A very nice review. I have owned the Mark IV for 6 or 7 months now. I also own a EM1 Mark ii and a EM5 Mark iii. This little camera is great for Street shooting with the 17mm f1.8 tiny lens. It’s the camera that is always with you. I also use it with the Olympus 45mm f1.8 lens for portraits and family. It’s light, compact and just plain fun. And, of course I get great pics from it too. I am on a trip in Colorado right now. I brought the Olympus EM10 Mark IV with these two lenses.
Great Video! And I totally agree with you, if you know what you are doing then the EM10 Mark IV is more like an enthusiast level camera made for travel!
I love my EM10 Mark ii. For a beginner camera it sure has a lotvof features. I've been tempted to a mark iv or an EM5 mark iii or a secondhand EM1 Mark ii. However, I like the EM10 ii so much because of its nice metal feel and style plus the lenses. The video focusing is kind of crap so I'm tempted to an EM5 Mark iii because the EM1s are bigger and I love the small form factor with the prime lenses amd with the OM5 coming, the EM5 Mark iii has nice extra features and will probably get cheaper, hopefully before the British pound completely collapses!
You’re the best man you’re the greatest reviewer that I am sure you are honest about your reviews ❤ thank you so much I’m looking forward to buy this product
Yes! Amazing video. The processor is capable. This should be a camera that has most of the features. It should be a cheaper camera only because the materials, no weatherproofing, and less capable sensor. Other than that this camera should be aimed for people who want maximum mobility. May I ask a question? Does this also not have the defish feature for the Olympus 9mm f1.8?
Very good question! Hard to decide. Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV it's way better: very good evf, amazing IBIS, very lite in the hand with very good ergonomics. But it's having one problem that it's annoying me: it's not having minimum shutter speed with auto ISO. So when the light it's changing (you're going from sun to strong shadow) you'll need to adjust settings. So this is a little annoying for street photography when you want to move fast. The only solution it's to use it in manaul mode with auto ISO. But if the light it's to strong you need to adjust shutter speed/aperture. With gx9 I don't have this problem. So in the end I would choose Lumix GX9 - the camera ergonomics, firmware and features are crazy good even if I don't have a good EVF and Olympus IBIS.
@@Tudor_Mateescu Thanks for the detailed response, excellent points! Would you say that one has noticeably better IQ (sharpness, low-light performance, etc) compared to the other, or are they relatively similar in that regard?
@@theprogguitarist they are similar regarding the IQ. Gx9 a little sharper but it seems a little noisier at high iso levels, Olympus not so sharp but with pleasing noise at high ISO levels - but very similar. IQ it's not a differential factor. Also the AF of Oly it's very limited as customization. Lumix GX9 AF customization it's way better. Also gx9 it's winning at the video part - lots of options. You can record and take pictures in the same time. And lots of features. Gx9 it's the better camera between this too (but it's heavier, IBIS very good but not at the level of Oly, not so good EVF, metal build etc.).
@@Tudor_Mateescu There is a good workaround for this with the original E-M10. In the custom flash menu (F), set the Slow Limit to your desired min shutter speed and it should work even when not using flash. I'm not sure if the menus have changed much on later versions of the E-M10...
That thing isn’t a beginners camera. You have to know what you are doing for sure with this thing. It’s a full on camera like any other in a small package.

Small and light weight camera with good in body stabilization stands a chance of being used more often and so will have a big market.

Thank you very well said. From what I'm seeing it doesn't have the defish function. It seems em5 mk3 has it.
Hi. Is the AF point in the viewfinder illuminated, or is it gray like in the pen-f?
Salut,si eu vreau sa cumpar acest aparat....
Great video! Would you choose the E-M10 Mk iv over the GX9, and why or why not?

grate video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Brought the same but back dials gone kaput 😔
I had the same problem, I've told in my video after one month of using it. They repaired it in guarantee.
who said it's a beginners' camera? you
Check Olympus marketing materials and ambassadors talks :)
No AA filter in this camera?
It has AA filter, Lumix G-X9 doesn't have one.
@@Tudor_Mateescu ok 🆗 thanks
