  • Gotta stay a step ahead of the crowd guys , keep up the pace .
Today we develop the skills needed to launch an innovative new manufacturing process that takes a caterpillar idea currently in practice and turns it into a butterfly perfected to fly off the assembly line .

Guys i ment to say divergent convergent nozzles dont work under sub sonic conditions @ 0:45 , i said they dont work "under " super sonic meaning less than but the term under could be misconstrued to say "at " or in super sonic conditions " . I ment subsonic

Easy fix, make the injection pipe parallel with the feed pipe.
    Otherwise spot on mate👍🇦🇺

This looks like a winner NB7. Look forward to see fuel flowing through the nozzle. I have to agree with you on using powdered metal process to keep aliments spot on. Good day too.

Really enjoying your work. Love seeing the things your making, I've already bought one burner from you and now looking at some of your new stuff coming. Good job on the videos!

How about machining some V shaped grooves in the bottom plate?

Instead of investing in a metal printer you could get a uv-resin 3d printer and cast the parts in plaster under a vacuum. That way you get very fine details. It's the same process they use for casting jewellery.

Interesting. What volume air flow does it need? And could you add a sketch of your venturi?

Wtf some guy making an oil burner, puts up a diagnostic chart of air flow in the burner tube.
    Technology 🤣🤣👍🇦🇺

Would a Reed value with a specific tension of sort in nozzle on fluid entry point be a possibility?

A reed within the air space of your cone will vibrate and eliminate eddy currents

look into laminar water cannons. I bet if you can adapt something akin to the straws to force laminar flow in the compression area, you can get better control at the output. There's hypodermic tubes you can get easily enough precut to specific lengths, and since you are building the burner in lamination stacks, just pack the middle area full prior to setting the top plate and welding. You might need to tweak the geometry to make sure the tubes have enough pressure to retain them and they don't shoot out with the pressured gasses.
Also, the exit needs to be super sharp. The straws are a way to separate the fluid in a series of independent, parallel streams. As they flow in the chamber, provided the walls are smooth and don't induce too much friction, they stay orderly. On exit, the idea is to have the edges knife sharp so there is no opportunity for boundary (coanda) effects to divert the fluid and cause eddies. Rounded edge would cause the fluid to stick to the surface and turn with it.

Using a needle valve for the air might cause more steady flow?

What about placing one row of laminar flow tubes going into the final chamber to keep the flow from swirling?

Would a pulse fuel injector be of any advantage? The energy to activate the injector would be a complicating factor as well as a circuit board to control the injector.

it would be cool to see what a aerospike version of this nozzle would do.
It would be easy to make you could just cut out a small triangle and position it in the stream So that it devides and then recombines the two streams into one.
