This game was a nice first playthrough but for a rogue lite it doesn't seem to have that replay factor. Every run is long and blends together with the same elements it doesn't really feel random enough. Don't get me wrong I love the colony aspect but I'd like to see for definitive routes and different ways to run the colony on top of more weapons for combat and more reasons to go to dungeons. One thing they did do an amazing job on is the graphics and overall aesthetics. And the music is a total banger. I hope they can flesh out more of the game via DLCS and patches there's good stuff here already.
love watching you play this game. thank you for vods. although dont be afraid/hesitate to like.. do games fromt eh start? its also fun to see you click on stuff like oh what does this dooo. the intial learning and confusion
"Lawful Evil is worse than Chaotic Evil because it's less honest." Admirable value hierarchy, but Lawful Evil is what Chaotic Evil becomes when it wants to settle down with its power. Even happened with Genghis Khan.
I bought this game cause i saw one guy play it once and drop it. Went looking for more and the guy playing it was so inept i decided 'i don't gotta see him fail at this i'll do it myself.' But i feel you could bring something fresh to this game.
@@Jokoko2828 I hope so too. I really just want them to keep the game how it is but just make the replayability good and the cult part more defined to the standards of people who find it limiting. I like it as is. But I can see where it needs improvement.
For me: Binding of Isacc: liked thr game play. Disliked the artstyle. Don't starve: loved the artstyle, personally hated the game play BUT THIS GAME! Somehow I've fallen in love with it
Some tips I learn while playing a bit: I think the poisoning weapons are the best for the bosses. The poisoning axe might have low speed but the damage is good. -Try to dodge the enemies that Leshy or other “gods” spew at you if they are not in the way. --Try getting rid of the boss as soon as possible because the smaller enemies will all die (once defeated) and you’ll be able to collect their bones. -While running through on the crusade, focus on getting rid of the annoying enemies (like the bats) once they’re gone the others will be easy to defeat. You can put most of your followers as worship, most likely you’ll only need 2 people to chop wood or mine Focus on food (planting seeds) upgrades (get the outhouse) and bed upgrades so your followers will stay happy -You can also gift them and bless them --Build prisons once unlock because your followers will be afraid and listen to those who rebel again your cult(if faith is low). They also will end up leaving. Don’t spend a lot of time on crusades, remember you need to do sermons everyday or your followers will lose faith. Stay out for a couple of days should be okay. When on crusades look for the moons and stars hanging around, it’s the card dude That about it , remember to have fun playing not playing to win
Not sure I would agree with 'alarming' amount of content to do in this game, and if you analyze the totality of the colony manager's impact into the game and progression, you might find it shockingly shallow in regards to how much time investment it has compared to the combat elements.
Mmm, you cant just take out two thirds of the game and say its small as a result. The combat is only a portion of the game. You might as well speedrun the mines in stardew then complain that it was short But you’re not entirely wrong, the game is fairly short. The combat is also NOT the focus of the game. You only NEED to succeed a mission 16 times. 17 is the final boss. But you’re also supposed to manage your cult a lot, and decorate and just take it slowly. Less isaac and more animal crossing.
I am trying to increase engagement in my streams so is this game easily approachable to chat? I did play Deadcells but my viewers were a little overwhelmed with how they were to interact so I guess what I’m asking is it easy to explain the Twitch Integration to the average Twitch chatter haha?
we really need to stop comparing things to Isaac. Yes it was one of the first big rogue likes. and because of that I'm grateful. but it's also one of the worst rougelike. Janky controls, too many patches, etc. It's just not much of a milestone to say "it's as good as Isaac" these days.
I think that's fair - probably Zelda would be more accurate come to think of it, haha. A bit of a box I tend to think in - appreciate the thought, haha
Depends on your definition of "big." _Binding of Isaac_ is very new to the roguelike scene and there were many others that were considered "big" before it. _Isaac_ was just "big" in the sense that it had a huge following of kids and Twitch streamers compared to previous entries in the traditionally less-accessible genre. On a related note, if he hasn't tried it yet I would suggest Amphibian play Dungeons of Dredmor, the humour is very old internet but it's a damn good game and doesn't suffer from the issue of system opacity that other games like CDDA have so it's very easy for viewers to tell what's going on even if they haven't played it. Everything has a tooltip and the graphics are perfectly serviceable today.
@@ambiguousamphibianvods I just checked the Steam page and Dredmor is eight bucks Canadian even without a sale, so that's like 35 cents in American money if you're interested. It would be a great way to do the more traditional style of roguelike justice on the channel or your stream.

Uhhh... Bastion is 11 years old now. I feel so old
I expected this game to be played and then forgotten
I’m surprised, impressed, and proud of it
Please do a series on this game your humor meshes perfect

Finished it just hours ago, I find zero replayability here.
e: It was a fun game, but for 14h of grindy gameplay it's on the expensive side

ya know man, you could've just said "Hades + Animal Crossing" but I respect this longer title because it looks funnier
I'm still waiting for my Doom + Animal Crossing game 2020 promised 😢
Isaac + Don't Starve
Hades + Animal Crossing
I feel like yours is the longer title.

I just love how it has “+ don’t starve” not many know that it’s so good
Nice been wanting to check out this game
please do a darkwood play through if you havent already
Just finished the game, it's awesome! Nice to see Amphib picked up on it, it's his cup of tea. P.S. mouse & keyboard works just fine for me

Some more of this plz I enjoy watching
His "2 hours in" looks like 8-10 hours by many other youtubers or is that just me lol
If the devs are smart they'll keep pumping out updates for this.
The devs plan to
@@athannyx6815 Nice, they got a minor lightning in a bottle, they probably ain't catching another one so hoping they do well.
@JK This sort of game lives or dies by the amount of updates it gets, it's not really a thing that will ever be complete.

If you like this game I highly recommend moonlighter,a lot alike this game but you run a shop and upgrade the town instead of run a cult.

Generally I find axe best, whatever the modifier, the range and sweep trumps all.
The funniest thing about this game is when I find people who play it who completely forget about the dodge roll which straight up has i-frames.
The only thing i dislike about Cult of the Lamb is it doesnt show your weapon when you walk around. It just kinda appears outta no where.
its the crown. the crown turns into your weapon then floats back up
man i love this game
"wha why'd he turn into an old man" you read zero dialog and skip it so nobody can

how do you stop the constant frame stutter? Mine happens without fail, every 3 seconds a frame drops. Oh nevermind, I see it's on your game too.
