Yeah, he voiced both Wilkins and Wontkins in the Wilkins coffee and other types of commercials. When you think of it Wontkins sounds a lot like Rowlf except maybe a bit grumpier.
I love it when Rowlf sticks up for his fellow dogs, don't you?
This is Rowlf's very first appearance!!!
Rowlf’s first appearance was in a film explaining the Muppet company
DisneyDude1928 The Muppet book said his first appearance was in the commercials, it was made by Disney
@@muppetcommercialsandmore4356 What book is that?
I wish we had commercials like these on today's television programs.
Wow! Jim Henson is doing both voices here! Baskerville sounds like an early Ernie!
so true. he does.

strange things seem to happen to people who don't eat purina

I don’t eat it, I’m not a dog.

Baskerville sounds like Kermit! This must've been before Kermit was discovered.
@Alex Tupuola and that comment was made 8 years ago
He sounds like Kermit and Ernie, I’d his voice were fairly higher! XD
@@kieranstark7213 Jim Henson voiced all three of them, that’s why their voices are so similar.
No wonder Rowlf is such a wise soul. He’s been around longer than Kermit.
Kermit was 1955

I like how Baskerville says asparagus
Unlike asparagus Purina won't make your dog's pee smell funky
rowlf never fails to make me laugh... definitely my favorite of the muppets (:
And if your grocer happens to be out of purina dog how...try asparagus.
BONK

Maybe *national* television?
Used in Purina Dog Chow (1962-1993) and Cartoon Network (1994-2001, 2002-2013)
Rowlf was created & commissioned for a series of Purina commercial in Canada.
Yet another Canadian who made good!!
Rowlf regularly appeared on "The Jimmy Dean Show" in the mid 1960s.
Baskerville:Are you sure it will make a hit ?
Rowlf *smashes box on Baskerville's head*
Rowlf: Positive.
XD
Pawsitive. :D
1:13 Rowlf goes full Wilkins, here.
RIP Rowlf and Baskerville (1936-1990)
Andrew Colin Wilson plot twist: (for real) there still alive
"But asparagus is nourishing, it's got vitamins." And makes your pee smell wierd.
“Asparygus” that dog ate Kermit and is covering it up with a vegetable obsession
@MWolfL Not really, Kermit first appeared in 1955.
Cute! I've never seen these! I miss Jim Henson...
Baskerville sounds like wilkins from the Wilkins coffee commercial
Probably because all 4 puppets are voiced by the same guy
A Jim Henson Product That Is Still Here Today!!!!!
The law of unintended consequences states I would rather eat asperagus then dog chow.
Uh-spare-uh-giss

XD LOL
Rolph is so cool
❤
The Wilkins Coffee ads, The Purina Chow ads, geez did Henson have a knack for violence when he was younger? Not that it's bad, just an observation
Yayo' Ariowibowo you meant he did violence when he was young, I think I know now
this reminds me of Wilkins and Wontkins!

Sure do wish Baskerville came back in Muppets Most Wanted. Annie Sue and Mildred did, so why didn't Baskerville?
Back when Rowlf was popular before Kermit
Ty Hill Broussard Even Yorick (the purple skull) from Sam & Friends was more popular than Kermit before Hey Cinderella
@cstoczyn Agreed but he doesn't suffer half as much than wontkins
Rowlf is quite the spokesdog, I am not sure about Baskerville.

I think Jerry Nelson's Baskerville is much better than Jim Henson's.
