  Год назад +1

      At the base level, you can 100% enjoy it as a casual. You don't need to know mechanics to have fun with it, but the most overwhelming part is user interface and learning what does what. Definitely has a large entry to barrier starting out, but after that it's very enjoyable. Exploration and questing were very enjoyable for me when I started playing, but everyone enjoys different things :)

      I've played wow on and off since I was 11 (16 years) and I've never ever taken the game seriously, I don't raid, and the highest tier I've ever done is heroic dungeons, I love the game, a few things are explained in exiles reach (starter area) and the rest just comes with time, the world is beautiful, lots of secrets to uncover, and thousands upon thousands of quests to do. I get to play for probably around 5 hours a week, and I always log off feeling fulfilled.
      An MMO mouse helps massively!
      Try it out you'll be glad you did!

    • @pumptastic
      @pumptastic  9 месяцев назад +1

      An external app called Curseforge helps with addon installation - makes it one click from their app, and you can update addons easily from it.
      The other site for addons is Weakauras, which are mini-addons that help for a bunch of different things in-game.
      Hopefully not too confusing

    Why dont you ever talk about unique class specific abilities such as mages portal training? These types of class specific abilities are one of the few big reasons people want to play WoW because of that cool factor. And I know its because these arent available fast and tangibly, which is why many leave the game early. Nobody talks about these and thats a huge problem. These cool factors need heavy reinforcement yet its odd no content creator really talks about them. Like how can I tame awesome beasts as a hunter? Theres just very few guides like that with QUALITY tips and guidance.

    • @pumptastic
      @pumptastic  Год назад

      Then look for class-specific guides and not a general overview. No general guide is going to talk about either mage portal training or "awesome pets" because it is completely irrelevant when learning the game. The unique abilities are what draw you to play a specific class, not keep you playing it. Cool factors are meant for advertisers, not content creators. If not learning a portal spell makes you quit the game, then you should have quit anyway.

    • @juaecheverria0
      @juaecheverria0 Год назад +4

      @@pumptastic The problem is ive seen 4 already on the top list and none even mentioned the tomes needed to unlock extra beasts to tame. And frankly your reaction with how hostile and gatekeepy y'all are seem to be exactly the reason why people quit. I still love the game myself but i have more of an endeavor in mind. Im just letting you know, this continuation of ignorance and rudeness is not making the community more fun at all. And you should want to help that but of course its not your job. Its just a polite request. Because this game is NOT beginner friendly at ALL. Exhibit A right here lmao.

    • @Kjar2Much
      @Kjar2Much 9 месяцев назад

      @@erth8096That’s a weak excuse to avoid even trying out PvP. It’s quite literally the one of the biggest components in World of Warcraft. The fact it’s not on this list is disingenuous to the fun that can be had in the game.
      Elden Ring is considered to be one of the hardest games in recent years, with a story and progression path where most people don’t have a clue what’s going on, but it’s also wildly successful. PvP isn’t “hard” to learn. You spend just as much time learning other systems in the game as you would PvP. And that’s the beauty of this game, you can PvE, PvP, Achievement hunt, Transmog hunt, Pet battle, RP, or whatever. You can literally choose what you want to do. Leaving out PvP because it’s too hard for YOU is so fucking weak.
