  • Gravely compact pro 34 making ruts in every yard, tires are too small for this mower, I will be changing them soon, to the compact pro 44 rims and tires, never had this issue with my gravely zt34 so I was not expecting this to happen

Was looking at one of these for same reasons you got it for. I’m hearing the same issues from other owners online. Rethinking my options now. Thanks for the info 👍

I’m about to upload another video of me swapping the tires to the compact pro 44 tires, they cost me 260 before tax, but they are as wide as the compact pro 44 now, and they really only stick out a inch past the deck, there really aren’t many options for a compact mower other than a stand on, I even saw the walk behind gravely have the same thin tires on them too, thanks for watching

I am having the same rut issue at my job sites as well. I have changed mowing patterns and still see the old and new ruts. Will check into the larger tire. FYI I have a Pro 34. Thanks for the info.

It’s a complete mindf$ck, I’ve changed my tires and it’s not as bad but still there, even switching patterns like you and now I have like a damn checkerboard pattern in the yards

I'm not having this issue by any means and I didn't rut any yard and literally bought it off marketplace and it has chompers for tires lol. It also has bad wheel motors too chattering everywhere. Lower your tire pressure around 10psi and be sure you're not jerking around and not allowing a wheel to stop. This is a great mower. I'm a bigger company and I use it for front and back. This actually replaced my 54" for the most part.. Always keep a wheel moving. You don't need a "mulch kit". It already has one under there from the factory, get a CHUTE BLOCKER and install some gator blades.

is the machine too heavy for the tire width?

    • @LawnJohnSilver

I believe so, I upgrade to a wider tire, I probably won’t know if it helped until next season, the compact pro 44 tires fit on this mower

Some people have changed the tires. and sacrificed the narrow footprint.
There are at list 2 videos on RUclips about this.

I’ll try that out, I have been switching patterns also and now I have like this checkerboard design in most of the yards like they won’t go away after a week

Your tire pressure is too high you should have it at 15 to 20 psi don't go over.

      Thanks I’ll try that

I just watched a video about that after I read your comment from ‘bad boy mowers’ they said 10-12 so I might try 12 in front and 10 in back

@@servanttofriend8481 it’s probably going to take another season to see if it really helped and I have been switching up my patterns as much as I can to try to get them to go away

I swapped the tires with the compact 44 to make them wider, and only inflating to no more than 10psi and still same issue I think the mower is too heavy

Cut shorter. Can't top it with these mowers.

Cut the grass shorter will help? Is this just going to happen regardless, any suggestions will help lemme know I’m still dealing with this on a regular basis even after replacing the wheels with wider ones
