Hi Persolaise! I am so happy to see you enjoy Un Jardin Sur le Nil! I bought it for the 1st time this summer. It started my love for perfume and made me want to know more about perfume. Before I did not really wear perfume. There is a feel-good element to that perfume. It really lifts me up. Since then, I have discovered the world of niche perfumes and started a tiny perfume collection. I had not noted the Frankincense note and it is quite uncanny as I absolutely adore frankincense essential oil. It is my go-to EO when I need to unwind, release some stress.
Persolaise, you always make my day better when you do a RUclips fragrance video. I hope that you had a great summer. During the spring & summer, I wore Bergamote Calabria by Guerlain, Concentre d'Orange Verte by Hermès and Eau de Campagne by Sisley
I love your vintage finds! I inherited a Chanel travel dabber exactly like that from my mum, who I believe, bought it at Harrods in the early 70’s, which doesn’t mean they couldn’t have been around since before that…
Persolaise, I’m new to the fragrance world, started just 2 months ago. I really like your content! Also, there is something quite calming, relaxing and nice about you! The world is angry enough that I rejoice watching a video about perfume without all the noise around it!
So pleased to see you back on youtube. You may remember, that I asked about decanting and storing perfume. I found nothing from the girl you recomended. Eventually I found Irisfactice, who talks about it, in french, and I've been enjoying her chanel in your abscense.
Wow vintage YSL Paris and No.5! Need to try the Ostens candles. Wonderful to see you back! I know it is intimidating, but so nice to get to meet some of my fellow viewers 😊
Being in humid FL this summer caring for my 97 yo mom who is very sensitive to scent, i've had to adapt to lighter skin scents. Favorites have been Aura Sublime, Le Musc et La Peau, Vanille Benjoin, Milk Musc and Eau Duelle, often layering a couple...Perhaps you can do a live w the community every first or last Sunday! It's a lot of fun...
Hi Mr. P! So happy you’re back! Fantastic vacation shirt! We’ve missed you during your well-deserved break. ❤️ We missed the Live but so happy to watch the video!
My most-worn scents over the summer have been: Chanel’s Cristalle EdT, The Zoo’s Dangerous Curves, Shalini Paradis Provence, and I know I’m missing something important… but we’re so excited to see you! 🙏❤️
What a wonderful first episode after the break! I definitely enjoyed „Naviglio“ by Milano Fragranze during my holiday in hot and humid Germany. Also because of your wonderful interview with Alessandro Brun. It is oldfashioned but also very elegant and for me special and the soapnote is not too soapy. I would have definitely showed up on the livestream with it even with my crappy english. Great that you are back!!!
I ❤❤❤ Ostens. I have the Rose candle and I think they’ve launched only 2 so far. I hope you can feature their fragrances more…a spotlight perhaps on lesser known niche brands?
Lovely to see you back and lovely to see the brave trio who went live . My summer scents were Habit Rouge EDT and Monotheme zagara and a lot of Miller Harris violet Ida x
So great to see you back! Oh yes! Chandler Burr’s book was a great read! Talking about the incense in Un Jardin sur le Nil, there was a coffret many years ago with some incense sticks offered together with the fragrance. Loved it! I thought I would go for the freshies during Summer (specially ordered a back up bottle of Un Jardin sur le Nil for that purpose) but finally ended up reaching for vanilla based scents. Either on the spicy, boozy side (Vanille Mona di Orio, all time favorite) or the floral end (Vanille de Tahiti Perris). I alternated with Rose Chérie Guerlain and tried a scent of my mother’s (Berdoues Lagon Fleur de Tiaré). When it got really hot, I simply didn’t wear perfume. Since I took long walks in nature with my family, I also rather smelled the flowers and plants surrounding us and didn’t want their scent to get « overpowered » by my perfumes. ;-) Would love to get my nose on Opsis! Hope it will reach France at some point!
Persolaise ! It really feels like a long time, I've missed your appearances ! Iw ould have told you that but wanted to respect your break haha ! But then you deliver such a long video, so I'll take time to watch it over a few days, then reads the comments, then read the live chat... Perfect ! I wore Herba Fresca from Guerlain and I recently acquired Confetti by Lush... It is very sweet, but not sickly I find, and it brings a happiness about it like a party where you see everyone you like. Have hou had occasions where you could wear Eau de Basilique Pourpre from Hermès ? Being French I know how you've spent your summmer in "la canicule", and am not sure if the scent could withstand the heat but I have tried it recently and thought back about your positive review.
Oh and I've discovered that Lush do an Orange blossom candle based in their perfume at 15 euros in France, so much more accessible than the perfume... I don't know anything about candles really, it is a really small one so I am not sure about the "projection" but it smells really beautiful.
Thanks very much for watching. And wow, I’d buy that Lush candle for sure. No, I didn’t wear the Hermes. I’m not sure it would have withstood the heat.
The viewer participation is superb! Not sure if I'm just very much satisfied with Tuscan Leather but I've really got to try the Ombre Leather line. Welcome back and I hope you had an incredible summer vacation!
