I love these old shows. I’m so glad they were saved on tape so that we can continue to enjoy them!

It was only due to people interested and was not a common practice. If you notice, this isn't the original recording.

My great grandmother was born in 1875 (died in 1975) and lived to see her great-great grandson (my son) who was born in 1972. She lived during a time in history where everyone used a horse and buggy to get around, through the invention of the automobile and saw a man land on the moon. What a time to experience.

My great grandmother lived to the age of 98. She also experienced the same history as your great grandmother, horse and buggy to the moon landing. She saw it all.

Bill Cullen nervously at 7:10 "Please say you did, because the way things are now...". What a great line in light of the half dozen fixed game show scandals that had come to light, including convening of grand juries and Congressional hearings over the preceding 18 months.

Seeing Charles Blood of the Kansas City Star was a real hoot. He retired in 1963, when I was seven, so I remember his column in the paper.

The old gentleman that been at the same job for 75 yrs. was amazing. Covering the San Francisco earthquake .wow Not many people do that now. They want a job for a week or two, then their off to another. These older people are usually a dedicated bunch of people, and had strong work ethics. Some of the stunts they pulled on the shows were so funny. Bringing in a cow poop ing on the stage was hilarious and animals , like that canyon horse and dog on a previous show was great. Thanks for the memories.

Thank you for these old shows. Love the Navy guy. My Uncle was on the USS ORVETTA as a cook , He could cook better than a woman. This made me think of him. He served all that time in the service, only to come home and die in a plane crash. Sad

People would collect dried cow patties to use in their fireplaces, wood burning stoves, campfires when they had no wood to burn for cooking purposes, or to merely keep warm.
