We are starting of in the outskirts of The Hague from were we will head southwards towards the village of Naaldwijk. For this special escort we will be taking the scenic route while passing through some small villages along the coastline.

This is an honorary escort of a police officer that is been driven in the car to his retirement party that is about to retire, so no time pressure and a nice opportunity to show of their skills. This doesn't happen much but is a nice way to salute the officer to retirement, but also a great opportunity to practice for the escort detail.
As a bike rider myself I enjoyed that all the way through but then when the reason was made clear I enjoyed the end even more!! What a great send off for someone who must have been a very popular colleague! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!! Amazing teamwork Well done Dutch Police.
Very smooth, very skillful - a wonderful tribute to their retiring colleague
An escort of the highest honour amazing way for fellow colleagues to show their respect for another colleagues years of long service and done with with out putting the general public at risk.
I salute the police officers for their friendlyness. "please stop followed with a thank you" and a thumbs up when people oblige..... We see that a lot different in many countries!
You salute, then asking people to stop, I'm confused, so tell me what you on about then, also about friendliness, not all loliceare friendly site are friendly and some are nasty and the rest in-between dint know which way to go, some may b good, and some may b bad but its the rest we don't know about
Can you please translate this post into English
The more of these videos from the Netherlands I see, the more I get excited about coming on holiday to the Netherlands, thank you from New Zealand ❤️
At first I thought it was for a fallen Colleague (which I'm so pleased it wasn't), how long had the Retiring Officer served for, a great video. Ride Safe, Stay Safe
This is what they do, in case of a fallen officer: ruclips.net/video/HtJVhil6jNY/видео.htmlsi=cuTm7LnfEMzgjp9t
Spoilers man
The "movable camera" others are referring to, I'm pretty sure is actually a 360° camera (which produces spherical footage, technically). The view we get in this video (I'm pretty sure) is a rectangular projection of that spherical footage, with some dragging around occasionally
Probably something like one of the Insta 360 X series cameras (Have the X3 myself)
Blablabla
@@sjefhendrickx2257 Exactly what I think of your comment!
What great training for these officers and other road users. For the officers it was a rewarding one as well. Not much delay for other road users and I’m impressed how observant and obedient they all were. Excellent video
Wow! Just brilliant, and what a tribute to the retiring officer!
I must say how observant Dutch drivers are,and what a nice thing to do for a retiring officer.
I like the “movable” camera on one of your motorbikes,it’s gives us a new idea of how skilful you guys are. ❤❤😊😊
Excellent narration, informative without going over the top. Brilliant video.
Thank You!
In Rotterdam they do in the most special way....the retired officer will be picked up in a old patrol car the Famous Chevrolet Suburban C10 patrol car with blue lights and sirens
I love watching the way these guys operate. Most impressive. Would I sit and watch a cop on a bike for half an hour? When it's a team like this definitely.
Lovely tribute, the best camera work I have seen, well done
Great to have the camera on top of the police motorbike blue light rear pole. Good video. Thanks.
I bet there was tears being held back.
I am amazed how obedient all the car drivers (and most cyclists) are to the whistle and hand signal instructions from the escorts. Can't see this working in the overcrowded streets/road and angry, self-entitled drivers in the UK!
Have a look at the Met Polices' Special Escort Group (SEG) who do the Royal and diplomatic runs in London. Whistles and light only.
I'm ex military, I drove under police escort with the Queens Baggage detail. The Police were well ( extremely) trained in shepherding a convoy of 8 vehicles. I felt safe.
That was BRILLIANT. It wouldn't happen in Britain, the Anglo-Saxons don't care about the ordinary person. Good to see that the continent still treats workers as real humans. I loved this,
Anglo-Saxons 💀
In the UK it's a bit more hidden but please be aware a retiring officer is honoured.
@@X94Caz I know it happens. Everyone, above the rank of sergeant, is "honoured" at the local Freemason's lodge.
Anyone, sergeant and below, is not allowed to attend a lodge.
I have a lot of respect for those bikers!
les motards de la police font un excellent travail en matière d'escorte .Bravo
I see from the comments that whingers are international. Great riding by the police, and my compliments to the civilian drivers there for their respect of the law. Unfortunately not always universal.