It's been so hot this summer that there were some days couldn't be bothered to wear any perfumes at all although Diorella and Neela Vermeire's Nemus have been pretty much my favourite fragrances for this summer. Thanks for the video!
Persolaise! 1) Re: Summer - I would love for you to review the new Lutens Eau line. I know the older one was quite boring to some but apparently this new one is more interesting. (I believe there are 3). 2) This summer I wore Nishane’s Ambra Calabria a lot! I bought it with the intention of gifting it but after trying it I really loved it. A green opening and drys down to a sparkley Amber ❤️
I am so sorry to have missed your first live, but hopefully I'll catch you next time. I've been enjoying your content and have now reached 2021 :D I haven't regularly worn a fragrance but tending to try numerous samples to find out what I like, as this is a new obsession for me. Your reviews have been enlightening and I'm building a list of perfumes to try.
The fragrances I have worn throughout the summer varied based on the weather and location, plus what I was wearing/aesthetic influence. When I was on my husband and I's honeymoon (delayed by 2 years due to COVID), I had worn Shalimar when we went out to eat at a brewery in New Hampshire, and the fragrance worked perfectly with the rustic atmosphere, and I find that while it may be traditionally considered a fall or winter fragrance since it's spicy, it just works well during the summer when being in the mountains or lakeside. The fragrance compliments the scent of evergreen trees well. I also brought a sample of Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic with me as well, and that was very refreshing after a strenuous hike. I also wore traditionally cool-down fragrances as well, like my recently acquired Dior Pure Poison, with the jasmine and citrus fragrance, in addition to my favorite summer scent Davidoff Cool Water. On some occasions when I was feeling cottagecore and wanted something more floral I would opt for Guerlain's Idylle and Lanvin's Arpege. When in a Mid-Mod mood or early/mid 80s, I'd pick up Chanel No. 5. L'air du Temps has been on the list as well. Since it's been made available again in the US site for Guerlain, I picked up Nahema and it's gorgeous during the summer, especially during late summer. I also jumped on the MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 train as well, and it's a gorgeous scent for a rainy and cool summer day. Also been hitting up Estee Lauder Pleasures and Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Rosa Pop for cooling down, in addition to J'adore by Dior. Plus my husband gifted me Miss Dior EDT during our anniversary and it's a delicate and light floral which is perfect for the warmer months. I got a bunch of samples to try of different perfumes, and found that I also like Armani Code and Armani Si. Also explored other spicier perfumes as well in anticipation for fall, like Tabu, Obsession, YSL Opium, and Dior's Hypnotic Poison. Plus got Revlon's Charlie Blue out of curiosity. I felt like Obsession was practically like Shalimar, so that's naturally a keeper. Charlie Blue didn't feel right on me during the summer, so I will try it again when it gets cooler. Tabu is pretty bold and more appropriate for fall and winter. I absolutely loved Dior's Hypnotic Poison, so that will be my go-to for when fall is in full swing and closer to Halloween. I also tried a travel spray of Fredrick Malle's Portrait of a Lady and unfortunately it was a bit too strong and peppery on me, so I ended up using it in a reed diffuser and it smells great in the room. I just ordered a travel spray of Nina by Nina Ricci since it has apple notes in it in anticipation for fall. Not going to lie, I also got Dana's Love's Baby Soft out of curiosity, and it smells a bit like suntan lotion and powder on me. I have found in general this summer with my exploration of fragrance that I generally like jasmine as a note in perfumes as well as citrus notes for the summer. The fall will be a dive into more spice and vintage fragrances. (Sorry for the novel, been exploring a lot of different fragrances over the summer and finding out new things that I like. :D )
@@Persolaise You're welcome, Persolaise! I continue to be a pupil of perfumes through your videos. There certainly is an advantage of being able to pack more things with you when you go on a car trip than flying. :)
The scents of this summer have been: Guerlain Chant d'arome, Jean Patou Vacances and Sana Jardin Jaipur Chant. All different. All delicious. Not directly based on your recommendations but your videos make me so excited about perfume and eager to make discoveries
In the south of France where I was, near Céret on the French/Spanish border, it is always so so hot that I do not dare to bring any bottles of my precious perfumes. So I only brought decants en sample sprayers of No 5, Paris-Paris, Guerlains Coconut Fizz and Tubereuse by Daniel Josier which I really enjoyed. The rest of the summer I’ve been wearing a lot of Francesca Bianchi’s Tyger Tyger ánd vintage Poison, which you wrote so beautfully about! 🙏🏻💜
MAKE WAY! The legend hath returned 🔥
😂
Thank you.

I'm a fan of that particular Aqua Allegoria.
I've been wearing Bergamote Calabria too this summer. I love its freshness .
Thank you Persolaise for the lovely review of our Illumination Jasmine candle ❤

Loved this video! I always miss the live :D This summer I really enjoyed Panorama by Olfactive Stuido. Also Lumiere Blanche somehow stuck with me..
I’m a huge fan of Panorama.
