The fact Victor isn't even an actor but a magician and still nailed the expressiveness with only his hand is insane. Props to him, he's incredible
Makes sense because actors work with their face (that's what the audience looks at most) and often just let their hands hang at their sides (in interviews, a lot of actors say they usually don't know what to do with their hands in a scene).
With magicians it's the opposite, the audience watches their hands the most so performers always have nimble, expressive hands.
@@nommyyt fair enough., as a dancer I assumed so about being a dancer and using my hands for modelling or acting as well, but I guess knowing very little about acting, assumed an actor would be trained in using their hands

The chemistry between Wednesday and Thing was delightful. Came off as effortless, but clearly it was a huge amount of work to make it so. Hats off to all the artists. Wonderful stuff.

Took the words out of my mouth. I was thinking making a dancer or pianist could do it, but having a magician is absolutely inspired.
Originally, Thing is the severed hand of a magician. So it’s extra nice they stuck with the same concept.
he deserve award for his performance
This guy, in my opinion, was the best actor in the series. All the actors were good, but he really stood out the most. The range he was able to convey with just his hand was incredible, and props to the entire VFX team for making it seamless.
It's crazy how despite thing is only a hand and can't talk they still have managed to make him show emotions it really takes extreme talent, this series was so well made, there isn't a single thing about this series that i didn't like, excellent twists and turns, outstanding performance from the main actors and the whole cast and crew seriously if we don't get a season two i'm seriously ending it all because i won't stand it!! WE NEED SEASON TWO WE LOVE WEDNESDAY

the ending was a bit underwhelming i felt like the reveal of the gate girl and the boss fight ...rest its an amazing show .... hope they come back soon with season 2

They are very good at slight of hand
He's used to his hands being there focus of his performance, whereas an actors focus is usually on the face. It makes sense.

Victor Dorobantu is a great phenomenal artist that he made the whole world feel emotions with just his hand. He was so perfectly casted as Thing that no other Thing ever made could top that. These are world class performers and Victor deserves all the recognition, love and support in the world !!! Also the VFX team did a brilliant job

This series would be nothing without Thing, the hand actor did an amazing job. The way Victor was able to portray emotions and communicate with just his fingers/hand

I watched the show with my brother and at one point was like “Aww, how cute-“ and then paused and said “I never thought I’d find a severed hand cute.” He brought so much personality to Thing.
I adore Thing. The way he was personified was masterful. Props to all the actors, special effects teams and directors. Thing’s character was perfectly executed.

Thing was perfect in every way! Thing has always been my favorite since the 60s, and Vincent did a stellar job. The chemistry between Wednesday and Thing is nothing short of brilliant.

Getting a magician to play as thing is absolutely genius, though. Hands-off to them, for that.
Thing is such a great character, he's definitely one of my favorites from the show.
Thing was my favorite throughout the series, props to the hand actor for channeling everything through his fingies!
Props to them for going with a live actor. It definitely added a sense of realism to Thing and probably made it easier for the actors to interact with the character. Massive, massive props to Victor for portraying Thing so beautifully. For an appendage, he sure could emote!
You can tell for her the hardest part was that the thing/hand was CGI

The hand actor is really good at his job! Couldn't believe a single hand was able to show emotions and display it's thoughts so clearly with it's movement that it was water clear what it was trying to express. Kudos to the team and all the other actors as well! This show is AMAZING

When I watched the show, I was just amazed that I even considered it a character. I mean it's just a hand. But he was great.
Thing was already great in the 1990’s AF but they made him better in this adaptation and he really quickly became my favorite character cause he’s so cute and endearing. I’m weary about reboots but I feel they really did the franchise justice with this one ❤️

I didn`t know that they filmed it in Romania and with romanian actors until after I finished it and started to watch these insides videos. As a romanian I can only say that i`m glad that we contributed a bit to the whole production that turned out to be a massive succes. Can`t wait for season2. :D
I just looked up where the movie was filmed like... 10 minutes ago 😂 I wish I had read your comment before, would have saved me a lot of time 😁 I am amazed by the fact that many movies are filmed in Europe, and mostly east Europe. One would think they did the whole thing in the US right? Nope! 😊

I’ve passed Cantacuzino Castle 3 days before watching this show and I’m a bit disappointed in myself that I still didn’t recognize it. They did a great job with the lighting tho, the castle is a lot more colorful in real life so I’m giving myself a pass here. Glad our castles and arhitecture are finally getting some recognition, we have some incredibly beautiful buildings that often get overlooked.

The work and effort they put into it shows, Thing was so cute and definitely one of the best characters
This series is great entertainment on so many levels… I grew up with three channels, now I’ve got 5 streaming services, a million shows and There’s Nothing to Watch. Yet here I am watching Wednesday about the Adams Family, never watched the original… and this is outstanding. Jenna is just captivating. Her mesmerizing stare and understated treachery is riveting. But her ability to interact with this Thing reframes the whole mystery in a different yet totally believable realm. Thing is literally her best friend and confidant. It’s ability to communicate such a complex array of feelings is incredible to watch. Thing is a true character, a real, sensitive, protective, loyal friend. The casting is perfect to highlight Jenna as the heroine and provide her with a supporting role that enhances without stealing the spotlight.
Oh that’s really nice to see how Thing’s scenes were shot!!
Getting a magician to play Thing is GENIUS!!! Magicians are so expressive with their hands and definitely more skilled with their hands than actors so it makes so much sense to get a magician for that but I would've never thought of it! Hats off to whoever first suggested it because I bet they got some odd looks from everyone in the room.

This is some of the best VFX work in recent memory. It's even better than practical effects, it's real acting, with all the tricks coming into play to create a deeply memorable character.

I just MASSIVELY appreciate that they didn’t cop out using CGI. They decided to go full practical effect and it’s works because it’s a human, therefore there’s a semblance of a soul behind it all.
