This idea cured a persistent back pain I'd had all day, in about 5 minutes of just lying there with my legs up the wall. The effect was nothing short of miraculous.
Wow. Like❤️. Done this exercise only for three days in the evening. Already paying off. First time felt terrible, my legs and lower back so stiff muscles . But tonight already so much better. Even my feet/ancles are better. Thank you.
Excellent video. In our yoga class, legs up the wall is one of the ways of relaxing the body, after a physically invigorating vinyasa session. A couple of additional drills that can be included (based on what we practice). 1. Before widening both the legs along the wall, one leg can be on the wall, and the other leg can be brought down along the wall to the floor to be perpendicular to the leg on the wall. Stay in this position for a few breaths, and slowly take the leg back along the wall to join the other leg. Repeat on the other side. 2. Bend the knees to come to bound angle pose (badhdha konasana) and gently do a few rounds of butterfly flaps.
I do these upside down on the recliner. The backup and the leg extension out and my legs up on the back of the recliner. The ability to move the back of the recliner up and down also facilitates in the intensity of the exercises. Good stuff especially when you don't have a wall to utilise or you don't want to be on the floor.
I’m in fairly good shape and the “4’s” were easy for me but I was astonished at how taxing the rotations were, esp when my feet were closer together and then when they were at their widest. Thank you so very very much for this, I’ll continue these
I can't even thank you enough for explaining how to get yourself in that position to begin with. I am 63, still work and am active but I am not flexible. Never was. Also bad knees. So, thank you again. Also, I have varicose veins with bad valves. I wear compression Stockings everyday and they are a life saver. I think that this will also help me immensely with that. Thank you so much again. P.S. I was so excited about you explaining how to get in the position to start that I subscribed to your channel. ❤
Thank you so much for sharing that with me! Happy that this is helpful for you and yes, so many people don't actually explain how to get your legs up the wall :)
These stretches are really amazing !! I have done them before and do them atleast thrice a week which gives a good relaxation to the whole legs and good sleep .. love it ❤
WOW. The pose with the legs in a 4 position, then bent the other leg - that pose fired a trigger point in my glutes on both sides. I stayed at that a long spell. All the positions challenged me. I need this daily. My first time here and I'll be a regular.
Nice video. There are millions of yoga videos on RUclips. Your explanations stand out. I’m a 72 yo guy and have knee pain walking up and down stairs. Watched that video which was great and I will do that. Looking for something about bursitis in hips. Didn’t see anything. Thank you for sharing.
Have you ever watched Bob and Brad physical therapists on the internet? This is one, but there are several if you do a search. ruclips.net/video/xa7TfvJOn2A/видео.html
I was getting swelling in one foot/leg and after only 2 10min/day sessions it is almost totally gone!! And the dog loves it--thinks I'm getting ready to play lol
Omg! Is that true? I have been suffering from behind the knee swelling in both my legs, those that get tender sometimes. Not sure why they are happening and have been to two orthopaedic doctors. Nothing has worked so far. Yesterday I spotted swelling around my ankles too. I'll try this though I can't reduce the gap between my butt and the wall.
I am not well at the moment 🤧😮💨when I feel a bit stronger I will trying the wall exercise to help with hips pain 😖 Can you do the side of the bed 🛌 or sofa 🛋️?
I love legs up the wall but never done it with any movement, I am stiff in my lower back & hips, right side in particular, Getting discomfort in buttock - piriformis? in figure 4 pose, any tips, thank you for all your information. Kathrine
Is this safe if you've had a hip replacement.... I'm 6 weeks post op .... My surgeon said I can do exercise like Pilates etc but I'm a bit weary about dislocation so if anyone can "advise" please and I accept it's not medical advice
If you start with your body a foot or so away from the wall, that would help. Tight hamstrings and then placing yourself too close to the wall tends to make it feel like you're being pushed away from the wall.
Yoga Teacher, how much time is safe to put the feet on the wall, and how is breathing should be done casual breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth? Any danger if we do more than 20 minutes?
Doesn't doing all those movements counteract the original purpose of doing legs up the wall? Just started doing this activity and I'm sure it will be good in the long run.

That's amazing!
Best solution for varicose viens patients.
at 78, I do this daily for 20 minutes! thanks!

My hip pain is lessened with this exercise. I try to aim for 30 minutes daily! glad it's good for me.

It’s better to use a cushion (rolled towel) under our back or close to the hip area to get closer to the wall
This was great, thanks :)

Is this safe if you've had a hip replacement.... I'm 6 weeks post op .... My surgeon said I can do exercise like Pilates etc but I'm a bit weary about dislocation so if anyone can "advise" please and I accept it's not medical advice
Your physical therapist would have the answer… also show the therapist this video
Is it okay to not use a wall? Is it more beneficial to use wall? Thanks for your helpful video!
If you can do without wall that's great.. To hold for 20 mins we need abdominal muscles to be strong, so we take support of wall.
I dont like abs excersises, but do this excersise withou wall my belly fat dissapeared and much stronger core
Great quality videos. So helpful. Thank you for helping me pay better attention to my body. 🫵💪
I do this when.i wake up
Thanks
I keep getting pushed away from the wall. Any suggestions?

Hi. Is this activity safe for a 71 year old
Can these wall on leg exercise be done by people who have undergone total hip replacement surgery after two from the gate of surgery.
You need to ask your own doctor these questions - People on RUclips vids can't give you that kind of advice.
No mention of how many repeats to do.
Great video, much needed thank you
