I just finished this repair after watching your video. You've helped me with many repairs! Thank you!
Just replaced mine by watching your video. A sincere thanks for the help!
Great Video. I wouldn't have even attempted without. Completed job with great results. Saved about 250.
I have to do this to my wife’s car this weekend. Thank you for the help
I just replaced mine on a 2018 Kia Sportage with 42,000 with the help of this excellent video. I am retired and don't drive it much, only 5,000 miles this last year. What I found when I took the old actuator/motor off was that the connection with the arm/clip was very corroded and I believe it was hindering the movement of the arm. I went ahead and put the new actuator /motor on after cleaning and lubricating all the connections. I'm really not sure that the old actuator/ motor is really bad. Anyway, I really think it is a poor design!!!
I got p2006 on my 2016 Sonata this weekend. Followed this and had it fixed by Monday night. Thanks for the help
i have got same code with engine light on along with acceleration problem, after changing intake manifold accelerate problem your problem gone ?
Yea so you helped me out a lot thank you very much I saved $200 following your instructions thanks again
EVERYONE IS HAPPY HE SAVED THEM BIG MONEY WERE THERE ANY DONATIONS ?
shut up
Thanks so much for the video, made replacement in my 2015 nice and easy!
Just a sidenote, when you buy a new one it doesn’t come with that swivel arm at the bottom. And IMO that’s the most difficult part of the installation. What’s that arm and the whole piece it’s attached to called? Because mine snapped trying to remove it.
Video is great, got the part installed. Only tough part was getting the control arm off. The arm hooks to a ball joint connected to the little white part with the clip. I didn't need to pop the clip off to remove the arm. I really just needed a longer screw driver, lol
yeah there's no real detail there and the clip is deceiving.
Whats the part number for the arm?
@@ariancruz211 I don't know, the hyundai dealer parts guy knew what I was talking about when I said '16 sonata intake motor runner. I tried a cheaper one off amazon first, it didn't work, so I had to go to the dealer.
the only hard part is dealing with the clip. a whole video just covering that would be helpful. everyone knows how to remove bolts
Hello I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6 Turbo. I had a Turbo under boost code. Had the Turbo replaced and PCM Updated. Now no codes but the vehicle still Hesitates and won't accelerate without cutting out like it's running out of fuel. Both fuel pumps have been replaced and the fuel rail sensor has been replaced. New timing chain and CVVT gears. We did pull the upstream Oxygen Sensor out and started the car no change. And help would be greatly appreciated. It will take throttle in park you can rev. it up no problem. Put it in drive and it will not accelerate like in this video.
I have this issue with my '16 sonata, I can't wait til I get a chance to fix it
Thanks bro nice job but I just want to know where is the vvt solenoid (intake) located on the 2015 Hyundai Sonata sport 2.4L? also I have a check engine light with a code p0010
Thank you for your assistance.
The tricky part is the swirl arm connection at the intake, do you just push the metal clip to the right to remove it ? Then the arm slides right off easily ?
The small screw for the two pipes in front of the VCM, remove it after removing the VCM bolts, it's easier. Very easy to drop these bolts/sockets in there, keep a finger on them.
What's the part number for the arm?
Thanks so much I can fix my car now
Thank you for the video, but I cannot follow the part at 6:30.
Great information thanks
I have a 2015 sonata with 79k miles. Dealership confirmed mine was bad after throwing p200a error. They sent request to Hyundai to cover it under warranty as this is a known issue. Hyundai approved the warranty work for no cost. There was technical bulletin in 2016 about it
Who do i contact
The dealership told me it was a closed bulletin and they wouldn't do shit about it. Pretty stupid, which is why I am doing it myself
Great demonstration. Thanks
I have replaced this part and the arm link kit. This has been about four times and every time I install a new arm link ,3 to 4 days after it snaps broken. Is there something that I have to do after do I have to relearn the car?
Can you please tell me where you got the part from did you have to purchase from dealership
How did you take off he arm that is dangling? Need help ASAP
There is a small clip you need to remove before it can come off to put on the new one if the new one dont come with it
Do you know what that little piece dang king is called or a part number mine keeps coming off
@@ariancruz211 did you ever figure this out? Mine snapped trying to get it off and it’s an important cheap little piece.
I have a 2016 sonata And a P200a code came up intake manifold runner bank 1. My question is when replacing the runner control motor do you also have to get it reprogram? I was told at a part store
I also what to knoe if u need to reprogram
were you able to get it reprogrammed?
Is this tool is effect on acceleration weather good or not?
Hi, I got the same issue with my car and tomorrow I have an appointment with dealer, they could ripped me off tomorrow. After replacing this part, needs to reprogram by dealers or not, if not I would do it myself. Somebody washed my car (under the hood and after that I got this problem it’s could be water inside the vcm?) I will appreciate it if you answer my questions ASAP. Thanks
No you just need clear the codes
This part seem to be water sensitive! It happened 2 times to me.
I can barley see but could you explain after removing the silver clip how do i Detach the rod from the bottom
What's the labor for this job?
I haven’t got that code, but I am having almost he same symptoms. But when I do turn the vehicle off after driving it like that and back on it runs completely normal. Any suggestions??
Thank you so much great job
Mine is throwing a p0661 circuit voltage low bank 1 and the car is running rich changed the runner getting the same code and it’s still running rich please help
How much does this part cost?
I have the same problem and when I replaced the part and erased the code I drove the car at speeds over 80 miles and the same problem came back to me but The computer does not clear any faults in the car
Great video. Replaced but Engine light still blinking. How do you get out of Limp mode?
Clean the code
@@DULLAHGOSOHARD What is the easiest way to clean code?