I am from the UK and thats wounderful
The weather looked so gloomy. Reminds me of my time in UK as an international student there. I suffered depression during the winter time. I'm from Asia, so its a bit of getting used to it in UK. 😊
But I must say, u have very beautiful country side sceneries
Apart om een escort te zien met drie spitsers en zonder commandant.
Mooie video. 👌🏻
Oh wat gaaf zeg.... Zo hoort dat!
How cool is that? That's how it should be!
Thank you. The camera is amazing
Great video - I really enjoyed this one . What a nice change!
dank je wel en de groeten uit Nederland
Als je dit ziet ben ik zeker trots op hoe onze corpsen werken en hoe wij Nederlanders hun signalen en handgebaren opvolgen
Congratulations on your retirement. Well done to you all
Brilliant work very good team
Groeten uit het westland, Monster, leuk om te zien.
It seems like a pretty relaxed pace for the police car so it can't have been much of an emergency.
These officers regularly train to keep their skills on the high level needed fort this kind of jobs so, just another training run.
Like a well oiled machine............
good video, i liked the camera on the motorcycle
I also think it police colleague retiring that is high up, from South Africa
Super cam-video.
Strange to take several risks for no emergency situation.....
like driving to work
See it as an training excercise for the escort. They also excercise with ambulances with no one in the back straight through the city heart of Rotterdam. These guys are pros.
I found this fascinating and highly skilled.
Just wow amazing ❤❤
It would be pretty cool if you could link the original video so we can also watch that
I'm not sure about their jackets.
Back in the 1970s, dutch motorcycle cops wore white leather jackets and black leather trousers with a white stripe, I loved their uniforms.
Wonderful video. Great honour to their colleague upon his retirement. I do wonder regarding the resource cost. He got to the station but how did he get back home after his last shift?
By the traditional retirement trebuchet.
@@petertenthije😂
Via Trebuchet. 😂😂👍
A fellow Officer.
It took me 28 minutes to figure it our
Cool camera!
Plz video in GREECE 🇬🇷
The village of Monster!😂😂😂😂
What do you think the inhabitants of Monster are called?
Training run.
This is real on road training under normal road and driver conditions.
You don't use untrained riders in a real emergency situation.
Ambulance and Police personal also go out on training runs.
You have to hone your skills.
Well I was wrong, just watched all the vid.
Question for the poster of this video: Was the policeman on the bike ( nbr 49) followed by a drone?
It’s a wide angle camera, mounted on the back of the motorbike
@@Emergency-POV ok, thanks for info
i wonder if he wore handcuffs??
Thanks for sharing.
This is an excellent example of how things should be done.
What about the pore truck sent down a side road for no reason
how long do the officers have to plan the route and how much notice do they get that their services are needed
I assume, with no specific knowledge of your question, that they typically have a large window of opportunity to plan the route.
I'm assuming this, because the majority seem to be organised hospital transfers that are booked on for a specific date. It's the fact they can't stay out of a hospital bed for long that they need the escort, not the fact that they are a sudden emergency.
De zwarte handschoenen zijn niet ideaal.
No wheelies?? -1
hahahah das er weer 1`minder! lol!
Is this the Make-A-Wish ride for a kid who suffered from cancer?
Why are they so spread out?🤔
I would like to ask what make and model of bike these people use?
BMW F800gs is one type they used, however those within the video look to be BMW R1200rt's, also know they use the R1200gs as well. Difference between the two models of the 1200s is the blue light placement on the back, on the rt's its positioned like you see in the video, on the gs it's on the compartment box that sits on the back.
Not entirely sure, but i think most of them nowadays are BMW R 1250 RT-P
No no no my friends, at the moment the Team verkeer - team traffic - use BMW K 1600, that is a 6 cilinder in line, for there work. Soon to be replaced for.....?
What is the function of the one riding behind the car?
In Denmark the motorcyclists open the traffic again. But I think it will not be used if only one car is escorted.
@@jenslaustenhansen3081 I thought that the fact that the convoy already passed meant like the road is open again.
