Awesome examples! What are pros and cons of every variant?

All of these are nice, but in my experience building my own Lego cars from scratch, they all share a distinct problem... They use too much space in the wheel well. And because of that, you either end up with enormous wheel wells, or very small tires.
The true challenge is making a steering system where the wheel rotates around an axis in the middle of the wheel itself, rather than an axis outside of the wheel.
Id get around this by using the very big wheels where you can fit the entire steering mechanism inside the rim of course... but i dont have enough lego, or the budget to buy enough to make a body for such a big build...
I'd really like to see your take on a system for a 4-6 dots tire that need as little wheel well space as possible.

No idea what to use for the axels just now. Otherwise it's good info.

Just asking, where do you get the pieces? Are there special "mechanical" packs, do you buy them individually or do they come with sets?

I got most of my pieces from LEGO Technic sets, you can buy them from LEGO.com or any other store. Have a nice day ☺️

Hey, do you think you could make a veraion with a proper steering knuckle that can have actual Toe Out On Turns?
