They added the gun when I was in the middle of my second playthrough. I was bad at fighting Kallamar, and I was nervous to fight Shamura, but I got the gun for the first time when I entered the area. I no-hit them first try, despite having not played in months.
I find it funny that they marketed the blunder as a long distance weapon, it's really not long range at alllll it's super effective if you sneak your way close to the enemy and shoot it point blank but barely tickles enemies that are farther away
if i remember correctly when you unlock a new weapon tier (except godly weapons) they are guaranteed to show up until you pick them up so you couldve just picked it up and died in the next room to reset the starting room weapon
The Gun is the best weapon in my opinion, especially for Berserker Fleece purgatory runs. The gun combined with the Fleece’s insane 10x attack bonus makes the heavy attack a 2 hit combo on any enemy or boss that isn’t Narinder’s eyes. It’s absolutely insane. Unlike other weapons, the gun’s heavy attack is also just as spamable as the regular attack, and if you hold down, it can reach halfway across the largest room layouts. I was literally one shot sniping enemies from the silk cradle from across the battlefield. Not to mention the game slows down when you’re aiming the Heavy, so you get a nice clean shoot. I’ve never felt so powerful in any game before. Crazy shit.
This challenge is most definitely easier now that we have Unholy Alliance and the Pilgrim Pack DLC, which gives you a COWBOY OUTFIT FLEECE that guarantees you the Blunderbuss when worn

I would get the buffs from empowered shrine of disciples usually getting a 30-60 % weapon damage increase combine with the blunderbuss felt disgustingly illegal. Anybody who cross pass with me will mostly die in 1 to 2 shots. I also love to have the arachnid tarot card for extra lethality :3
What’s the earliest point one can get the gun, I wonder? I just got the game yesterday and tried respawning for ages in Darkwood for the gun and it just never shows up
Pretty sure the earliest is supposed to be after unlocking Silk Cradle, but sometimes it spawn earlier. You can probably just use the “Force Weapon” thing settings accessibility tab and use the gun. (I just get it early in this playthrough because the gun just came out and they increased the chances of finding it)

It is by far my favorite weapon and it gets better when you upgrade it to master level

Lmao exactly. I'll fully charge and hit a enemy from far for like 3 of there 100 hp, but can 1 shot a boss normally
Probably because of the heavy attack where the range is increased and becomes a bit of a sniper shotgun.
With any bonus damage you can long range
The final attack in the gauntlet combo has a much further range than blunderbuss lmao
