    I got seriously into bicycle racing back in 1984, and my friend and I were total fanatics. My friend worked at a bike shop, and he ordered in a book, which was the training manual of the Italian National Cycling team. In that book, in the section of post exercise recovery, was raising your legs up against the wall! We did that all the time after training and racing. I still ride, and I'm still putting my legs up against the wall after a good workout. I laughed when I saw this video, but I know from experience that it does work wonders!

      Yes, I agree the 45 degree does enough to empty blood out, I even tend to do that during the day out of habit (am on feet a lot).
      However, I have enjoyed the added bonuses of relaxing hip and leg stretching at the higher degree... it has been great, and the video reinspired me as to why I was doing it in the first place.

    So I saw this video about 20 min ago and thought to myself “this looks easy enough”. 😂
    Then I got down on the floor and tried to schooch my butt up to the wall. I should have filmed that. 😂
    I wasn’t able to make full contact but I was pretty close so I decided to continue.

    also the amount of comments asking when to do this in unreal. it literally doesn't matter. if you were standing or walking the entire day, doing this after will probably help the sore feet but that's it.

    I don't know about the all the benefits and I never took my mom's advice on this seriously until one time, I walked 12km in one evening wearing Crocs! I knew my legs were going to be so sore. I remembered my mom's advice and put my leg up the wall for half an hour before I slept. My legs were totally fine the next day! No soreness, nothing! I usually get sore legs just by walking around the shopping mall for too long. From then on, I've been telling people about this but most people don't take it seriously.
    Btw, you don't need your legs to be that straight up against the wall. Just as straight as you're comfortable with.

      Do it slowly, especially getting down to the floor and moving out of position after. Also, do this posture with modifications- lay on the floor and raise your legs 45 degrees to the wall instead of 90 degrees. Get comfortable with that for 10 or 20 minutes daily. After ¹ or 2 wks daily use, now increase to 20 mins like this. After another week, try the full position for 10 minutes. A week or 2 later, increase to 20minutes.
      Point is: take your time and still try, the benefits will be there and you'll see progressive improvement until you can make the full movement 🙌🏾

    I have done this on a regular basis but only for about 2 - minutes. However I have read in several sources - including in a book on yoga - that those who have high blood pressure should refrain from doing this exercises, including head stands, becasue it can potenially increase blood pressure to dangerous levels. I am not a doctor I am just passing on this information. Anyone who is interested can easily find this info online or ask their doctor(s).

    I can attest that this does works. I have been doing for months way before watching this video and i do get relief after. So I was amazed to come across this video when I have been doing it all along but it was a natural response to desperation of trying to find some pain relief from my legs.

      You don't need to. As long as you elevate the legs about 45 degrees you get the same benefits.

    what is the best time to do this exercise for female?

    • @Medicalwalecom
      @Medicalwalecom  3 года назад

      The best time to exercise is whenever you can
      If your only time of day to exercise is before work, then morning is best. If you reserve physical activity for packed evenings, there's a good chance you won't ever get to it.

    • @Medicalwalecom
      @Medicalwalecom  3 года назад +2

      Yes it can reduce, Leg raises are great for your abs and the obliques. It helps in building stronger abs, increase stability and strength, melt belly fat and tone your body. Leg raises completely isolates the rectus abdominis muscle which helps in toning your stomach

    Of all the trends and gimmicks in the fitness industry for what to do post workout, none have ever provided me the relaxation and general feeling of an active recovery after hard exercise than when I have laid in this position for 10-15 or so minutes.

    Do after eating or before eating

    • @Medicalwalecom
      @Medicalwalecom  3 года назад

      You shouldn't exercise right after eating a large meal, as you may feel bloating or muscle cramping. It's better to eat low-fiber, low-fat, and high-carbohydrate snacks 30 to 45 minutes before exercising.
