I love to give from my spirit...I love filling a vessel beit a wicker basket , a pail, a weathered box something that has had a life prior but is now being repurposed ...this summer I dehydrated flowers, oranges, lemons, berries added essential oils and pine cones to make jars filled with potpurri , I also gathered chestnuts and roasted them to give as treats along with tins of home made shortbread cookies...and home baked mini loaves of cranberry bread wrapped with a recipe card ... this year I wanted to embrace the warmth of giving with deliberate thoughts of the people in my life....this year I wanted more than ever to show the love I feel and give more of myself in my gifts. Thank you for the lovely inspirations.
Beautiful and very practical gifts. Everyone would enjoy these. For a very special person, you can make a love message called "52 reasons why I love you." Use a deck of playing cards (old or new). Write one reason on the face of each card, and they'll enjoy going through the deck. You can still play with the cards, or not. To make it easier, pick 10-15 categories and draft the reasons on a sheet of paper. Then you can write them out quickly and avoid repeating. Merry Christmas!
I love this. It reminded me of when my sister was alive, she always gave me handmade gifts. I loved them. They were a part of her. I think of her when I use the things she gave me. It brings back many happy memories. Thank you
This year I am giving homemade spice blends in jars that I’ll craft up. Probably taco seasoning, creole seasoning...etc. I love doing it, and they love getting it. 🎄
It wouldn’t be Sunday without “Fairyland Cottage”. This year i am gifting my granddaughter some plants , seeds, a moisture gauge and a gardening book from my collection. She is nine and just getting into plants. Her mom has a “black thumb” lol.
That is so special Sheryl... a lucky grandchild indeed. Maybe she can help you become green fingered! I’m honoured you love the videos so much. Thank you for the support.
I have spent my whole life creating things for my home, gifts for babies, gifts for my family! I can't even begin to tell what all I have made. I am older now and spend every single day making things. I knit, crochet, bead weave, paint, draw, sew, and do numerous other needlework etc. Right now I'm making some knitted dishcloths with cotton yarn. I make these all year and share them for Christmas gifts along with nurses I see at my appts. Anytime I see someone who might need a little gift I give them a set. Also, baby hats are a fun one for me to give away. I have given them to strangers if I see someone with a baby! My list is never ending.... Thanks for your suggestions, I enjoyed seeing them. Have a lovely day! :D Sharon from California x x
Prayers needed for my father guys,I hope everything works out well,so so depressed and worried.hope papa will come home with minimal health conditions.
I'm giving jars of homemade blueberry-lemon scone mix with a little jar of homemade jam, also embroidered bookmarks with a favorite book from my collection, and some hats or socks I knit.
That's a great idea, giving a book from your own collection. ( As well as the scone mix and jam.) I have acquired so many over my lifetime! If the recipient actually reads it, it gives you a great discussion topic for later on in the year. 👍
I like to buy an old pretty teacup and saucer from a thrift shop, I make a candles or melts in the usual way and add a few drops of essential oils that I like or that I know others like and a little glitter and let it set in the cup with the central wick or cut out a snowflake from scrap paper and wrap the melts to put in the cup. Also the same with a tea mixes in little sterilised muslin bags to put in the cups. Another one that’s popular with bird feeders - I multi dip a big pine cone onto which I attached a twine hanging loop, in grease or meat fat with all the seeds rolled in between each dip layer and let it set then wrap them up. I make up craft kits for the smaller kids to amuse them at Christmas for when they get bored of their presents, including salt dough kit and small cookie cutters - different projects in bags. I collect and glass paint lots items bought from thrift shops for flowers to pens or tealights. Etc Niamh’s recipe Homemade lip balms and foot balms are great too.

Warm greetings, Niamh! I always look forward to your cosy videos every Sunday - moments of tranquility, indeed. All of these are thoughtful and lovely gift ideas. I like to donate to animal charities on behalf of friends and family. 😊
I'm making aprons from secondhand fabric and then I've still got some handmade candles from lockdown to gift. The cookie mix is a great idea. A cake mix would be fun too
I made juggling sacs for a coworker, crocheted frisbees. I reused a small box to make a mini first aid kit for a friend I bicycle with. I modified a thrifted silk shirt for someone too. Last year I did cookie kits!