He clears the intersection after the other officer's stop sign
He is the controller/ navigator. The car is not part of the operation because it also could be a minister or ambulance although then he would ride just in front if they have no radio
VIP
Why they not have sirens?
Well, for one thing, it worked pretty nicely without them; I get the feeling that the dutch are quite observant when it comes to the road. Also, this whole operation is more of a private thing -- sure, it's probably been cleared with everyone involved, but at the end of the day it's not an emergency run. Likely, they actively chose a time with low traffic as well.
So, I'm guessing they kept it a bit on the low side and only used the sirens at the end. Which, I guess, also works nicely for the passenger in terms of "choreography" -- more isn't always better, if you chose the right moment.
Blue lights without sirenes , give no legal priority ( Prio 1 ) and the use of both at the same time requires permission from the Dispatch Senior officer ( Inspector ) . As this was not a real emergency the solution is to use blue lights only just to attrack attention of all drivers. In fact no legal priority 1 status during driving.
However when stopped , the handsigns of the officers are legal signs, which always have to be obeyed by all traffic users.
Use of only blue lights is to get somewhere faster without Prio 1 ( and is often used )
President?
First btw u dropped a pin. Can i have it and i think he is retiring
Spreco di risorse e abuso di potere...
Must have cost the Taxpayers a fortune.
They're leaving WAY too big a gap between the leader bike(s) and the cop car. :(
Indeed. When you look at the videos, in which they escort an ambulance, that gap is much smaller.
These guys are dutch top brass escorting e.g royal family, UN officials ; cabinet ministers ; ambassadors , foreign head of states / VIP's as The Hague is the residence of all those national ans international institutes.
This was really an easy peasy job with low trafic , so where is the problem ?
@@omervandenbelt That’s a emergency escort this is a honorary escort two different things
Just ridiculous "THEY'RE EGO TRIPPERS"
How amazing.

@@nicohakvoort4998 Waste of money or like: Yeeeeeey
Hes on pension FINALLY we got rid of him ! Glad we didn't have to hand out traffic speeding tickets today.
@@Bladel1965 zo een fles azijn op?
@reneveld7452 had volgende een fles bleek?
where I think the gesture is sweet I just can't get behind the total waste of police resources for this
So you would like a fantasy scenario, or a real life problem. There is no difference other than a person is involved or a figment of imagination. What is easier????
It doesn't look like an emergency or something critical at all - no reason to escort anything that isn't an emergency or critical.
Looks like joyriding is done any anyone though.
These officers regularly train to keep their skills on the high level needed fort this kind of jobs so, just another training run.
So basically a abuse of police authority. This is something you really hope Dutch police would not do. A disciplinary punishment would be a good thing.
You're delusional.
What a pitty ..... tax payers money wasted to please someone. This is exact the kind of action that is reprimanded if any casual civilian does it and gets caught in the act. Those officers should know that they can not use service vehicles and/or means just to please someone. They are breaking the law where they should uphold it. And even if this mission was authorized by their superiors, those superiors should realize that they can not give such authorizations. The use of blue lights and/or sirens is only permitted in cases of emergency assignments .... which was definitely not the case here. When those who should uphold the law are the ones breaking it all respect for authority and law is gone. This is setting a really bad example.
These officers regularly train to keep their skills on the high level needed fort this kind of jobs so, just another training run.
A lot of escorts of VIP’s are done with lights and sirens as well. So no, not only in case of an emergency.
I rather see them “wast” money on him/her than on illegals. He/her contribute to our society not the illegals
A VIP escort is always an emergency, in order to keep the "window of attack" as small as possible so high speed is of essence. Thus the use of lights and sirens.
@@charlesmallo If it was a training run the fact of "escorting" a colleague was of no importance but only a side effect. Thus in fact the title of the video is a lie: the escort would not have been a present to a colleague but just a training run. Which of course sounds a bit less dramatic or appealing than what is proposed here. This only underscores my initial comment: what a pitty.
Boring ... what a waste of my time!
How can we make it up to Your Highness?
I'm guessing the escort is for a fallen friend or colleague
