I don't know If I'm spelling it correctly but I would get the throw blanket ( not in pink obviously haha)... I would get the flowers and the comforter set. Oh and the pink storage box. Imma just limit what I'd get to those items so my comment is not a page long. You have a VERY nice setup and lovely room. Yeah always put your safety first so it's smart that you didn't list your Dorm location!!! You're definitely one of my favorite youtubers!!! Keep it up and your channel is going to BLOW!!! GO HAYDEN!!!!!
I think you did an amazing job creating this video! As a teacher, I think you are very well-spoken and as a mom, your information is very helpful to an incoming freshman. Thank you!

Hi! You have a lot to be excited about, I was the same way! The dimensions are 11x13 ft I believe….it actually was smaller than most of the Michigan dorms and feels smaller in person but it worked out perfectly!
Hi, just like you Bursley was not my first choice but I've been researching about the place because I'll stay there next year. I like your room. I have one question though, is there AC?
If for whatever reason you want AC, if you have a doctor's note they can add it onto your room... which I didn't know until I moved in. However it does take up one of the windows and you won't be able to open the window. Also, despite what people say, I am beyond glad that I lived in Bursley my freshman year and I hope you make amazing memories there!
I tried going to the link I had saved to see what the size was however, it no longer exists. I believe it was either 4x6 or 5x7... sorry that I couldn't be more help.
Hi Hayden! Great video! I just clicked on it out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised to discover that you lived in Bursley. I lived there for two years (1983-85) and have always felt very nostalgic about the place. By the way, I lived in your "wing neighbor," Douglas house (4th floor and 7th floor). My 7th floor roommate built an incredible loft up there to take advantage of the high ceilings! I'll definitely check out your other videos. Go Blue!🙂
Hi Hayden, I can’t thank you enough for doing this video and also for your move-in video which I watched prior to this one. I lived in Bursley Hall during academic year 1984-1985 (3rd Lewis) and then again during academic year 1985-1986 (6th Lewis). Watching these two videos was such a wonderful trip down memory lane. Here are some things that I’ve noticed about changes to the dorm room. First of all, the door lock on the outside of the door is very different. We had standard door locks which were operated with standard metal keys. From the glimpse you provided, it appears as though you have either a combination lock or a key card reader. Either way, That stuck out as a big difference. Also, the furniture is quite different. We had traditional metal beds with mattresses. The loft arrangement you have is very nice. As you know, on the sixth floor/top floor of each wing, the ceilings are extremely high and many of the students would actually build wooden lofts that would cover the entire floor plan and essentially give each room a second floor. They were pretty cool. The last change I’m noticing is where your roommate has hung her full length mirror, that is the part of the room where telephones used to be mounted. Back in the day before they were cell phones, there were land lines in every room and we had to arrange for/sign up for long-distance service if we want to make non-local calls. Other than that, the rooms are identical to the way they looked nearly 40 years ago. Oh, one more thing. The part of the room by the door that you referred to as the “cranny“, that is where I and my roommate would hang our outdoor garments like jackets, winter coats. There was no recycling bin in the room back in the 80s but there was that projecting metal rod that was perfect for supporting hangers. I haven’t looked through too many of your other videos, so if you’ve already done a video on what I am about to request, then I apologize for failing to look first, but when I saw the title of the video “dorm tour“, I thought you would be providing a tour of not only your dorm room, but the entire dormitory or at least the common areas. I would love to see a walk down the hall, through the lounges, through the cafeteria, and the dining area, etc. I don’t know if you take requests, but please consider adding a video like that if you don’t already have one. It would help to take me even further down memory lane. Thanks again!
Hi! First off I am sooo glad that you found this video and were able to notice some key differences. That totally makes sense about the telephone… and kind of crazy too. I sadly do not live in Bursley anymore and every room there you need a housing card to get into which I do not have so I’m not sure I’ll be able to take a walk through video for you. I will say if you watch some of my vlogs I tend to stay in bursley a lot and you could see some of the areas through those if you’d like! Go blue:)
@@HaydenWeber Thank you, I will peruse your other videos. Like you, I was also an out-of-state student when I attended the University of Michigan and I absolutely loved it there. No matter where I have lived since graduating, I have always missed being in Ann Arbor. I still try to get back on a regular basis, my wife and kids and I love to go to the Gandy Dancer for brunch on Sundays, but we haven’t been since before the pandemic began. If you haven’t tried the Gandy Dancer, whether for brunch on Sundays or for any other meal, you should pay it a visit. It is my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire world and definitely worth visiting. I am looking forward to seeing your other videos!
Thanks for catching all those changes to the standard Bursley dorm room. We were there at the same time (1984-85), but I was in the Bartlett-Douglas wing.
Great video!! Were adjustments made to your bed so the IKEA storage unit would fit under it? With dimensions provided looks like it would be too tall to fit 🤷🏻♀️. Thanks!!
Hi, I made no adjustments to my bed to fit the storage unit under. The ikea storage unit was only a few centimeters off from the height allocated and there’s actually an overhanging to the bed so we lifted my bed up and slide the storage unit under and it fit perfectly. However some of the beds on Michigan’s campus are different sizes so I can only attest to this working in Bursley dorms.
sorry if you already answered this but would you possibly have a link for those storage boxes under your bed. I can't find good ones that I like online
@@HaydenWeber Hi! Very helpful video. How did the IKEA cabinets fit under the bed? It says it's 30 1/8 high but the space under the bed for a half loft is 28.5.
The shared bathroom can be gross sometimes because some people aren't as cleanly as others however, it can definitely be a social area which is really nice! Like brushing your teeth and running into other people on your hall is always fun!
Aw welcome to Bursley! I hope you make so many amazing memories there! To half loft my bed I used my dresser and the other shelf thing that looks identical to the one on my desk, they have holes and hooks to keep them in place... they should send out a little photo how-to guide closer to move-in.
What in this video would you most likely buy for your own room?

She just put it under her bed behind the storage units she had!

Did the storage under the bed come with the room or did you have to buy that after moving in ?
I bought it before moving in at IKEA!
Hi what size is your bed, my son will be freshmen this fall, thanks
Hi! It’s a twin XL. Which is similar to a regular twin it’s just a little longer from my understanding!
Hi! Can I ask what size is the rug? I can't tell if it's the 3x5' or the 4x6'. Thanks!
Hi! I actually wish I knew for sure what size rug I had... I think it was 4x6 but I wasn't the one that brought it so I could be wrong.
Is the closet setup where you hung your clothes provided by much or did you have to buy that? I’m moving in this fall to Bursley
The rod inside the closet is provided and the hooks are as well. However the rod for the curtain I bought myself. Enjoy Bursley!
That Sounds Awesome
The fact the room never looks this way she just did it all up 20 minutes before she did the video
My room definitely went through periods of messiness but I tried keeping it decently clean since it's not that big of a space!
was the rod already there or did it come with the white curtains?
I had to buy a curtain and a rod!