I appreciate your videos so much. I usually watch them with a cup of tea or eating a snack. Learning to live more simply in the last 6 months and going through 11 years of things we didn’t take the time to get rid of. The house we were renting was suddenly sold quickly and I was forced to minimize in order to move. Now I have a renewed sense of what I need, can reuse or repurpose and just live a less complicated life. The style of your more recent videos has a calmness about them that helps me feel relaxed and able to fully be present with what you are sharing since the music is minimal and subdued and so is your voice. Thanks for all you share with us!
Our thoughtful daughter-in-law refills our large red holiday tin with homemade baked goods and candy each year. Our son brought it back to us last night. Such a kindness.
I always make edible gifts, everyone now expects them! Peppermint creams, fudge, flavoured oils, chutneys, chocolate bark, hot chocolate mix!! They love them all and it gives me such a warm feeling xx
I definitely want to try this. I am thinking of a bird house made of bird seed pasted with lard on possibly a biodegradable paper or cardboard. Something like that. Have to think about this and/or do some research If anyone has any ideas; please let me know.. Thanks.
Just wanted to take a minute and tell you that I really like your content, its soothing and calm and lovely and it is on the top of my you tube feed every Sunday morning. It's how I start my Sundays.. while my coffee is brewing. Thanks from the states. 🙂
Those are wonderful ideas!!! For my daughter in law, I made a mixt of marjoram essential oil and coconut oil that she can used to massage her temples when she gets a migraine. It keeps for a longtime! I also put chai tea syrup into a jar! 🧡
And giving my son and his fiance a gift certificate for a spa day and camping gear - love the gift that creates experience. As well as yarn and a coupon for knitting lessons with me! 😉
Hello from NYC! What a beautiful peaceful video. Lovely gifts! I crochet and I always find it fascinating how a crochetter moves their crochet hook. So instead of moving the hook through the yarn, you actually move the yarn up and down the shaft of the hook whike the hook is still and it simply works for you. Love that! Lovely video, thank you .
I bet not one handcrafted gift has ever gone to waste! Some one will use it eat it read or treasure it even if not the actual person gifted.Ty! Loved this post! 🌲🏠🌲🏫🌲🍄🌲
All your gift ideas are appealing and easy to make. Am so over giving and receiving gadgets, ornaments etc so it's very refreshing to see items that will be used again (the jar).
Homemade gifts are the best! One year when both of my kids were in college and money was tight, I suggested that we have a "homemade" Christmas (no purchased gifts). It was so much fun seeing what everyone came up with for each other. That is a favorite Christmas memory!
Lovely and fun! We're gifting several local restaurant gift certificates so they might have a chance of staying in business during this hard time. Our favorite is a restaurant that pays a living wage, donates a percentage of profits to non-profits doing good work (hospice this year), and has been extra caring of its employees. In the years when I can preserve apple butter, I like to give that, but my poor tree fared badly this year. I did manage to make a few goody bags with flower and veg seeds (jewelweed, forget-me-nots, cosmos, hibiscus, various squashes, green beans, and okra). Your videos are peaceful and beautiful. Thank you.
I have been making Irish Cream (in old wine bottles with a used Christmas card decoration on the front), doggie scarves (bandana style) & sometimes a matching one for the dog’s owner, and customized face masks with themed fabric for each individual. DIY gifts are so awesome in every way... I just need to remind myself to start earlier next year. (I say this every year... haha). Thanks for sharing these great ideas, I love to see what others are making 🎁
Such beautiful ideas ✨ There is something about handcrafted gifts, even hand written notes, that say I care for you, so much more. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽🌱
We made center pieces out of the Christmas trees bottoms that get cut off. We placed tealight candles / advent candles 🕯. Kept it rustic & natural to use all year long.
I used to make heart pillows for my Friends as a teenager. Then fabric totes and other sewing projects. One year I planted some succulents in Jars I hard lying around and decorated them. This year I'm thinking of making fabric Coasters, and of course lots of cookies. Allô decorated with Clay ornaments Our 3yo Made earlier in the year
I like these ideas - thinking the cookie ingredient jars would be especially good for some people I know. I’m knitting dishcloths for my neighbors as Christmas gifts. They love them and make requests every year.
