I’m struggling with oic and this was very informative. I have a RX for Movantik and have been hesitant to take it because I’ve heard that it may cause you to have withdrawal symptoms.

Did you ever take it? I'm suffering bad. I'm Rx a med to like yours but after I read the side effects I got scared. Do they work?

@@zenfire2003 I used to be scripted the movantik syringes and oh god it was horrible instantly felt like my stomach was on fire and I would shit my brains out for a good 5-6 hours. I hated taking it since it felt like my oral meds would not absorb right when using it. Plus the stuff is so expensive. I ended up getting lactulose prescribed and that stuff helped a ton. It would add water and gas in the colon making more bowel movements and they would be soft.

@@linuxlinux9914Unfortunately Lactulose helped me the first or second time I used it but after that it immediately stopped. I feel like I’m losing my mind with this fight! I’ve tried almost everything!!

Well I did have a drug called Targin once and it caused such a reaction that the staff thought I was having a heart attack and is an experience that I never want to experience again. I have been on an opioid called Palexia (tapentadol) which has caused a real problem with constipation and and I do urge others never to take this drug as it is so residual after cessation.

@@J.D.Whiteye that sucks it’s a horrible thing. I would say what’s helped me the most is Magnesium. I take between 600 and 800 mg a day at night and it’s helped more than anything else. I’m also on a Medici called Symproic which is treated for OIC. Hope that helps!

Your Pain management Doctor should be giving you advice or medications to deal with this. If he isn't then he isn't doing his job.

You people suffering from constipation, you need to take suboxone. You'd be suprised how much of your pain is caused by withdrawl. Suboxone kills pain even though it's only a partial agonist with a ceiling effect that prevents getting high off it. explain that one.... Get down to 2mg a day of suboxone and you'll be able to manage your bowel movements easily like i do. I use suppositories daily, then i use a clean enema bottle every other day to get any left over. As long as i do the suppositories daily, nothing substantial gets built up. Just don't squirt too much water up there... You'll get yourself sick. you don't want water liquifying old poop, it'll cause an immune system response from hell. And you sure as hell don't want that to happen when your ass has a bunch of hard poop preventing things from coming out. You could literally rupture your bowel/colon etc.

Suboxone can very dangerous to suggest to people. It really should only be used by people addicted to opiates. People on long-lasting opiates like methadone and other long-lasting opiates will need to go into acouple days of withdrawal to not end up in Acute withdrawal since suboxone will instantly put those people into the worst withdrawal.
