Niamh, thank you and hubby for creating this video. You guys truly are a source of light on youtube. This has been a terribly emotional couple of weeks for me and the only thing that I wanted to hear online was your old videos. They always bless me so much and almost serve as a mediatation or healing balm for my spirit. As for today's video....I loved how you put it about AI being like a baby at the moment and we are the parents. I do hope that humanity learns how to train up "AI" in the way it should go so that hopefully it'll be a blessing and not a curse in the long run. As for me personally, I am feeling more and more the need to slow down and be intentional with how I use technology. It can be a sort of bondage at times and I want to be break free from it all and enjoy the good side of AI but with intention. I love what you said about the food also. I hope to one day be able to get in such a head space that I can focus in on my health and the nutrition of real foods that is required for a healthier life. Thank you again for posting this video even though I know you must have been feeling a great deal of overwhelm as of late as I'm almost sure I could hear it in your beautiful voice. My heart goes out to you dear one and remember you're not alone. There are so many of us who are with you in spirit as this is a community of kindred spirits. I pray this overwhelm lifts soon for you and that you enjoy the best fruits of peace and joy that I know are sure to come to you soon. Sending love and thoughts of comfort to you~! ❤~ Amy Ps. I'm so glad you picked up crochet again~. It's one of my favourite relaxing hobbies. At the moment I'm working on making my mother a hexagon quilt but hope to pick up a bit of crochet again soon as it's my first learned craft in which I was taught by my beloved mamaw. 😊

I’m always happy to see you’ve posted a video. So calming and beautiful.
I also just want to turn back, so to speak, when I hear all this Ai talk. I love slow living and being present in my own life. I also had a hard month, but at present, we’re blessed to go by the ocean.
For me, my hope is in Christ. When I feel the world just getting too big, I run to the Lord and find my deepest satisfaction in His love and creation. Your the reason I’ve chosen to live this way. That first video so long ago, caught my attention and I said, I want to live more simple. We’ve been long time friends😊
Prayers for you that you feel well and rested.
      Fondly, Karen.

What do we value? How do we spend our time? And you present it all in a gentle, safe way that encourages people to lean into these questions.

Thank you for this video. I live in a small city in Tennessee. I can daily hear the busy traffic sounds but my heart is always listening to the sounds in my backyard. I have one birdhouse that has a family of wrens living in it. The other birdhouse has a family of tree swallows. There are several rabbits that are forever trying to get inside our gated vegetable garden. I find it a joy to watch them. I have learned at the age of 58 that beauty is never loud and loveliness is usually quite. I love God’s nature and I find peace there. I truly feel uncomfortable with AI perhaps because I don’t understand it. I like to educate myself in the world’s issues but I don’t stay there. I stay amongst my dishes in the kitchen where I cook meals for my family. I like being beside my flowers and my family. Have a bless day

I needed to hear this! I'm very ignorant about AI and also thought that it's something I could escape, because of my simple lifestyle. I realized now that we can only make a difference if we make ourselves heard. What I would like to teach AI is this: " The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.”

Yes, technology has some value, but I am seeing so many seeking natural things, ridding their homes of television and unplugging from social media, etc. I think it is a very good thing to get back to creating things, growing things and living a natural life with our bare feet in the grass, sunshine and fresh air (as much as that is possible). Thank you for reminding us how important it is to not let this fast paced world take over. I have a small yard where in the summer, we all gather. Its become our small sanctuary of watching the birds and bees enjoy the flowers. We grow vegetables and try to stay grounded. Simplicity and back to basics in a busy world is a challenge but we try hard to remember the simple pleasures mean the most in life. Thank you for your lovely peaceful videos. I really enjoy them. I do have a lot of knowledge about this and it’s not quite as simple as you described it in this video. I am aware that you did mention that you’ve only listened to a couple of podcasts so this it not critisism in any way. I belive everyone should look in to the social credit system in china on this topic. And question things: Who control the ethics of AI? Who program it? Even if it’s learning in a childlike way it’s NOT a child. There is no empathy or other forgiving human traits. Who’s controlling the ”ethics” of AI? Do your own research, don’t accept only the positive sides and the progress AI brings humanity, research the darker sides as well. Thank you for this video Niambh, this is an important subject which should be discussed on a more common human level. It is important that everyone understands it.