I am giving homemade jams and jelly as well as healthy bird suet cakes...made with peanut butter, dried fruits, nuts and bird seed. I love your videos; you have a lovely calm voice and the music is sweet and peaceful. Thank you. Blessings 🙏💕🎄
Sustainable crocheted make-up remover pads and a face scrub in a jar would go well with the headband... We also like to gift local specialities of wines, dried meats, cheeses, flavoured mustards, chocolate, honeys, teas and so on, that are consumable. They can be a bit more expensive and so are appreciated because not everyone has the budget for them. My granny was my example; she always reused last year's cards wherever possible :) I do a lot of knitting as gifts and try to use stash wool as much as possible, but it takes longer than crochet. I am always amazed how popular my hand-knitted socks are, which is lovely. For the kids I stuff them like stockings with a mandarine, some nuts, sweets, trinkets like marbles, for adults I might put a pack of local herbal tea in. This year we're giving a special gift - my mom's 21st birthday necklace needed new chain on either side so we had that repaired/replaced for her, 60 yrs on...
In years past we made a simple homemade gift to put in each families basket they brought to our Christmas gathering. Due to the ban in Oregon on gatherings of more than six people, this year we will carry on the tradition but place our baskets on our front porches and hand deliver our goodies. Blessings to all.
Love these! Another baking option is to gift them cookies that are still as a lot of balls and frozen. They can keep them in the freezer forever and make however many they want any time
I poured some candles from left over wax that I still had, I made spiced apple jam, I made a macramee market bag and I'm drawing lots of paintings. I love your videos so much! They are always so peaceful and calming. Thank you!
Your DIY gifts are quite lovely and certainly provides a much-needed boost to one's heart and spirit this year to both make and receive them. Thank you for your ideas. Jenny
I like to give candles as a gift with a hand painted card done on watercolour paper, lots of tutorials on yt for card painting and decorating. I like to buy a box of candles (the long type) and simply seperate them and tie string or ribbons around the middle of each one and a little homemade greeting tag. Another gift I enjoy making is a small dry bundle of sticks, sprayed with paint or left plain. Use a glue gun to hold together or just tie ribbons and string tight enough to hold together. They make nice table or tree decorations (depending how big you make them. Larger ones make nice wall hanging pieces, I would add little pine cones with florist wire to those.
The gifts you make are so thoughtful. I am not making anything this year but I thrifted a few items. I found a carafe in a thrift store to keep my water hot throughout the day for tea! One of your tips. 🎄
I love the idea of repurposing Christmas cards I have received as gift tags/notes, and the cookie or muffin mix in jars. A propagated plant is a thoughtful gift as well!
I love homemade gifts, especially at Christmas. Wish all my relatives were into this. It means so much to have a gift from the heart. I love nature so I love to root plants and give them away. I also make candy as gifts. As we get older, we don't need more "stuff", so something homemade, either food, plant or a craft is a wonderful gift.
Wonderful channel! I hope we all can try to practice being more conservative and low waste. Thank you for showing ways to be mindful while celebrating holidays and occasions
I have spent a wet Sunday afternoon making homemade fircone firelighters to give to Friends instead of Christmas cards. I save leftover wax from candles throughout the year. They smell lovely.
Lovely gifts! I'm crocheting some scarves as gifts and since we are in lockdown I can't be with my family this Christmas so I'm making cookies to box up and give to my family members.
I absolutely adore your gift idea videos!!! They are my faves!! The cookie jars have been very popular here for several years- I’ve noticed they are making a comeback also!!
I LOVE the headband ! 💞 This year I made some mugcake's prep, face scrubbing, body butter, and some cookies. I love DIY gifts. I put my heart into it and I can adapt the recipe for the person. 😊
I made Christmas stockings out of felt and little mitten ornaments out of felt that I am giving to friends. I also bought second hand books for my mother. I may also take home made cookies (biscuits) or carmal popcorn to neighbors.
Sounds lovely I never thought to do felt ornaments! Have you ever tried rolling or mixing popcorn or nuts with mincemeat and finely chopped bits of dried fruit and baking it spread out on a baking sheet for a little while - it goes really crispy and is yummy, packs nicely in bags as a gift too.
Perfect! I am going to make all of these. I love to sew, soooo I am making quilted place mats for the family that includes me in their holiday feasts and quilted casserole carriers for another dear friend and MYSELF oh my. Love the baking mason jar idea because it works for even fellas! So easy💕 I also made several no sew quilted Christmas ornaments-a tutorial on RUclips from Shabby Fabrics- and donated for a raffle at church-they were a hit and I have requests for more! Making gifts is the best!