@@nipsygranville404 auto zone they will cler it for you or you can try disconnect the battery for a few minutes
I had that happen 3 years ago clear the code problem solved Car is still running fine that code gets tripped when the computer thinks the engine is knocking so it puts the car in limp mode I swear people waste money without needing to
What a surprise it still didn't rev after he put new part not till he cleared the code
what mileage does this happen at?
75k-79k
What are the tools I need for this ?
The hardest part for me was getting that rotating arm just right so I can get the round plastic 💩in it’s place🙄The coolant hose was making it a B!+
Do you know where the intake solenoid is located at? I only know where the exhaust one is.
It located on the head on the intake side you should be able to see it opposite side of the exhaust solenoid
Dullah Goso hard if it’s possible could you make a video or a picture because I been searching for it and I can’t find it at all.
Nice!
I have a sonata 2012 with the similar problem. But when I called the dealer, they said my model does not come with an Engine Intake Manifold Runner Vacuum Actuator. They said that I am probably thinking of the Vis Actuator part number 28321-2G700. Does this part for the sonata 2012 serve the same function as the intake runner in your video?PLEASE HELP
If you have a 2012 you need to look at the engine recall for years 2011-2014. I don’t have the recall number in front of me but seeing where is your car doesn’t have the actuator your engine is most likely in limp mode. If your 2012 was produced at the factory in Texas, not Korea, you most likely have that problem. The problems was with the piston bearings and metal shavings in the engine. The vast majority of cars produced in those years failed, however Hyundai extended the 100,000 mile warranty to a lifetime warranty, The only problem is some dealerships are unscrupulous and if you don’t know the problem they will not offer to replace the engine, in some cases they still deny you and you have to contact Hyundai corporation directly. I’m almost positive that’s what’s happening with your car as I myself had a 2012 Limited but it had a salvage title and was denied a new engine at the dealership.
I just replaced mine but I can still hear the noise like a cracking noise. Help?
You needed a engine replacement! Same happened to me
My sonata is doing the same thing but the code p2004 came up
Is the part same for the sonata 2015 2.0T please I need help
Hello please have you fixed yours I have the same car as yours
@dullah where are unlocated so incould takr my car to u
Got this part replaced today and still can’t accelerate past 63 mph also check engine light not off? Also replaced spark plugs.. does something need to be reset?
After replacing the part you should clear the check engine light
Dullah Goso hard one more question... once I replaced that part, I did what you said and went to get the check engine light cleared, I fixed the problem with the intake control runner but now I’m getting a code P1326 ( knock sensor ) is it a possibility I did something wrong? How am I able to fix it?
Check to see if your car is knocking or if you just have a bad knock sensor and also check the wiring for the knock sensor
Dullah Goso hard I bought a new knock sensor last week just to be safe and it does jerk when accelerating at lower speeds but that’s the only thing I notice is the acceleration and jerking
@@TheMindfreak75 you got to solve that jerking problem that will trigger the knock sensor
Good video but l try replace but l have problem to take off the litle piece you do that on 6;31 on the video can you explain me l dont want to brake this piece tku
There is a small metal clip that hold that small arm unto it remove the clip and try your best not to lose it because you need it to hold it to the new part use a small flat head screw driver to pry off the clip and keep your hand around the clio so it dont fly away
@@DULLAHGOSOHARD I appreciate this video as it's the only thorough one I could find.
I am also stuck on the part of removing the "arm" so I can remove the IMRC. I removed the first clip but don't know what to do next as I couldn't see that part in the video.
It looks like the arm is connected to a plastic piece and even though I removed the clip, it's still difficult to remove... I'm afraid if I yank it too much I will break it.
How do I detach it so I can remove the intake manifold runner from engine? Any help is greatly appreciated 🙏
UPDATE: I was able to remove it. For anyone that wants to know...just place a flathead screwdriver in between the arm and the plastic piece and pull gently...it just pops right out.
The camera was rolling when i did it and I didn't realize when you remove the little clip that hold the arm and put it on the new one the same way you took it off
@@DULLAHGOSOHARD I was meaning after the big clip but regardless I got the new one installed...car is running great again & I appreciate this video because honestly I don't know if I would have been able to as this is the only detailed video I've seen, so thanks.
How much is this replacement part?
About $147 to $200 depending on where you buy it.
Where do I find the little arm valve on the irmc for it mine broke.
Try the dealer
Mine did too and new runner controls don’t come with them.
Where did you guys find it?
@@gaelcruz6078 I went to the dealer and got a new engine due to the recall and lawsuit they had. I paid $0 for the new engine
@@linasanchez9732 is the recall on 2015 sonata as well?
Happening now to my Hyundai Sonata same issue
did u fix it? Having the same problem
I have the code I can rev no issues so it’s confusing me
Or you can save a grand and clean the manifold out with CRC carbon cleaner for $13 and a ton less time…
I replace mines but the engine came on again n its has the same problem. Idk what to do please help
Honestly trash the car, I got 193,000 miles out of mine, and I have driven about 10K since getting the motor replaced and it's starting to act up again.
@@keithbowman6375 mines has 84k n i change the motor n its still the same
I know you're trying to help with the video but one can barely hear anything you say
Is it me or Hyundai change the location where the cvvt intake solenoid supposed to be on the 2015 Hyundai Sonata sport 2.4L GDI engine.
Please reply ASAP somebody please
When i stop in a red light and I push the brake after I release the brake the rpm go below 1 and it feel is going to turn off still trying to know what it is.
My 2018 sonata does the same thing, if I put it in reverse it does it, and "drive" is like a 4 second delay then the rpms drop. Then if I am stopped and let off the brakes, same thing, the rpms take a dive
Translate this for me to arabic pls
How you gone show a video on how to replace a part and not even show how to do everything, some mechanic you are
