Not really but closer in vfx, monster high has more colorfull vibes and you can reconice the monsters fairly easily. But the nickelodeon movie had a decent setting, i recently discover that the rooms were part of an abandoned psychiatric.
You expected a Nickelodeon original movie with a low budget to look like this?!

With each behind the scenes vid on RUclips my hopes for this show has raised. I’ve gone from intrigued to cautiously optimistic and now I’m treading on the ground of genuine excitement, I’m still tempering my expectations but I’m starting to think this actually going to be a good show
I believe that we should put ourselves in a similar mentality as wednesday in regards to this show.
I fear that you must be wednesday to enjoy it.
my thoughts exactly. I'm pretty hyped but definitely wary of anything netflix original since their past content has been a little...mediocre. But I feel like i can see geniune thought put into the set design and worldbuilding so my hopes are high!
@@crispyein8601 what past content has been mediocre? None of their American tv series have flopped, only dubbed shows shot in other countries have. Umbrella Academy, fantastic. Stranger Things, the best thing on "tv", Sweet Tooth, refreshing. They have not missed with a TV show in this genre.
@@ConnorLipke true stranger things is peak🔥 and i did enjoy umbrella academy (although in my opinion the plot definitely went sideways in the second and third season but that might have been what gerard way intended idk) so i guess im talking about things that netflix has made that were mainstream for being bad: kissing booth, emily in paris, tall girl, 365 days, etc.. still looking forward to this show though! But that’s mostly because of Jenna Ortega being amazing and the crew putting in time and dedication, not because it’s under the Netflix name!
I absolutely called the bit about the window, but I think it goes deeper than that: Wednesday and Enid are not like the others and they're not like each other. One's the dark with the light and the other's the light with the dark. She and Wednesday are also probably the outsiders of the outsiders and that helps totally establish the unique bond right away too.
The classic conflict of a roommate is that you don't get along.
@@TacShooter I agree. With Wednesday and Enid, I wouldn't be surprised if their dynamic is similar to the one with Amanda in Addams Family Values. That said, Amanda was actually an intolerant snob and a nemesis, so I definitely don't get that vibe from Enid. I see conflict between both Wednesday and Enid, but nowhere near that level though.

Writers always create characters based on people they knew in life.
"Since I've been here I've been hunted, haunted, and the target of an attempted murder." Honestly not being able tell if that's a good or bad thing for Wednesday is the perfect example of her character. I think she's enjoying it?

This feels like what Chilling Adventures of Sabrina could have been if there'd been a greater degree of focus and consistency.
Dunno sabrina is campy sopa opera and it's pretty fun if you know what you are watching.
@@videogamesworld01 at times, yes, but that show changed gears so many times throughout it's run, even within individual episodes. It felt like a 20-person writing room where every day they spun a wheel to decide who took lead and made final decisions

@Alex But the show is it's own thing, and doesn't at all maintain much of the darkness, at least not consistently, so yes, my comparison definitely stands, especially the point about how very inconsistent Sabrina was.

I would agree, if it weren't for the simple fact that Crunchem Hall Elementary was supposed to normal, light, and welcoming. Instead, they got a sadistic, child-hating bully that the Addams' Family would destroy, with enthusiasm. Similarly, Nevermore Academy was created to best serve its students. As wonderful as Miss Honey was, she probably wouldn't be a good fit here. So, yes, Nevermore would be a terrifying place for any child from Crunchem Hall; but, then, Crunchem Hall (under Miss Honey) would be a terrifying place for the students at Nevermore. Miss Trunchbull wouldn't last long.
I just hope the series doesn’t forget the family aspect. It’s cool to explore the weirdos outside the Addams, but one of the strengths of this franchise has always been this loving family trying to be there for each other and accepting each other. And it might even be interesting to explore the idea that even in a setting like Nevermore this family still finds a way to be stranger then the school that already is supposed to be strange
I'm really surprised Tim Burton never did an Addams Family adaptation earlier. Seems like he would have always been the perfect director for the show.
He was originally meant to be the one doing the animated movie, way back when it was first announced

I was sooo WRONG about this show, I LOVE IT, Tim Burton and the rest did a fantastic job with the Adams, Jenna Ortega is as fantastic as Wednesday and Crhistina Ricci was back in the day and so happy Christina is also here, I hardly can't wait for season 2.

