- The Menderbug's Revenge Mod is a really silly challenge mod for Hollow Knight that will kill you if you break any background objects such as signs and grass. I decided to attempt a True Ending run with this mod on, here's how it went.

I imagine menderbug views the world from the perspective of the camera and is just holding a sniper rifle waiting for the knight to accidentally break an object.
Someone came up with another character instead for this, Enderbug. 😂
QGA is just a little more punishing with this mod.

This run made me realize just how much property damage the knight causes during a run.

While I do understand what you're saying... grass respawns when you leave and re-enter an area. So dying would respawn all grass.

@@CouldBeChara oh wait right I forgot that grass% had a counter. I'm just dumb lol. Worst part of that would be making sure you keep track of which ones you've cut. Is there only one piece of nursery grass or would you have to do PoP multiple times?
@@trickytreyperfected1482 I think there are three pieces of grass in the nursery, but maybe Vengeful spirit could clear all three.

This might the only route to Radiance where it makes sense to say "soul warrior is too hard, let's do watcher knights first"
Can’t wait for grass % but with this mod.
It is possible. You have to cut the grass once to count toward grass%, so all you have to do is cut every grass but die every time you cut one. Of course you can probably get multiple at a time using shade soul etc. It would probably still be shorter than low% true ending.

Now that I think about it... if you destroy like a lantern in White Palace, you die. So this means that Menderbug fixes that too. So he can actually go to dreams and so he also has a dream nail!!!

I feel like there could be a softer version of this where hitting an object just makes you take damage instead of killing you. Maybe even double damage

I have a guess for what the mod decides will kill you if you break it, aside from being unavoidable! I think it's that, anything that respawns, that is implied that Menderbug fixes. like signs and statues and,, grass ig they're the ultimate grass grower or something. They all will kill you. But things that stay broken, like geo rocks, those door things, and the wood planks, don't, bc Menderbug doesn't try with those

Would it be possible to do this on steel soul mode? I can't think of any major roadblocks except for having to use longnail on the elder baldur to get into greenpath because of that one piece of grass behind it
Not being able to shade skip into Blue Lake could present problems depending on the necessary rerouting
Fireborn played this on steel soul, he was on Monomon when the mod glitched and killed him

@@fanofindiegamesunpopulargames it is a glitch though because the mod is if YOU break something you die. Fire didn't break anything the electricity broke a background object

I had a stupid run in with invincibility… so it was modded, but none of the mods gave invincibility, it was just QOL and custom knight I think. I was like half way through P5, I though I was getting so lucky, hadn’t been hit once… and then… I touched spikes, and I knew… I just wasted a lot of time
if you make it through the whole game with this mod the final boss is Absolute Menderbug

You can use certain charms to damage enemies but not objects such as the weaverlings or defender's crest charms.