Lovely gifts. I make some gifts every year, this year it's been hand knit socks, knitted dish cloths and kitchen towels topped with a crochet section where it can button around the fridge or stove handle, and we always do some baked goods as gifts. My girls have made beauty care scrubs. Merry Christmas!
Love all of these gifts!! Nothing like a handmade thoughtful gift!! Brilliant way to reuse old Christmas cards!! I have always hated just throwing them away!!
These were some really lovely gift ideas. I made an at home spa kit for my best friend made up of all natural products I made. (A vegan milk bath, some Epsom salts, a room spray and a salve - all lavender, peppermint and rosemary scented).
I found a small boy in the countryside making face masks using materials from all the favorite sports teams. It was fun trying to find a mask with everyones team but just in case you did not find the team you were looking for the little boy would find the material and sew one for you in only a few minutes. It makes a great gift for serious sports fans.
Wonderful ideas! My daughters could use the scrunchies and headbands. I usually make our married daughters their favorite cookies, and include a restaurant gift card to take their husband on a date. ❤

I'm making crazy quilts for my two little grandkids with material scraps that they love featuring their cartoon characters.
O how amazing for them to have!
Oh my god amazing! Wow!
I'm making aprons from secondhand fabric and then I've still got some handmade candles from lockdown to gift. The cookie mix is a great idea. A cake mix would be fun too

You are definitely a wonderful Lady.
So beautiful in all you do.
May God bless you.
The gifts you make are so thoughtful. I am not making anything this year but I thrifted a few items. I found a carafe in a thrift store to keep my water hot throughout the day for tea! One of your tips. 🎄
Beautiful gifts, and not a speck of glitter TG.
So right!
My sister is my KK and she's super into low waste living ... she'll love that baking mix! Thanks for the great ideas 🌼🌸🌼
Ohh great! 🎁🌹💝 lucky sister!
I love the idea of repurposing Christmas cards I have received as gift tags/notes, and the cookie or muffin mix in jars. A propagated plant is a thoughtful gift as well!
Lovely and very simple gifts to make. I personally love handmade gifts. I feel they are right from the heart.
Beautiful as always Niamh, love you videos 👍😉💕🍀
I love homemade gifts, especially at Christmas. Wish all my relatives were into this. It means so much to have a gift from the heart. I love nature so I love to root plants and give them away. I also make candy as gifts. As we get older, we don't need more "stuff", so something homemade, either food, plant or a craft is a wonderful gift.
Wonderful channel! I hope we all can try to practice being more conservative and low waste. Thank you for showing ways to be mindful while celebrating holidays and occasions
These kind of gifts are so thoughtful & I prefer them!!
I have spent a wet Sunday afternoon making homemade fircone firelighters to give to Friends instead of Christmas cards. I save leftover wax from candles throughout the year. They smell lovely.
Love the autumn winter seasons dislike summer intensely, born in November think that’s why ! Love your crafts
I like to give some homemade soap or bodycream or this year some homemade notebooks. Thanks for your videos. Very nice the idea of the cake mix. 🎅🎅👋👋
Such lovely ideas! 🌟❤️
Lovely gifts! I'm crocheting some scarves as gifts and since we are in lockdown I can't be with my family this Christmas so I'm making cookies to box up and give to my family members.
Ohh scarves and cookies!
Love the idea of using one year’s cards as tags the next year. Great gift ideas, too! Thanks so much. ❤️❤️
Thank you for the most precious gift of all………you make me feel so happy everytime I watch your videos! ❤️
Very nice ideas that are also easy to copy. Thank you for that wonderful video.
Beautiful gifts. I’d love to receive something really special like these.
i mostly crocheted my christmas presents this year - like you, i'm 100% self taught by tutorials
I made hand knitted Christmas stockings , jam, and soap for presents this year
These were some really lovely gift ideas.
Loved the snippets of the birds.
I love love the shots of the birds! So cute 😊
This is amazing 🤩 gifts that one would actually need: Soothing, Heathy, Natural, and Homemade 😊
Love this❤️

These are beautiful gifts, I personally would love to receive any of them.
Wonderful ideas! My daughters could use the scrunchies and headbands. I usually make our married daughters their favorite cookies, and include a restaurant gift card to take their husband on a date. ❤
How nice the gifts you made for others. The recipients will surely be pleased indeed🎄❄️☃️
I love your gift ideas!
