First helmet I bought was a zox modular helmet at $150. This might of been a better option at the time. After 2 years the helmet stopped fitting correctly. The drop down visor wouldn't go up all the way after like 7 months use. Modular helmets are great for people who wear prescription glasses. This helmet seems pretty good, might recommend it to my uncle who might be getting back into riding at 60. I upgraded my helmet to a bell race star, works pretty good with my glasses
I have the capstone 1 in white and my only problem with it is that the internal sun visor was a bit too long. Cut my nose on the second day of riding. Easily solved with a Dremel and grinding bit though. I’ll be curious to see if the nose area is the same length on the second gen or not.
Great video Nick! Very informative. If you are going to be doing reviews on riding jeans and pants, I’d love to hear your take on the FXRG Armalith denim jeans. Thinking about picking up a pair and I’d be interested to hear your opinion first. Thanks!
Thank you for watching! I’d love to take a look at the pants, hopefully one day we will stock them or this channel will get enough views where I can request sample gear!
Purchased this helmet and really like it, however, the latch mechanism isn’t working as well as expected. It takes some effort to get it to latch down and several try’s. Also does H-D offer replacement cheek pads. Mine is a medium and the pads are extremely tight.
Call your local HD dealer and see if they stock it, then try one on! If not your local cycle gear will have the i90 HJC which is the same helmet, just without the HD graphics, and you could try that one on and then order the HD version Online if you like the graphics/colors, or you could save 20-30 bucks and the simpler HJC colors are a bit cheaper! That way you know it fits you before you buy!
I installed the sena10 Bluetooth system in this helmet. The control panel lines up right where the tint drop down lever is. So shades still needed unfortunately
My local dealer has a very limited supply of helmets, does Harley make any modular helmets in carbon fiber? I know they have carbon fiber in full face but I’d like to have it in the modular design
Hi Shaun .I agree ,any helmet that has a high vent in mid top of helmet like this one ,it will be loud an noisy. I tried hjc lately , mega loud helmet. I on 18 RGS , the more vent the louder they get
Am I wrong to think this helmet is perfect for E-scooter going 60km/h ? You say around 8:10 that it's poly-carbonate plastic is safer at lower speed than other helmets material
Aerodynamics are supposedly improved from the Capstone, both because of the shape, but also because they were able to make the external shell a bit smaller for each size. I'll make sure to mention that in the helmet videos I shoot in the future!
Hi Nick great job on the video, I have a question about Harley Davidson gear. I live in Pa and ride year around so heated gear was a MUST for me. That being said I paid DEARLY for a heated jacket with a lifetime warranty. The jacket stopped working a few years later. Under that circumstance would the dealership honor my lifetime warranty and give me another one for free? If so what if that replacement jacket came with a one year warranty, would that be grandfathered into a lifetime warranty? Sorry for the difficult question but I had a bad experience with my dealership and in my opinion I wasn't treated fairly. So I guess to recap my question is if I buy an item with a lifetime warranty does that carry over to other item along the same line due to the fact that item isn't supported anymore? 🤔
Sad to admit this but I’m not as familiar with the gear warranties as I am with motorcycle warranties, but I’ll check with our motorclothes dept. manager. If I had to guess, if it was a Harley jacket that had a lifetime warranty, it should be replaced. If because that jacket or other product is no longer available, a like good is offered, I think you would at that point only have the warranty of the new jacket unfortunately, which I agree is less than ideal considering that you bought a jacket with the mindset of not having to replace it due to failure of the heating element. It’s one of those things that I don’t like about “lifetime” warranties, and we see it in the motorcycle world as well at other dealers. Sometimes due to the simple mechanics of things no longer being in production, they aren’t truly “lifetime.” It’s a big part of why H-D won’t do a lifetime warranty in their bikes, after about 15 years there isn’t much old oem stock and lots of the stuff out there that is rubber based simply won’t be as reliable as when it was first produced. But back to your jacket, the too long didn’t read end of it is that if I had to guess, (which I have to because it’s the weekend and we are closed technically but I don’t want to forget to reply to you Ken) is that they will likely replace the jacket, but the new jacket will have whatever warranty that new jacket has, it wouldn’t be grandfathered into the lifetime warranty, which I agree is messed up considering you bought the other jacket expecting it to last as long as you wanted to wear it, not however long it took to break, if that makes sense. Sorry that you feel your local dealer isn’t treating you how they should, but I can also see them being in a bit of a tough spot if they can’t offer you the same jacket as before because it’s now “obsolete” and they can’t order it. The problem was really with offering a lifetime warranty. In my opinion a company should only really do that (Harley included) if they plan on making that same product indefinitely. On the flip side of it, hopefully at a minimum they get you a really nice jacket in exchange for your broken one. Sorry I don’t have better news Ken, that’s frustrating. But I’ll check with my manager at work and see if I’m wrong, hopefully I am!
@@TH3G0ODGUY thank you Nick that was a very good explanation I appreciate your honesty and truly believe that at this point it is what it is. I do see the same dealership offering a lifetime engine warranty on the Milwaukee eight engine. I would imagine that is done through a third-party service and not really through Harley-Davidson
These helmets are cool, but a DOT rating being the only one, I think I’ll pass. I want to protect my brain a little more then the low DOT standards allows.

Happy to see that you're doing helmet reviews. Keep them coming.
Awesome Nick. Great, in depth review 👍
Hi from Sydney Australia.
Thanks for watching
Yep, keep these coming. Subscribed.
Thanks will do!
Dude yes!! No one doing these reviews.
I’ll keep on bringing out more content so everyone has a place to turn for some info on all this gear!
Check out speed kings cycles /biltwell /get lowered / they all also do reviews 🤙
Yes but not on Harley gear specifically
@@noahkight8023 true 🤙👊
HD must be damn proud of that helmet to put that giant logo on the back.
Looks good
Good job. I would like to see some close up and a tear down
I’ll try and include more footage of that as I shoot more reviews!
Great job Nick 👍
Thanks! Hope you enjoyed it and looking forward to uploading more of them!!
Please review H-D luggage!
Hadn’t thought to do that! I’ll definitely review a few pieces!

Try one on at your local dealer and let us know if the visor fits you any better!

Is this helmet compatible with the Boom! Audio Full Helmet Premium Music and Communications Headset?

Glad you liked it Jimmy!
Hey Nick, did I hear right that these are better at low speeds? What about on the highway at about 65 mph?

What's the little pad that came with it for?

What tint and anti fog lens can go on here?. I’ve obviously got the wrong one and of course they dont fit
HJC HJ-33 Pinlock, and the visor you can use the HJC I-90's one
Great info/review but you didn’t mention anything regarding it’s aerodynamics

Good call Orlando. Helmet noise .
Hi Nick does the Capstone come with the pin lock shield or do you have to buy that separately?
I know it's been two months, but yes it comes with the tinted visor and the clear face shield. The helmet looks big on me, but it's a solid helmet.
Any advice on size of helmet
Is it the new fxrg?
No the FXrG is a cut above this and is Fiberglass, rather than polycarb, both are HJC manufactured though!

“Polycarbonate” = plastic
Correct
Oversimplification but sure.