So much of what you have discussed in this video resonates with me. I don’t know much about AI, but as a person who lives a conscious lifestyle in the wilderness of northern 🇨🇦, I try to spend quality time in the outdoors, limit my screen time everyday, and contribute positively to society both on and off line. It’s my personal opinion that we need to stay in touch with tactile activities which also engage our brain. For me, this comes in the form of outdoor physical activity, hands-on hobbies, reading physical books and writing notes, cooking whole foods, and of course socializing with my friends and family in a face-to-face manner and not just on social media. I’m a skill toy enthusiast!! Skill toys (yoyo, kendama, monkey knuckles, etc.) engage both sides of our brain whilst also honing our fine motor skills. I’m also a sewist and a crafter, a wild swimmer, and like you Niamh, a person who spends quality time in my kitchen cooking nutritious food. At the end of every day I glance back on the day’s events and quietly celebrate the time spent engaging my brain and my hands, as well as being outdoors and away from screens. This is working for me, and it brings me peace and fulfillment. Thanks so much Niamh for putting your time and energy into this quality video today. It’s such an important topic, and I always value what you have to say and share with us here in this community. Enjoy your summer and we’ll see you here in July. Ⓜary💕🌲💦

I find that I have to step back from people and the news more often with everything going on. It becomes overwhelming. I don't rush to answer my phone or email. I see people so involved in social media and the so called 'influencers' are not always positive. To me many of them are bubbly and beautiful but promote an artificial lifestyle. I go back to the old ways, the slow ways and centre myself. Spending more time in my garden, chatting with my plants is my place of peace. I spend as much time as possible with my granddaughter who is almost 20 month old. We play, sing, make loud music and go for walks. She brings me much joy and laughter. I've been kinder in my self talk too which is so much less stressful. I find listening to you chat, watching you work in your home and go on your beautiful walks so relaxing and comforting. This is my favorite of all your videos and provided an answer to my request for Divine guidance only several hours ago. Yes, I'm doing the same as you and focusing on food, home, and creating. I did watch the first Mo Gawdat video and will watch the second tonight. It was 2 hours well spent as his video gave me an answer too, along with a more serious perspective of AI. I will be very mindful of my comments, clicks and searches from now on. Many who watch this channel are probably aware that we are encouraged to focus on what we want and not give a lot of attention to what we don't want, and to also think and speak in a positive way to help bring the best possible outcome. You said it was difficult for you to find time for this month's video, and I'm so glad you did - thank you! Thank you also to your husband for his efforts to put something together for us. I don't know anything about AI but, I do know I don't like anything artificial. We have been become more aware of what we want for ourselves. We use more herbs, grow more food and raise chickens in case the time comes where we aren't comfortable buying at a store. We have chosen to live as simply as possible in these times. ❤ The Lord used you to bless me today. When you said about the herbs and weeds that grow around us because it's what we need. We have wild Chamomile, two types of Mullein and Comfrey growing randomly along with tons of mint. I take that message as Breathe deep and relax. :)

I love educating our daughter at home and spending time with her. I enjoy walking barefoot in our garden and yard (careful of the bees!). I appreciate the smells of rain, soil, flowers, etc. Since beginning to live a more real life, I notice the changing of the seasons and the little happenings in nature. It's all wonderful, and it is enough. I take part in the world to some degree, but the real things are what I enjoy.