If this turns out to be like a 2022 version of one of Tim Burton’s late 80s/early 90s stuff or a darker Return To Oz with limited CGI, I’m all for it. Kids today deserve something half decent rather than the CGI stupidity they’ve been getting for the last 20 years. The cast looks pretty good. Hopefully if it is that good it does well.

I think this series is a very unique one, and seeing Tim Burton produce this series is even more great because Tim Burton is not like any other producer he like to think things in a different perspective which makes all of his movies great and unique seeing him make this and by using his imagination is just breathtaking

This show is 10/10 (rated from someone who watches all the tv shows) 100% recommend.
I would put it on same level as squid game, something unique, entertaining throughout all episodes, and am not gona lie, I started watching first episode, and ended up next morning watching all the rest. Cannot wait s2.

I know that some people aren't too fond of Luiz Guzman's take on Gomez, but I just LOVED his reaction to Wednesday there.
The only thing I really miss about Wednesday is the fact for her to smile was a huge struggle and this one looks like she struggles not to smile. But I can tell it will be a great movie, but we know who is our favorite Wednesday ❤️

After watching the way she can do a perfect stare down during a fight and how well she does fights.. I would love to see her in the MCU..... She's a very talented kid! I look forward to watching her do more. She absolutely deserves a few chances for some good future roles
I find it interesting that this came after the fan made RUclips series "Adult Wednesday Adams" became popular, but was taken down because of copyright violations by the Adam's Family owners. Adult Wednesday Adams was popular, and in its 3rd season.
And now, there's a movie (of course, without the star of the RUclips series).

I cant wait for the show my only wish is that Netflix would release their episodes once a week or something, just to keep the suspense and have a chance to discuss it before the next episode. its not fun when people watch the whole show in one day and throw a bunch of spoilers the next day.
What's intriguing to me, after seeing these videos, is how this series can potentially answer some obvious questions about the Addams Family that no one ever bothered to ask. For example, where did Morticia Addams (maiden name: FRUMP) and the other Addams spouses come from? They couldn't possibly both be a family that huge AND be incestuous. And there may also be some discussion of where the family's wealth comes from.
So while not everything here is a surprise (I had guessed that Enid was a wolf, for example, and can see some borrowed ideas about the school), there's somewhere for this series to go, if they do it right.
P.S. It's interesting to see Burton cast the imposing Gwendolyn Christie as someone elegant, and even feminine: this will be a big change from Brienne and Phasma.

Its a real place in Romania, enchanced with some 3D. Romania is like the go-to country for creepy places. There are a ton of this stuff in the country and i really feel they can still explore almost nothing of it in 8 seasons, thats how much ‘haunted’ stuff is there

Jenna Ortega was born to play Wednesday Addams, I love this version of the character, Jenna really nails it, she must have went/been through a lot to look like the character. She deserves an Oscar award
OMG they went all out with everything! I so cannot wait to watch this. All the teasers leading up to this moment, and the set and the cast are fantastic!! I just love the details being to carefully crafted and made just for this and you can always tell when you put in the work, you will be rewarded!!

Netflix is now the biggest entity that can experiment with augmented reality in their app or website with the theme of its most famous and popular shows/movies like stranger things.... so on.
They should start with augmented reality based interactions with their famous show characters and universes, where people could interact in augmented reality universes, record and share that on social media, this could even be used as a marketing idea.
Once enough buzz is created using augmented reality interactions, they could use these interactions to build a show specific metaverse which could almost be like a theme park something like a virtual Disney land for each show or just 1 big netflix theme park.
