in music it's generally easier to play fast rather than to play slow
that is so far from the truth. did you not think for one millisecond before saying that? of course its not easier to play fast! you may not notice so many mistakes because you blast through them so fast but it is defiantly not easier.
TheElvenArcher yes I thought and I'm correct it is easier to play fast than slow because you don't wait as long in the pauses inbetween notes. It all depends on how comfortable you are with the song and your instrument.
Echo Smith I refer back to what I said before: you just don't hear the mistakes.
you're right echo smith. it is much more common of a mistake to play too fast. you may make more mistakes, but once you get the notes under your fingers it's harder to keep a controlled pace.

Muscle memory. It's like talking without having to read what you say.
Lewis Biggs it was important for composers before the invention of recording technology. They had to write it down otherwise there was no other way to keep a record of it for the future. And plus with older music there are generally a lot of notes in the pieces, but the musicians usually don't read the sheet music for the entire performance. They use it for reference points kind of. "I'm at this section that starts with A so I know where I'm at and I need to look at this spot in the music for the next section" any more and especially in rap/pop/rock sheet music isn't really necessary. The keyboard player for Dream Theater reads sheet music though. His pets are very complicated though so it'd make sense for him to use sheet music. It's hard to memorize that much music.

Well done. Minor phrasing issues, fragmented harmonies, and a few missing notations, but the difficulty level as well as the work put into the piece far exceeds the mistakes. He will make a brilliant piano major if he continues honing that talent. Far better than I was, that's for certain.
