They don't just say F the fans they full disrespect the Japanese corps and creators by saying "I made it not weird 'or' I fixed it."

Wish there were more fansubbers but that's thankless work. People still gang up on fan translations, it's hard not to be biased when writing a script. Some people care about nuance in conversation others don't. I feel like the community is split into 3. You got Dubb watchers who don't care about the subs, people who like the mistranslations since they don't have to learn about another culture, and then people who want direct translations because the language in anime is so different from western media. I personally want a direct translation. Biggest immersion break is when in an anime they are talking about food or drinks, and they just say burger or cola to describe the meal on the table that's just a simple example there are numerous occasions where the subtitles don't even relate to the scene at all. I get most my anime a few days before the Crunchyroll/Western release so most of the subs are MTL from the uploader anyways. Besides small grammatical errors I prefer the MTL over a complete rewrite of a script.

It truly is hard to everyone that's why that should never be the goal. Who are the people that truly love what you're creating should be the aim rather than those who show up only when it's cool.
I will say there is an overwhelming agreement in disliking these Localizers who make it their duty to deliberately change and mistranslate to self serve themselves. That's just wicked and why they get so much push back for it

7:15 it doesnt help that the creators of anime dont get any money from america it all goes to crunchyroll or whatever is streaming the anime. most of the dubbers get paid an amount to work on projects not an amount based on popularity of show. which allows for less risk on either side however it also means the creators of the anime get a very small amount or money AND they dont give two shits about what we think about the anime because what we think doesnt matter it gives them no money. (not saying its a bad thing its a smarter way of working)

I'd say they do care about these localizers intentionally destroying their anime by adopting AI translations. It's an inevitable outcome but these localizers have speed up the process by not doing their job correctly

@@montemusic90 yes 100% i think they care about the subtitles because thats destroying their art but its harder for them to have any say in it because of the way its set up so the A.I will help not only cut costs and make it quicker but it will help with shity people doing shity things

Changing the dialogue intentionally to change the framing of the characters and the story as a whole. It's a huge problem in the industry