Everything you say makes common sense to me . I've been watching RUclips a lot recently and have become increasingly aware of all the bad things that are going on in this world that God made so beautiful that man has destroyed . I find myself wanting to go back in time to when life was much slower and less greedy . I grew up in the 40's and 50's when because of wars we were all in the same boat , struggling to recover from rationing and shortages . People and life seemed better then and we helped each other more .Now folk have become greedy and selfish and the amount of violence in the streets is appalling. We have come to feel entitled , to want everything on a plate . This of course is a generalisation and there are nice , decent people out there , but we have lost the knack of being grateful for what we have and we seem to want more all the time .I love your videos , they make me feel that all is not lost , they make me want to look for the good in life and to be happy in the quiet times and to slow down . I don't long for things I can't have except maybe , better health . I just plod on on from day to day , getting on with my chores and switch off from the world around me . I lost my Son on Christmas Day and it has changed me forever . I no longer give importance to lots of things that I used to . Now I'm just grateful for my remaining two Daughters and live my life as quietly as I can . I thank God for my Husband and for the 20 Grandchildren He's blessed me with .Yes , I'm grieving for my Son and always will , but I can't change that so I have to accept my loss and just be grateful for all the family I have left . I'm sorry you're having a bit of a struggle , I'm sure it will pass when you look at your beautiful Daughter and lovely Husband and the comfortable home you have made for you all , and remember that everything is in God's hands , all we can do is love each other and make the most of every day.Thank you for your lovely videos and God bless you all xxx 💕

I am so glad you made a video and poured out your thoughts. I found it interesting about the AI part and what we feed it. I’ve always understood that one cannot stop progress, but that does not mean that all old fashioned things must go. Old fashioned is what builds the foundation into something strong. So I myself have found myself into similar shoes, as the whir and 2020’s lifestyle screams the “new pace” of fake foods, doom and gloom, I find myself grounding into the foundation of the earth. Going slower with the rhythm of nature. I so enjoyed listening to your thoughts and seeing your garden and crafts, tea, etc. One thing I find soothing about your home is because you truly do try to live sustainably your home isn’t a constant trend turnover so tuning in is a visual comfort of sameness like walking into an old friends home. Take care!

Over the years I have learned about planting natives in my area, plants that bees and butterflies need for food, building raised beds to plant a garden to feed me, how much I love starting my days with a cup of coffee in one hand and weeding or deadheading my flower beds with the other, spending time crafting, using nature and crafts to decorate my home instead of store bought things, eliminating so much clutter and making time to camp around the state. Love videos like this to teach me more about slow living. TY

I've had to continually recalibrate what I do around the house and on screens. Asking: Does this activity nourish me or deplete me? Thank you for providing nourishing videos and giving me a different perspective to the mechanism behind all the 'feeds' of products and content the screens are giving me. Thinking: "This is like a small child's best guess for what I would like." I can now practice more compassion toward the negative things that pop up in my feeds, instead of reacting with anger. Anger doesn't nourish anyone. With love from Florida. 🧡🌺🏵🌼🌸

Thank you for making this video on top of all that you are carrying. You have talked on a topic that I am very concerned about. Because AI is a new frontier, the embryo being taught has caused me to wonder how the future generation will be affected. I know that EVERYTHING we say or do is being recorded. The rising generation love the electronics and are constantly taping and recording. This is a sobering concept and it creates a greater awareness of care in all that is said and done. I am of an older generation, So, I strive to do my part by staying close to those things that I love: the trees, plants, flowers, critters, and animals in nature. To maintain a garden and support those who are able to do a greater good. I think you are one of them. Your videos do a world of good to inform and where to keep ones priorities. You are affecting so many for good. Thank-you, Thank-you!!🥰

Those words strucked me quite profoundly that made me sorta emotional when I think of how much this world has lost its wisdom of the old ways that made life so much simpler and happier. Your videos are always a good inspiration to inspire us to take things slow... Much love to you!

I am really feeling this way lately. You captured my feelings quite well. We can’t trust organics here anymore (in the US at least) because they are now being sprayed with over 300 “organic” sprays, which isn’t better and who knows the real consequences. I try to grow my own so I know it’s not sprayed but it’s hit or miss (I live in the mountains of AZ and it’s hard to grow many things) I am finding myself returning to basics overall, including my social experience. I do not participate in social media but I do watch you tube. I am finding the vast majority of channels I watched have become overburdening with sponsors and influencing. It has become quite fake and the more I find out about how fake, I don’t want to watch them. I have always cooked 99% of all of our meals, I tend to eat more basic than my partner and kids so I make them the more elaborate meals. Thank you for staying with your values and giving us ideas on how to really live a simple and basic life. ❤
