I had an 81 XT 250 that was stolen. Gor it back 5 mo later and it was beat. Lights taken off, wires cut and numerous dents. Loved that bike even on its death bed. Cool video. Got my wheels churning to find another. New sub today as well. Keep them vids and projects rolling.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate the comment, viewing and subscription! Sorry to hear about your bike. Stories like that about break my heart. Hope you find another bike and get out there to have yourself some more adventures 👍🏻
@@onemilemore541 all good! I’d rather quality over quantity anyway. Your long form videos just work well and I love the budget fun focus. I really hope I can get out to the trans wisco trail this year. Partially inspired by your series of riding it
Thanks so much, I really appreciate the comment! I can’t help but wonder sometimes if I am too long winded and the video becomes boring. So glad to hear that may not be the case for some. Hello Germany!!
Good job on the build. I saw the awesome road trip you took this on. I went through a similar process to you when I restored an XT550 over the past year. I painted my tank too and saw the flaws show up after the primer coat. I haven’t re-spoked my wheels yet but after watching this, I think thats next on my to do list. Nice work and videography.
Excellent video. I have several bikes I have been putting off starting work on because I didn't know if I knew enough to really do the work. Your video was very encouraging. Was pretty cool that you showed your screw-ups as well as the final victory. Guess I should just suck it up and go for it. Thanks for the video!
I can relate to being nervous about digging into something when you’re not sure how to do it. It can be pretty intimidating. Fortunately, in our information age, there’s plenty of knowledge to tap into. Good luck with your projects. I hope you can dig in and enjoy some success. If you don’t give it a try, you’ll never know. Thanks so much for the comment, I sure appreciate it!

Interesting video... I have a 1969 Bultaco Matador 250 that I purchased in 2012, and it sat in my shop until 2018 when I finally got around to restoring it. However it has a fiberglass tank so I needed to coat the inside of it "CASTWELL". But even though I followed the instructions the stuff peeled off after I had given the outside of the tank about 25 coats of primer and paint and I had trouble with the electronic ignition so it is parked again... But one of these days I will get back to it...
Aw man, I feel your pain. I haven’t had much luck with the gas tank liners either. Even in metal tanks it seems to eventually peel. Sure hope you can figure things out. I’d imagine there’s not nearly the information for a Bultaco but boy would that be cool if you got it figured out! That’s proper vintage!
Hey Todd. Great video. At the end of the Trans Wisconsin Trail part 2 you were explaining the time it takes to edit videos. I’m sure I’m not the only one interested in the Kawasaki? That was in the background.
I had one other guy ask about the headlight/windscreen I put together for it. I sold that bike last year. It was a good bike and was the one that got me into dual sport riding. Thanks for the comment!👍🏻
@@onemilemore541 I’m actually currently watching your build videos for the (probably) 12th time. So good. Can’t wait to see your next adventure. My buddies and I are looking to get into the Trans Wisconsin Trail early next year. I pickup a new XR650 at the end of this week. We are planning on staying in hotels/lodging our first time out. Thank you for the videos.
Great video. Well done. Would like to see more of this and the other bikes that went on the trip.
Thanks so much, I appreciate the input! I’ll see if I can get the other guys to video their bikes more as they work on them 👍🏻
I enjoyed that build, and you've got plenty more miles in the tank, so keep kicking them out 👍🏼
Thanks, I really appreciate it! I’ll keep going then 👍🏻
