Dude you save my life on wondering where that washer goes that you pointed out. The one that falls out and then you wonder where it goes, that one! Thanks!!!!
One thing to note: The small inner ratchet has a stamp on it as well as the inner shaft that goes into the case. You line these up to get the correct return spring tennsion on the shaft. You can see these for a flash of a second in the video. It could be a simple mistake if you don't line these up and do it right. It can leave you scratching your head if it doesn't quite want to work right. Hope this is a bonus to a good vid.
The money shot is right about at the 1:18 to 1:21 look for those stamps in the gear and shaft.... LOL...he says you really can't mess it up...but I beg to differ...you can. Again this is to help out with a good vid.... just the cherry on the gear head sunday.
@@luhjet I found it easiest to assemble the entire mechanism out of the bike then slide it all into place but I had my clutch off so there was more room to work with. Make sure to line up the circular punch marks which are on the shaft facing in towards the engine and on the small ratchet. Then, try to carefully hold it all together and slide it into place, then turn it to the right until it stops and lastly pull the spring over to the right and put it in the hole. This video shows everything in good detail minus the punch marks to line up.
Huge help, just bought a 2007 honda crf250r and when I kicked it I could tell the spring was just about gone and the gear felt like it was toast, sure enough it was. Thanks for the help on getting this back together.
Time to do my RMZ. The the teeth that let the kickstart connect when going down and return coming up. I think the teeth are sheered off. Every 3-4 kicks it just doesn’t catch and makes such a horrible sound. So I been bump starting it. Feel a little more confident doing it now
what is the bolt that connect the kickstarter to the driveshaft spring??? i have no idea where to buy it. i replaced my kickstarter and from where the kickstart lever connects the the drive shaft grooving there is supposed to be a bolt..... where the hell do it find this bolt? lmao
hello ive just got myself a crf250r 2004 and my kickstart has got a wobble ive checked my brothers 2008 and his doesn’t have it could you tell me what it could be please cheers
I tried to remove the assembly on my RMZ 250 because my kickstarter shaft broke, but somehow I can't get it out, seems like the gear behind the clutch is blocking it or I'm doing somth. wrong lol. You got any tips for me, for remove the assembly? :P
got a problem myself. bike is crf250r 2011 .goes down and stays down but you can pull it up manually. and when i took it apart and put the kickstarter on it without the cover, it goes up fine, as soon as i put cover back on it is sticky

Bro my kickstarter spring failed this is the first video I found that shows orientation of the spring collar (the notched washer) thank you.
This video was exactly what I need, I was so confused with how the kickstart lever’s gear would let the gears move freely
Just the job my son and I have to do next weekend, thanks. Great video.

Yes you can move it to another spline position to get the right tension on the spring
Thanks, this helped me get mine back together! I made sure to line up the punch marks on the small ratchet and shaft.
hey , please explain what you did a bit more

Those two gears CAN get screwed up, you must align the punch marks located on shaft and gear, the marks face the case.
So I need to replace my Kickstarter how do I open it like how you have to start looking at the internal parts
Fantastic video. Thanks.
Mama said let your dowels be your guide.

Ian collins did u figure out your problem. I'm having the same
Does turning it work on a wr250f?
You forgot to lineup the dots, on the end of the shaft and the inner gear.
should use two screwdrivers to seat the washer and use a socket to go over to evenly seat the spring but oh well
Do you have to drain your oil or coolant before
Yes
nice video! thanks for help. but next time please get higher sound. appriciate it
pov u forgot to put spring in hole
That is not the transmission...
